Jacqueline Fernandez doesn’t like to talk about her private life. But when she is asked about her relationship status, the actor insists that she is only committed to her work.

Discussing the traits she like to see in a partner, she says, “I’m not driven by looks. I’d like my man to be susheel [cultured] and someone who takes risks. He should be a balanced person, someone who is worldly-wise, aware of his tradition and culture, confident, adventurous and full of life.”

The actor, who awaits the release of ‘A Gentleman’ this week, says work is keeping her busy. “But things can change with the snap of a finger. I might meet someone who I would want to be with for the rest of my life. I don’t plan anything. Everything just happens spontaneously and that’s how my life has shaped up,” says the actor, adding that she isn’t averse to commitment.

“Commitment is not an issue, but I don’t want to be in a relationship just for the heck of it. I’ve always been a risk-taker. I entered Bollywood without knowing anyone. I wasn’t even familiar with the language. But that didn’t scare me. I need someone who is likeminded and understands me and my work,” says Fernandez.

Naman Shaw to tie the knot with long time friend Nehaa Mishra

Television actress Naman Shaw is finally tying with his long time friend, Nehaa Mishra. The couple had a low key engagement back in June. In a report according to Indian Express Nehaa works in a film production company and the two have known each other for more than eight years. Talking to indianexpress.com, Naman said, “If I would have got engaged to another girl, I would have been having sleepless nights now. Nehaa is my bestie and the perfect life-partner that I could have hoped for. She has stood with me through my thick and thin and I feel blessed to have got Nehaa in my life.”

Talking about the wedding preparations, the actor said, “Since I have a huge joint family in Kolkata, the marriage will happen there. I was recently there to arrange for the hotel bookings for my friends, who will be traveling with us. Although my family is there, I am enjoying taking care of these responsibilities. It’s my wedding and I want to be involved in everything. It’s a happy and fun time for me and I am enjoying preparing for it along with my family. Though we haven’t chalked out a honeymoon plan, we might take a short trip to Europe.”

When asked if he ever wanted to get married to an actor, Naman said, “To be honest, I was really scared of commitment and was enjoying my bachelorhood. When I decided to settle down, I knew it was her. With Nehaa, things are different, she is my best friend. She knows me inside out and I am sure the marriage won’t change anything between us. Even when I was seeing other girls, Nehaa knew about it. I don’t think I could have married anyone apart from her. Nehaa is a very positive person and supports me unconditionally.”

Reminiscing his meeting with Nehaa, the actor said, “We met during a shoot and instantly clicked. She was doing the show just for fun, and here we are all set to marry. It was all fate and I am thankful to God for giving me Nehaa. Our families are also very happy about the match.”

Veteran actress and celebrity talk show host Simi Garewal and Karan Johar attended the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne recently. After hosting the awards event, Garewal was told that KJo was keen to anchor the show.

This didn’t go down well with her. She took to Twitter and wrote, “After I finished hosting IFFM Awards @karanjohar told festival director, ‘Next year I want to host the awards.’ Another takeover?” KJo’s chat show, Koffee with Karan, took over from Rendezvous With Simi Garewal.

It appears that the veteran host is still bitter about the filmmaker ruling the chat show scene on the same channel her show used to air years ago. Garewal has been retweeting comments by her followers on social media, who have been praising her and saying that Johar is more keen on hosting than filmmaking.

Basking in the success of Dhanush starrer “VIP 2”, director Soundarya Rajinikanth says she would love to direct the planned third part in the “VIP” franchise.

At the success meet of “VIP 2” earlier this week here, Dhanush confirmed “VIP 3” is on the cards.

However, he said they haven’t locked a director or script yet.

Soundarya says she would love to be associated with the franchise once again.

“I would love to direct ‘VIP 3’. People think I have acting ambitions, but I seriously don’t. I’m happy behinds the lens as the director,” Soundarya told IANS.

Asked if she plans to direct outside the “VIP” franchise, she said she is toying with a few ideas.

“There a few ideas that I’m working on at the moment but it’s too early to talk about them. If it has to happen, it will happen and we don’t have to do anything about it. I haven’t decided what will be my next project,” she added.

“VIP 2” is Soundarya’s first live-action film. She had previously directed her father Rajinikanth in motion capture animated film “Kochadaiiyaan”.

Talking about the success of “VIP 2”, she said: “I’m thrilled with this kind of response and I’m overwhelmed. I need to thank Dhanush for having faith in me.”
