Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan turned 53 on Tuesday and was wished a whole lot of love by celebrities like Sonu Sood, Riteish Deshumukh and Shilpa Shetty

Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan turned 53 on Tuesday and was wished a whole lot of love by celebrities like Sonu Sood, Riteish Deshumukh and Shilpa Shetty. Farah has choreographed popular dance tracks in Bollywood, and has even worked on international projects such as “Marigold: An Adventure in India”, “Monsoon Wedding” and the Chinese film “Perhaps Love”.

She turned director with the 2004 film “Main Hoon Na”, which starred superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and in 2012, Farah made her film acting debut in a leading role in “Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi”.

Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen and her rumoured boyfriend Ritik Bhasin rubbished reports of a break-up by attending the wedding reception of Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge in Mumbai on November 27. The couple, who are said to be dating for the last four years, had apparently called it quits, but now the latest reports suggest that Sushmita and Ritik are very much together and have marriage on their mind.

While speaking about Sushmita and Ritik’s presence at Zaheer-Sagarika’s wedding party, a source told Spotboye.com, “Sushmita and Ritik seemed to be enjoying themselves and were inseparable. So much so that Ritik’s friends were teasing that he and Sush are next in line to get married.”

In an interview with Neha Dhupia, Parineeti Chopra shared a funny conversation she had with her ‘bff’ and tennis sensation, Sania Mirza. “You know that’s how we became friends because she in some interview said ‘I would like Parineeti to play me in my biopic’ and I remember she was playing the US Open and she called me from there in the middle of the night at 2-3’o clock in the morning. She called me and said ‘Hi this is Sania Mirza, she said ‘I just wanna say that you know I have given an interview yesterday and it’s all over the country and its all on front pages and I felt it was my responsibility to tell you , why it all happened’ and I said ya but that’s really sweet of you like to say that. She said, ‘You look like me and you know we all are blessed in the chest area and I think you will look most like me’ and I said ‘oh thanks buddy’ and we have been friends ever since and she tells me I’m the only actor she is friends with you know.”

Now, that is some revelation!

Freddy Daruwala: Rasna is a common Gujarati name

Freddy Daruwala, who was recently seen in a cameo in John Abraham’s ‘Force 2’, has found himself in legal tussle after being sued by soft drink brand Rasna for trademark infringement. The brand, which has also sued the producers of the Gujarati film, Rasna No Dabbo, claims the title infringes upon its trade name and defames the brand.

Responding to the claims, Daruwala tells mid-day, “Rasna is a common Gujarati name and that’s probably where the company also got its name from. Our film is a sweet love story about a girl named Rasna and doesn’t tarnish their brand in any manner. In fact, the film is not even about them. This is a pointless and unfortunate tussle.”

In a notice served to the producers yesterday (a copy of which is with mid-day), the complainants claim that “the mark has become a household name and a common consumer would immediately associate any similar mark with [the company’s]” and the situation could “result into irreparable and irretrievable injury not only to the Plaintiffs but to all the consumers who are so misled.”

A commercial Ahmedabad court had reportedly restrained the filmmakers from releasing the film until July 17, when the next hearing is scheduled.
Despite the development, Daruwala asserts that the team doesn’t intend to change the title.

“We’ve received the notice today [yesterday]. We will first talk to them, but, if all fails, the case will have to be fought fair and square. We had registered the name with the Producers’ Association (IMPPA) about two years ago. If any concern was to be raised, they would have pointed it out to us then.” Rasna has reportedly sued all the production firms associated with the film.

A unit hand informs, “Kaif plays a desi warrior princess in the film. Her character is feisty. So far, she hasn’t shot for her action sequences, but there will a bunch of sword fighting stunts. She will be sporting a nose ring, wild loose waves and smokey kohled eyes. Her indo western outfits will be in earthy colours like greyish brown, blue and black. Though they will be inspired by the ghagra-choli, they will be quirkier.”
