While India celebrates Republic Day today, filmmaker JP Dutta has decided to use the auspicious occasion to shoot a special song, dedicated to the Indian Army, for his upcoming film Paltan. The film’s cast, including actors Arjun Rampal and Sonu Sood, will kickstart the shoot of Sabko Yahaan in Chandigarh today. What makes the song all the more special is that it marks the reunion of Sonu Nigam, lyricist Javed Akhtar and composer Anu Malik.

The trio had collaborated on the famous Sandese Aate Hai for Dutta’s Border (1997). So inspired was the filmmaker by the magic they weaved together that he worked with them again in LOC Kargil. A source from the production house informs that the song was recorded over the past few days at a suburban recording studio in Mumbai. Ahead of the filming, the cast – Harshvardhan Rane, Luv Sinha, Siddhant Kapoor, Gurmeet Choudhary, Jackie Shroff along with Rampal and Sood – reached Chandigarh yesterday.

“The unit was shooting in Ladakh for the past few weeks. Having wrapped up that schedule, they headed to Chandigarh for the last leg of shooting,” says the source. An ode to the men in uniform, the song will also feature real-life soldiers from the Indian Army. “The team is quite excited to shoot the song with the jawans. It’s an inspirational song that will remind people of Sandese Aate Hai.” Without divulging too many details about the track, producer Nidhi Dutta says, “The song is about our brave soldiers and their families. Behind every soldier guarding the border, there is a family that lets him go so that he can protect his country.”

The trailer of ‘Judwaa 2′ has already set the ball rolling for every Salman fan who is dripping with nostalgia. Varun Dhawan does a pretty good job but we surely miss the beauties from the original movie.

The new song from the movie just dropped today and we have many feels. ‘Oonchi Hai Building 2.0′ is sassy, cool, and peppy. It’s definitely already on the playlist of everyone who is a 90s fan.

The video is very similar to the previous one but I have to admit, the chemistry between Salman and Karisma is hard to beat.

But I am not discounting the fact that the new one is good as well. The only weird part is this one line where she is singing ‘mere swagger wale raja’, but I guess these days, in order to make a song ready for the millennials, music producers often add beats and weird words to make it work.

It’s fun to hear Anu Malik croon again after a very long time. The song also brings back memories of all the times we danced to this crazy number back in the day. The new one is meant for the night club and long drives, though I am betting on it being the new ‘cool’ couple song for weddings as well. “Oonchi hai building has in a way transcended time and has a huge universal appeal and I’m extremely humbled by the way it has been received. The new song has retained the energy and spirit, while the new cast has given it their all for this song as I feel they wanted to live up to the expectation of the original chartbuster. The choice again to retain this song is an ode to the spirit of Judwaa, we hope the people will accept this with all its youthfulness intact and probably 20 years from now this version does what the previous is still doing”, says David Dhawan, the director of the movie.

The movie is all set to release on September 29.

Rehashing popular old number is the new trend in Bollywood. Well, we ain’t complaining; after all, the recreated version becomes our party song of the year. From ‘Kala Chashma’ to ‘Tamma Tamma’, a lot many 90s hit tracks have been rehashed lately, garnering huge numbers on the internet.

Remember those famous lyrics, “Neend churayi meri kisne o sanam….Tu ne”? Don’t know about you, but every kid born in the 90s has grooved to ‘Neend Churai Meri’ from the cult film ‘Ishq’. Anu Malik’s music, Kumar Sanu and Udit Narayan’s voice, what else do you need to create a Bollywood hit? The song became so huge after it was released that it ruled the music charts for weeks.

What if this song was recreated as well; wouldn’t we all just love that? Joining the bandwagon of remixes is director Rohit Shetty. He is all set to bring a rehashed version of this popular song in his upcoming flick ‘Golmaal Again’.

Wondering who will be composing Anu Malik’s song? It’s none other than his student Amaal Mallik. Speaking to a leading daily he said, “I am doing two songs for the film, one among which is Neend Churayi. It’s a big responsibility. It is also a tribute to my uncle, Anu Malik, who composed the original. We will retain the hook line and add new verses to the song. It will suit the mood of the film.”

I don’t know what happens to me on stage. Something else seems to take over ! #AMLive #Singer #Soundcheck #Music

Though Amaal is working on the composition, the singer is yet to be confirmed. Well, whoever he/she is, they definitely have huge shoes to fill in.

Interestingly, Ajay Devgn who grooved to this song with his now wife Kajol in 1997 will be seen taking the dance floor once again. We just hope we get to see Kajol making a cameo in the song as well; after all, how can we imagine that song without her?

The shooting of ‘Golmaal 4′ has begun and the film also stars Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu and Shreyas Talpade. Kareena who has been part of the last two films will not be seen in this one. However, joining the ‘Golmaal’ family now are Tabu and Parineeti Chopra. The film is slated to hit the theatres on Diwali 2017.
