Sona Mohapatra Calls Out On Kangana's Controversial Interview In An Open Letter

Kangana Ranaut left everyone in utter shock and disbelief when she gave one hell of an interview last week, with Rajat Sharma, the host of India TV show’s ‘Aap Ki Adalat’. She was definitely in a tell-all mood as she didn’t shy away from any of the allegations or questions that were posed to her. However, what caught everybody’s attention were her candid answers concerning her ex-beau Hrithik Roshan.

Fans and the Bollywood fraternity went into frenzy as the actress revealed personal details about their relationship and didn’t mince her words, at all. Some appreciated her for having the guts to speak so openly on a public platform, whereas the interview didn’t go down well with others. One of them is Bollywood singer, Sona Mohapatra.

Sona, who is known for her bold and outspoken personality, took to her Facebook account to address Kangana’s latest interview. In an open letter to Kangana, she revealed what all she feels about her revelations.

She is of the opinion that the interview was a “part of a professional PR campaign” before Kangana’s next film, ‘Simran’ is released and says that the PR stunt was “in bad taste”.

She goes on to inculcate the issue of topic of feminism by saying that, “it does a big dis-service to the cause of feminism & fair play.” She even went ahead and called the entire situation as “circus” and ended the post on an unrelated note, by wishing the readers a “Happy Onam”.

The allegations made by Kangana in this interview also received a rather ‘subtle’ response from Hrithik’s ex-wife, Sussanne Khan. The ace interior designer came out in her ex-husband’s support and posted a selfie on her Twitter account. The whole Kangana-Hrithik feud came into the limelight last year, when Kangana received a legal notice from Hrithik asking for an apology for referring to him as her ‘silly ex’ in an interview. Kangana then began to share the details of an alleged affair with Hrithik, which was repeatedly denied by latter.

Although Hrithik has not responded to the interview yet, the open letter from Sona has definitely added fuel to the fire and we can only wonder what Kangana has to say on this.

Reportedly, Abhishek is stepping in Sahir Ludhianvi’s shoes, who is known for penning some beautiful songs like ‘Jinhe Naaz Hai Hind Par’ and ‘Maang Ke Sath Tumhara’, and has already started preparing for his role as well. In fact, it is being said that this movie will mark the directorial debut of Jasmeet Reen. The film is expected to go on the floors early next year and our expectations are really high from Bhansali, who has earlier given us movies like ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Devdas’ and ‘Black’ to name a few.

This movie will mark Abhishek’s first collaboration with Bhansali, while Aishwarya has already worked with him in some of the iconic movies of all time like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Guzaarish’. Apparently, this is for the third time that Abhishek will work in a movie based on a real-life character. Earlier, he had worked in ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ along with actress Deepika Padukone and ‘Guru’ that was loosely based on the life of businessman Dhirubhai Ambani.

Shows And Documentaries On Netflix India Which You Can't Miss This September

‘Game of Thrones’ just ended, and it is time to find ourselves a new obsession. Let’s return to our very trustworthy Netflix, shall we? September, in particular, looks like a month for the return of amazing serie—not only Netflix originals but also a few foreign productions. This month is particularly golden for all those who wish to enjoy well-made documentaries. We are restricting this list to shows and documentaries, do let us know in the comments below if you need a list of movies as well.

Netflix is finally coming up with the new season of ‘BoJack Horseman’ in September. Regardless of whether you are into animated series or not, this show is the funniest and most honest thing you will ever watch. This season although does seem to have taken a dramatic turn as our beloved alcoholic horse seems to have disappeared but we will hold our judging horses for the premiere.

Speaking of drama, you can’t miss the Colombian crime drama, ‘Narcos’. The highlight of this season is going to be Cali Cartel. We have high hopes for this season.

In the fresh series front, ‘American Vandal’, an eight part half-hour satirical adaptation of crime documentaries has all the balls in its court, pun intended. It is about the time when a high school prank went too far and vandalized twenty-seven faculty cars with phallic images. September is also bringing us Jack Whitehall and his father’s Southeast Asia trip, ‘Travels with My Father’ hitting Netflix on September 22 is a show where Jack Whitehall, a British Comedian takes his father on a trip with the hope of strengthening their bond. ‘There is nothing more foreign than Family’ if you feel the message, join the two boys on this adventure.

On the other hand, there is ‘Club de Cuervos’, a family drama where the recently orphaned siblings battle to determine who will gain control of their soccer team. ‘The Expanse: Season 2′ is a show about the politics of humanity colonizing Mars and living in the Asteroid Belt and beyond while offering enough high-octane action for a variety of sci-fi fans. If the only criteria you have to watch a show is entertainment then you have definitely got to watch RuPaul’s ‘Drag Race: Season 9′. We haven’t seen anything so effortlessly sassy.

Now let’s talk about the bag full of documentaries Netflix is offering us this September.

‘Who The F**ck Is That Guy?’ tells the tale of Michael Alago, a New York native and an icon in the music business. ‘Gaga: Five Foot Two’, where we get to watch BTS (behind the scenes) of Lady Gaga’s life over an eight-month period.

‘Fire Chasers’ is an eye-opener which follows firefighters as they try to fight seasonal wildfires in California, and how man-made choices have impacted their work. ‘The Confession Tapes’ is a crime documentary focused on decoding the reasons why people retracted their confessions.

You are specially blessed if you are a fan of comedy. Netflix has collected some of the biggest names in comedy for specials. Jerry Seinfeld will launch his first special after his Netflix deal earlier this year for which he is allegedly paid 100 Million dollars. Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham also got his own feature. Marc Maron, comedian, actor and host of the WTF podcast debuts his hour-long Netflix special.

'Wonder Woman' Becomes One Of The Top 5 Highest-Earning Superhero Movies Of All Time

‘A warrior princess who saves the world using her superpowers’…now who wouldn’t love to see a story like this unfold on the big screen? So when ‘Wonder Woman’ released in the month of May 2017, fans of the DC Comics’ character were overjoyed. Starring Gal Gadot in the lead, ‘Wonder Woman’ is the first superhero movie directed by a woman (Patty Jenkins) and thus, high expectations were riding on this, one of a kind movie.

However, if the release of a woman-centric superhero movie made the feminist in you jump with joy, we have another reason to make you all the more happy.

Please take a back seat if you are one of those who think that in a movie, a woman’s role should be confined to being the damsel in distress. Turns out, Wonder Woman not only kicks ass on screen but also, off screen.

According to Mashable, Wonder Woman is all set to be among the top 5 superhero films of all time, at the domestic box office.

The Top 8 superhero films list, as per early August, looked something like this:

1. Marvel’s The Avengers: $623.4 million

2. The Dark Knight: $544.3 million

3. Avengers: Age of Ultron: $459 million

4. The Dark Knight Rises: $448 million

5. Iron Man 3: $409 million

6. Captain America: Civil War: $408 million

7. Spider-Man (2002): $403.7 million

8. Wonder Woman: $399.5 million

However, according to the new report, by the first week of September, ‘Wonder Woman’ will manage to earn $409+, surpassing the Robert Downy Jr. starrer- ‘Iron Man 3′, ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Captain America’ and will move ahead to sit behind ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, at the 5th rank.

Although, snatching away the 4th stage from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ would be a little far-fetched, the fact that Wonder Woman has managed to reach the 5th position, among all the men-centric superhero films, is an achievement in itself. Also, the opening figures act as an important factor; ‘Wonder Woman’ opened at $103 million, while all the four films above it in the list opened at $160 million or higher.

Apart from the high earnings that the film has raked in, ‘Wonder Woman’ was praised by one and all. Whether it was for Gal Gadot’s extraordinary acting skills or the strong and commendable portrayal of a woman character, the film took the box office as well as the social media by storm. No wonder, it was ranked number 1 on the list of Top 5 Summer Blockbusters on Twitter.

The actor said, “They still ask me about Aditya Pancholi also. Back then I was 16 and now I am 30. I am not one of those who will manipulate, I will answer every question. if I answer also people have a problem and if I don’t answer then also people have a problem. I am not someone who will go round and round. If you ask me a question, I will give you an answer, I don’t understand what to say or not to say then! The best solution would be not to call me for interviews, so everybody is quiet, and the problem will be solved.”

The Queen star was also asked if she is single and she replied back saying, “I have the answers to everything but this question.” It should be noted that Kangana and Hrithik’s battle was one of the talked-about events of 2016.

Sidharth Malhotra has managed to stay in the news for quite some time now. Whether it’s for his latest movie ‘A Gentleman’, his rumored relationship with Alia Bhatt or for his ‘insensitive’ tweet, this Bollywood hunk has been making headlines quite a bit.

The latest rumor surrounding him is that he has signed his next film which is a biopic on Kargil Martyr Captain Vikram Batra. Late Captain Vikram Batra, who was recognized by the Pakistan Army as ‘Sher Shah’ (Lion King) of India, has been an inspiration for youngsters across the country since decades, because of his bravery and valor.

During the Kargil war, Captain Vikram Batra was given the responsibility to get the target point 5140 released from the Pakistan Army. Despite it being one of the toughest operations, Batra managed to capture the Tiger Hill with his soldiers on 20th June 1999. His compelling story has won the hearts of millions of Indians.

Sidharth, who is currently all prepped up for ‘Aiyaary’, along with Manoj Bajpaaye, will reportedly start shooting for the biopic next year. Just like his latest release ‘A Gentleman’, he’ll play a double role in the biopic too as Captain Batra had an identical twin brother, Vishal.

The biopic will be a first for this rising superstar as ‘Aiyaary’, though based on real life incidents, is not a biography. Given that Sidharth’s grandfather was in the army, the decision to star in a biopic on the legendary Captain probably comes naturally to him.

The star, who is currently tight-lipped about this future project, did reveal earlier in an interview that he would be really interested in doing a biopic, “There so many more personalities that we know and don’t know about. There are actually, a couple of scripts in the working before I take the name and disclose it. I think once they are confirmed, I will announce them. That is something I would really be interested in portraying a character or a story which is actually happened.”

Sidharth is currently busy filming for multiple projects. Although ‘A Gentleman’ didn’t exactly turn out to be a blockbuster, his upcoming projects- ‘Aiyaary’ and ‘Ittefaq’ which are set to be released next year, definitely seem promising.

Pahlaj Nihalani Is Presenting 'Julie 2' & Twitter Is Bursting Into A Sanskari Climax At The U-Turn

Former Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani has turned distributer for ‘Julie 2′, a thriller directed by Deepak Shivdasani. The film is a sequel to the 2004 film ‘Julie’ which Wikipedia describes as an ‘erotic film’. The man who denied a clearance to ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ for being too ‘lady oriented’ among other things is presenting a film whose tagline is ‘Bold, beautiful, blessed’.

Nihalani, whose censor axe fell down heavily on a lot many films, now believes his film ‘Julie 2′ should get an ‘A’ certificate and be cleared without any cuts. “Julie 2′ should be given an ‘A’ certificate without any cuts. There is no vulgarity, obscenity or even a language problem,” Nihalani told Mumbai Mirror.

Defending his position as CBFC chief as someone who had to follow the rulebook, he added, “”There were cuts because I have followed the guidelines.” Just in case you haven’t seen the trailer of ‘Julie 2′, here have a watch:
