Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt relationship has literally become the talk of town. First the Brahmastra actors made an appearance as a couple at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s wedding reception and set tongues wagging. The Sanju hero confirmed his relationship in an interview to GQ and got fans of the two stars excited. And hearing Ranbir Kapoor gush about Alia Bhatt only makes us wonder if he has finally found his Ms Perfect. Remember after his split with Katrina Kaif in 2016, RK Jr had said, “I want to get married, I want to have children and I will do it in the right way. I will meet a likeminded person and fall madly, truly and deeply in love and just take it from there.”

In a recent interview with senior journalist Rajeev Masand, Ranbir Kapoor opened up yet again about his ladylove. Ranbir was all praises for the actress. In fact, he talked about being in love and said, “I think every human being does extraordinary things only when they’re in love. I believe that love is something, which is a privilege. And to be in a happy, beautiful, positive space… a relationship could be with a boy girl guy friend your mother father anybody. When there’s some genuine love it’s really beautiful.”

Ranbir when probed about his comment on Alia’s work added, “It’s only positive and more so because we are working in a film together and I really admire her as an actor. To see her have so much of colour, so much of spontaneity, so much of hardwork, so much of discipline (extremely disciplined) is quite rare. It’s amazing. It’s been 10 years for me in this industry, little lethargy, a little chalta hai type attitude comes in. So it’s rejuvenating for me as an actor to be with Alia.”

There was also one question that Rajeev posed to dog love Ranbir, about his girlfriend who is obsessed with cats to which an amused Kapoor Jr said, “I’m not only a dog person, I’m an animal lover and she’s an animal person too. Yeah, we like animals.”

While Ranbir has opened up about his relationship with Alia, the actress has sworn never ever to talk about her personal affairs in the media. So, we will either have to wait for Alia to share her thoughts on boyfriend or may be just do without it for now.

Before Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor was in a relationship with Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. His affairs with Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone were most talked about. Alia Bhatt too was linked to Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and was also allegedly involved with Sidharth Malhotra before she started dating Ranbir.

The new spin off in the Star Wars saga, ‘Solo A Star Wars Story’ is a huge disappointment at the box office given the last 3 films in the franchise have been billion dollar films.

While Disney had intentionally left the ending of the film open ended, leaving enough room for prequels and sequels, this proposition looks a distant thought as even the fans didn’t turn up for Solo.

So what possibly went wrong here, let’s take a look.

1. Timing of release

Only 5 months since Rian Johnson’s ‘Star Wars The Last Jedi’ had released and Disney puts another Star Wars film on the plate. It’s too much to expect from fans to turn up in such a short span.

Also, Disney releases in the past 2 years has been dismal during the same time – ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean – Dead Men Tell No Tales’ (also called ‘Salazar’s Revenge’) which released on May 27, 2016 and May 26, 2017 respectively.

2. Change of Directors over Creative Differences

The film started with the directorial team of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller until Disney handed over the baton to Ron Howard citing creative differences. This change caused 70% reshooting of the film and the end product was nowhere close to the recent films.

3. Competition

In the summer season of blockbusters like ‘Avengers: Infinity Wars’ and ‘Deadpool 2’, Solo never stood a chance. With ‘Jurassic World – Fallen Kingdom’, ‘Incredibles 2’ and ‘Ant Man and The Wasp’ releasing in few weeks across June and July, the film was sure to run out of steam.

4. Star Wars Fatigue

With fans being divided over ‘Star Wars The Last Jedi’, it was no surprise that fans would eventually skip Solo. Also, Solo offered nothing new and was just another heist drama set in a galaxy far away.

Even the fate of ‘Star Wars Episode IX’ hangs loose.

5. China Collections

Star Wars franchise do not have a greater following and acceptance at the Chinese box office and it showed in the total collections. With Chinese audience contributing a huge chunk of box office collections worldwide, an opening of USD 10.1 million for ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ very much tells the tale.

While the force was stronger with ‘Star Wars The Last Jedi’, it also has to be seen what lies in future for the franchise.

P.S. – With the release of ‘Star Wars The Last Jedi’, Disney (happy with Rian Johnson’s work) entrusted him with a new Star Wars trilogy set in a different time altogether.

You know what’s the best thing ever? When these big, tough looking guys just turn out to be the most lovable people. Like they can knock you out with one punch but are also so damn sweet and nice at the same time. 

The one person who flawlessly fits this criteria is obviously The Rock. If you follow him on Instagram – you probably do, the guy has like over 100 million followers – you know he not only makes us laugh, he also inspires millions on people with his captions. 

And, of course all the kids pictures, I mean he’s just an adorable dad and you can just see how much he loves his family.

8. Such good talks. 

Its Labor Day. One of my favorite holidays as we celebrate the blue collar American worker and their contributions to our country thru labor and sweat. In the spirit of Labor Day, I had an amazing philosophical conversation w/ my baby girl about the value of hard work and how respect is given when it’s earned. I told her, “Baby girl when you grow up, you get out there and dent the universe thru hard work and sweat. And always make sure you do it in a positive way with class, dignity and respect”.
