The commencement of horror in Hollywood has left viewers flabbergasted for a long time now. Since the beginning of human existence, people have been fascinated by ghosts or eerie tales. The curiosity to acquire knowledge about the presence of the unknown and feeling connected to the darker side of life has lead people to believe in ghastly energies around us.

Filmmakers have tried to tap into this primal fear since the advent of horror films. They see the horror genre as a money-making venture while still being true to what it set out to do. The audience is also attracted to mysterious plots as well. With no idea of what might be coming next and totally unpredictable climaxes, such movies can be extremely alarming while giving us incredible chills!!

Director Andy Muscheitti is finally here with ‘It’, an adaptation of one of Stephen King’s most visceral and terrifying novels. Stephen King is one of the most prolific and imaginative writers of his generation. He is undisputedly one of the best authors in the modern horror literature and when it comes to movies based on his stories – they are successful in both commercial and artistic ways. ‘It’ is the latest movie based on his book after ‘The Dark Tower’ in 2017 and ‘Cell’ in 2016, both appreciable in their own ways. Since 1976, Stephen King’s book adaptations to movies have been enthralling audiences worldwide. It’s 2017 now and the charm still hasn’t faded.

'It' Review: Stephen King's Novel Gets A Brutal New Adaptation That Is Surely A HitSource: Warner Bros Pictures

The movie begins with a scene where Bill Denbrough and his seven-year-old brother Georgie are seen making a sailboat out of a sheet of paper. Georgie takes the boat out into the flooded streets and accidentally sails it down the gutter. He encounters a strange man claiming to be “Pennywise –  the Dancing Clown”. Georgie, being an innocent kid is easily charmed and devoured by the monster. The movie proceeds with the events that follow in the town, six months later. Bill, feeling guilty about sending his younger brother out alone, assembles “The Losers Club”.

This band of children, on the brink of adolescence, are the only ones who are awake and attuned to the sheer horror of town’s mysterious unexplained tragedies and child disappearances. The creature also goes after a kid in the form of a living painting, permanently traumatizing him and attacks other in the form of a rotting leper. “The Losers Club” soon realise that they have been having the same experiences. Curious, they head to the library only to find that the town Derry has been plagued by such ghastly eruptions for hundreds of years. The kids come together, some out of friendship and some out of desperation resolve to vanquish this curse and free their town from ‘It’.

With each scene different and tingling, the film finds a proper rhythm to scare the crap out of us. Elements like – the balloons, the titular clown and “You will float too” do not make the film sadistic. The filmmakers have supposedly played the safe card in releasing the movie. ‘It’ is based upon only the childhood-set portions of King’s book. The film is expected to have a potential sequel after considering the film’s pre-release tracking numbers.

Overall, ‘It’ succeeds in making you feel the sheer terror that the kids in the film go through and sends chills down your spine. Do not watch the film alone especially if you have a fear of clowns.

Well, it’s a known fact that the fan following of ‘Game of Thrones’ spreads across all seven continents. People from different countries and languages are ardent followers of the HBO hit show. And we don’t need to give you thousands of reasons as to why show such a huge hit. It’s bloody amazing!

We can definitely say that it is one of the most watched shows in the world and every news or update about it goes viral within no time.

Conan Stevens(c) HBO

When we learned that GOT had an Indian connection, we couldn’t contain our happiness. From costumes to VFX, there were a lot of things where our people were involved in making of the show which is pretty epic if you think about it. But we bet none of knew that the show also had a Bollywood connection.

Don’t be surprised, but did you know Australian actor Conan Stevens, who was seen playing the character of Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane shares a Bollywood bond with us? The man has done three Bollywood films and shared screen space with Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan. What’s astonishing is all this took place while we had no clue about it.

Stevens has played Asura in ‘Drona’, Joey in ‘Chandini Chowk to China’ and also the fighter Luca in ‘Brother’.

Recently in an Interview with Hindustan Times, he shared his experience working in Hindi films. He talked how he is a huge fan of Hindi films even before he started working in them.

Asura Drona(c) Twitter

When asked about his favourite films, he mentioned Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’ and said, “I had seen Amitabh in movies before but never really recognised him. Black was the first modern movie I saw him in, and wow! I know it did not do too well in cinemas but what a great movie. Very well received by the critics and rightly so. I think this movie raised international expectations of Hindi films from a mad rush to marry with song and dance erupting out of nowhere to that India can produce very serious dramatic films.”

Canon_Chandini chowk To China(c) Twitter

He also mentioned how he enjoyed watching ‘D-Day’, ‘Bhootnath’, ‘Ghajini’, ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’.

He also believes that Indian actors are very hard working and give everything it takes to play a role. He shared, “The stars of Indian cinema seem to take the job on as more than a job, it seems to me that they try to live as large as the roles they play. They sing and dance, do their own stunt work, they really take it upon themselves to work as hard as they possibly can at being the role model they pretend to be onscreen. And all whom I have met are absolute gentlemen in the traditional English sense. It really has been a pleasure to work with everyone I have so far met, and I must admit I have learned and do try to emulate them in this way.”

Conan Stevens(c) Youtube

When asked about the difference between Bollywood and Hollywood he gave a mind-blowing answer, “In India, reality is too close so when we go to the movies we want to escape reality, in the West they are so removed from reality that that is what they want to see in movies.”

Well, true that, Conan. We hope to see you in more Hindi films soon!!

2017 has not been very kind to Bollywood so far, as several films have crashed and burned at the box office while some are struggling to stay afloat.

From Shah Rukh Khan to Salman Khan, no one seemed to be able to weave their regular magic on the viewers this year.

However, 2017 has witnessed the soaring rise of small films where new stars have done wonders, while movies with Khans just tanked.

We are a country where we plan our weekends around movies. A three-hour film is the best way to unwind and can have a therapeutic effect. But this year, many an irate audience left the halls fuming after spending money on disappointing shows.

Nevertheless, the show must go on, and there is still a bevy of promising films lined up that might make up for the earlier upsets.

‘Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost’ and here are nine movies to watch out for:

Simran (September 15)

Simran(c) T Series

Set to hit the screens within few days, this film doesn’t need any introduction. ‘Queen’ Kangana Ranaut will be seen in a new Gujarati avatar and we bet she will nail this character as well.

Simran is the story about a woman who lives in USA. She is a gambler and a kleptomaniac, who believes in living her life to the fullest.

Helmed by Hansal Mehta, who has made films like Aligarh and Shahid, we are expecting a lot from this one too.

Judwaa 2 (September 29)

Judwaa 2(c) Fox Star India

There is literally no one that we know of, who isn’t looking forward to watching this film. The ‘1997 Judwaa’ still makes us laugh. From leaving us in splits to making us groove to ‘TannTana Tan Tan Tan Tara’, Salman and Karisma left us stunned. And the cherry on top was seeing bhaijaan in a double role. Let’s hope the remake doesn’t ruin the classic.

Judwaa 2 stars Varun Dhawan, Tapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez, and is being directed by none other than David Dhawan who also directed the original.

Chef (6th October)

Chef(c) T Series

After a long time, we will finally get to see nawab Saif Ali Khan gracing his fans on the silver screen. This time he is all set to impress us with the official remake of Jon Favreau’s ‘Chef’. The movie beautifully narrates the story of a man who is trying to balance both his personal and professional life, a tale that many of us can relate to. The film looks promising and we can’t wait to watch this father-son saga.

2.0 (October 19)

2.0(c) Lyca Productions

This is one of the most awaited movies of the year, after all, we get to see Akshay Kumar and legend Rajinikanth sharing screen space together. The sequel to 2010’s blockbuster film ‘Enthiran’, this film has already made tons of money before its release itself. Directed by S.Shankar, we will see Rajinikanth reprising his original role, while Akki will be seen donning a negative character. The film is already being called as the most expensive Indian film made till date!

Golmaal 4 (October 19)

Golmaal 4(c) Twitter

This is the fourth film from the Golmaal franchise. Every instalment has not only entertained us but managed to make good bucks at the box office as well. This time joining the Golmaal family are Tabu and Parineeti Chopra alongside Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu and Shreyas Talpade. This Rohit Shetty film will also recreate famous song ‘Neend Churai Meri’ from the cult film ‘Ishq’.

Padmavati (November 17)

Padmavati(c) Twitter

Everyone knows that filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movies are larger than life. It’s not only entertaining, but what he brings on the screen is an experience that we cherish. And now he is busy bringing the story of Padmavati to life, which is based on Rani Padmini, RanavRawal Ratan Singh, and Alauddin Khilji.

This magnum opus stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Before release, the film is already in news like all the other Bhansali films and we can’t wait for its first look to be out.

Tumhari Sulu (December 1)

tumhari-sulu(c) T Series

Vidya Balan is a powerhouse actor, who often moves us with her acting, However, lately her films haven’t been doing well, but we still have high hopes for her second release this year.

Directed by Suresh Triveni, Vidya will be seen as a late-night RJ in the film.

Fukrey Returns (December 8)

Fukrey Returns(c) Twitter

‘Fukrey’; is an example of one of the funniest films out there and the ‘jugaadu’ boys are. The second instalment looks more interesting and funnier than the first movie as the teaser states, “Ummeed pe nahi, jugaad pe duniya kayam hai.” It’s time to gear up for ‘Bholi Punjaban’ and ‘Choocha’s’ craziness.

Tiger Zinda Hai (December 22)

Tiger Zinda Hai(c) Twitter

Irrespective of the past Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are known to set the screen on fire with their amazing chemistry. The movie has a long way to go before its release, but it has already begun making rounds on. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is  a sequel to 2012’s super hit film, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.

In terms of ratings, this season of ‘Game of Thrones’ may be coming off its biggest year ever, but the hit series has also broken records for piracy this year.

MUSO, a piracy monitoring firm reported that the seventh season of the HBO hit drama has been illegally watched more than one billion times, or about 140 million times per episode. Wow, that’s a lot.

GoT Season 7 Was Pirated More Than A Billion Times

In contrast to that, HBO reported only an average of 32 million viewers who watched each episode of the seventh season via legal viewing. However, it is important to note that this number only accounts for the show’s audience In USA and doesn’t include the audience that watch through HBO’s other authorized networks.

But, this season’s illicit sharing was most certainly boosted by the two episodes that leaked online before their release date. But surprisingly, both of the leaks weren’t because of the result of the much-publicized hack of the company, where hackers threatened to release GoT episodes in the press.

GoT Season 7 Was Pirated More Than A Billion Times

Instead, both of the episodes were leaked from HBO’s overseas operations, and in one of the cases, reportedly four people have been arrested in India. Either way, MUSO’s CEO and Co-Founder Andy Chatterley told TorrentFreak that the leaks boosted the piracy — noting, for example, the leaked sixth episode was pirated more times than the season finale.

But, the majority of the piracy was not through the traditional file-sharing torrents, but rather from sites hosting posting unauthorized streaming video of the episodes.

GoT Season 7 Was Pirated More Than A Billion Times

Even after HBO’s considerable efforts to reduce the piracy of the show, it just seems to increase. HBO usually makes new episodes available worldwide on the same day and even launched a standalone streaming service (HBO Now) that doesn’t require a cable subscription.

kangana_malaikaSocial media queen Malaika Arora, who takes the Internet by storm with every picture of hers, recently attended Richfeel’s beauty product launch.

At the launch, after answering a series of beauty regime questions, the epitome of reverse age, Malaika was asked about the Kangana Ranaut feud, wherein she has slammed her alleged ex-Hrithik Roshan, and blatantly speaking about their alleged affair and Karan Johar.

To which, Malaika Arora said, “Why should I comment on something I’m not related. It doesn’t affect my life at all. I have no take at it. What someone else says doesn’t bother my life.”

It’s been a long ago, since Malaika was seen on the big screens shaking her leg and making the audience go berserk over her moves. She expressed her views about it too. “Even I’m feeling bad, that I got loads of opportunities, and I’m sad that I couldn’t do so many beautiful songs. But I have many opportunities. I’m happy with whatever I have done. I’m okay with whoever does whatever they want. I have no qualms about anything. These girls (Bollywood actresses) are doing really well.

SRKHema Malini’s love for dance is well-known. In her bid to promote Indian dance forms, the actor has invited the National Ballet of Georgia, Sukhishvili, to perform in Mumbai at Synergy – an Indo-Georgian dance fusion. The event will be held at the Jio Garden arena in BKC today. And the who’s who of Bollywood including Shah Rukh Khan, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Rani Mukerji and Tamannaah Bhatia will be lending their support to the actor.

Khan and Malini go back a long way — the actor was the lead in Malini’s directorial debut, Dil Aashna Hai (1992). One to cherish his relationships, the superstar assured Malini that he will be by her side on her big day. A source close to the danseuse says, “Shah Rukh had said yes to her film instantly, back then. And things haven’t changed in the last 25 years — one call from her and he said he would be there for her event, no matter how busy he is.”

Dixit and Mukerji, who have often wowed the audience with their dancing abilities on screen, have expressed their excitement to be part of the show. The source adds, “Sridevi is currently recovering from a viral attack, but she has promised Hemaji that she will make an appearance if she feels better.”

Malini adds, “I have invited all my colleagues from the film industry and I will be the happiest if they come.”

The trailer of ‘Daddy’ gave us an exciting glimpse into the life of gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli and Arjun Rampal’s fans could not have been more excited to see him appear on the screen after a long gap. But sadly we are in for a disappointing and bumpy show.

The Story:

Hailing from Dagdi Chawl, Arun Gawli (Arjun Rampal) embraces the dark side as the last resort when all the mills in Mumbai shut down. His gang consists of Rama, Babu and Vijay and his love interest Zubeida (Aishwarya Rajesh) appears pivotal to his ‘soul-searching/existential crisis’ dilemma.

Every time he tries to come out of his dark world and fight his demons, he is somehow sucked back into it. Gawli starts working under don Maqsood (Farhan Akhtar) who is none other than Dawood.

Things take a turn for Rampal when all his gang members are killed and he takes the throne. His swift decisions and cold, calculated demeanour turns him into the most feared gangster in Central Mumbai and pretty soon he can’t be tamed even by Maqsood.

On the other hand we have ‘good cop’ inspector Vijaykar (Nishikant Kamat), whose sole aim is to lock Gawli behind the bars.

Gawli is something of a Robinhood-like hero for his followers which earns him the title of ‘Daddy’. However, it is left for the viewers to decide if he deserves to be hated or lauded.

Daddy Review© Kundalini Entertainment

Ashim Ahluwalia’s Gawli is not portrayed as the classic evil, devious gangster, but as someone who aims to change himself for the betterment of people.

Rampal is convincing in every manner as the brooding Gawli seeking a chance for redemption, by the weak screenplay rains all over his parade and leaves you with an unfulfilling taste.

The highlight of the film is its camera work that truly takes you back to the 80’s with its gloomy, dark settings, while the look of the characters are spot on, giving you the classic feel of that decade.

In an attempt to create a holistic work, somehow there is a clash of elements on screen turning the script into a congested, overflowing platter leaving one confused as to what the Director is trying to convey.

Daddy Review© Kundalini Entertainment

The first half of the film moves at a super sluggish pace, giving you enough time to scroll through your messages and you still wouldn’t miss a thing.

The ultra-detailed journey of Gawli could have been trimmed as it completely stole the focus from the plot of the story.

By the time you get to the second half your patience barely sustains and the overwhelming smorgasbord of elements just kills whatever shred of interest you had left.

Arjun Rampal is the saving grace of ‘Daddy’ as he shines brightly as the redemption-seeking don, and the hard work he has put into portraying this character is visible for all to see.

He slips perfectly into Gawli’s shoes but the script keeps pulling him down throughout the film.

Talking about the rest of the cast, Kamat is spot on and leaves you impressed and so does Rajesh as she gives justice to her role of a devoted partner.

Daddy Review© Kundalini Entertainment

Farhan Akhtar somehow appears uncomfortable as the bad guy with his forced glares and perpetually creased brows, as nothing about him matches the description of Dawood, simply making his role as all kinds of wrong.

Don’t watch ‘Daddy’ if you are looking for a fulfilling movie experience, but do watch it if you have missed Rampal as he is simply brilliant.

This slow-paced drama isn’t for those who expect it to be something like ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’.

‘Daddy’ is nothing but a flawed screenplay that leaves you heavily disappointed at the wasted star power in the movie.

Farah-KanganaWithout taking any names, choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan today reacted to the Hrithik Roshan – Kangana Ranaut controversy, saying the “Queen” actor is playing a woman card.

Farah said for her feminism meant equality and if a man would have made statements like Kangana he would have faced the wrath of the society.

When asked about her views on Kangana’s recent interview, Farah said in a media interaction, “I don’t want to take anyone’s name, I don’t want to get caught in between. But every time you are playing a woman’s card. For me feminism is equality.

“In such a scenario a man should put himself in a woman’s shoes and vice versa and then it becomes easy to understand each other. One should deal with such matters carefully.”

The “Happy New Year” director said both men and women should receive same treatment and judgement should not be made on the basis of gender.

“Just imagine if a man had said something like a woman, what would have happened. If a man had sent a picture or said anything like this, that man’s life would have become hell or he might have been taken to the jail. If such things are not acceptable for a man, why it should be for woman?” she added.

In a recent appearance on TV talk show “Aap Ki Adalat”, Kangana had said that Hrithik should apologise to her publicly for causing her trauma after their alleged relationship ended.

The actor also said her recent comment on her “Krrish 3” co-star was not a “promotional” gimmick, and she would continue to talk about him and their public feud whenever she is asked about it.

hqdefaultShilpa Shetty condemns the act of Bastian hotel bouncers mercilessly bashing up media photographers for just doing their job.
The actress along with husband Raj Kundra had gone out for dinner at Bastian restaurant in Bandra, Mumbai.

Upon learning the incident, Shilpa Shetty said that she’s “appalled” and “disappointed”.

Saying that even she belongs to the same fraternity, she posted an official statement about the same on her Instagram page:
“OMG, appalled and disappointed at the way these photographers were bashed up. Really unnecessary. I even posed for them before I left and the next thing I knew, they got into fisticuffs violently when I left. Feel bad for the paps they stand for hours sometimes for a shot. They are part of my fraternity and no one needs to be beaten for doing his job,” read Shilpa’s statement. In the caption space, Shilpa added three hashtags assuring the aggrieved photographers that the industry is with them. #solidarity #fraternity #standbyyou. (sic)”

The incident took place on late Thursday night, when Shilpa and Raj made an exit from the restaurant, and after clicking their pictures, the bouncers pounced upon the photographers, which left one of the photographers bleeding profusely.

Celebrities like Esha Gupta, Ayesha Shroff and many others were left disgusted after watching the video.

Esha Gupta commented on the video saying, “OMG, this is ridiculous. People responsible should know they not above the law.”
Tiger Shroff’s mom Ayesha Shroff wrote, “That’s awful!!! These guys are doing their job too. Respect everyone.”

‘Raaz Reboot’ actress Kriti Kharbanda also condemned the act. She said, “Damn! This is crazy.”

However, the restaurant owner has issued a statement, wherein they’ve assured they will change the security agency, which hired those bouncers.

It read, “We’re saddened and shocked by the incident that took place outside Bastian last night. We have celebrities and well-known guests visiting us frequently, and every experience has so far been smooth. During last night’s incident, the people involved were bouncers and security who are hired for Bastian via external vendors – as is the practice, the security services agency assigns their personnel to us and other establishments based on who is available that day. All the Bastian staff, as well as the management, was inside in the restaurant on the second floor at the time of the incident – we were made aware of the same a while after it began. This was a highly unfortunate situation that escalated beyond anything we could have imagined. As soon as the Bastian team found out, we took remedial measures to get things under control. We are changing security agencies today as we do not want to take the risk of this happening again, as well as personally apologising to the media involved. We are also collecting all information so that we are able to offer to take care of any and all medical bills that may have resulted due to this incident.

The 2 accused have been arrested.

emrEveryone has been under the weather for quite some time now, and blame it on the imbalanced climatic conditions that Emraan Hashmi also couldn’t escape the deadly viral. Despite, his ill-health, the actor dressed in a casual tee and jeans, paired with golden sunglasses, enters the mid-day office with all humility. Apart from the viral that has got everyone trapped, clicking selfies is another thing that has imprisoned everyone. While, the ‘Baadshaho’ star was travelling upstairs by the elevator, a fan requested him for a selfie, and Emraan politely obliged. After 14 years of Bollywood’s experience and the ups and downs, the once typecast actor, has managed to pop out of the cocoon and emerge as a changed person with a tremendous will-power. Here, in a candid tete-a-tete with mid-day, Emraan Hashmi speaks about his ‘Baadshaho’ success, being an introvert, his upcoming film ‘Captain Nawab’ and spills the beans about many unknown facets about himself and the film industry.

Here are some of the interesting aspects from the exclusive chat:

Q: Baadshaho has made decent collections at the Box Office and has also raked in good reviews. Which is that one reaction you received that touched your heart?
A: I had gone to Gaiety theatre to watch ‘Baadshaho’ along with the public. I was sitting on the last row and gauging the responses the audience was giving. What I observed was the audience really loved my character ‘Daliya’ and hooted each time I mouthed a dialogue. So, this is one reaction that will remain very close to my heart. After all, audience is the king.

Q: You’ve already started work on your maiden production venture ‘Captain Nawab,’ how is it going on and what is the film about?
Yes, I’m already working on it. ‘Captain Nawab’ is about a double spy, who works for both India and Pakistan and lands in trouble, when both sides realise Captain Nawab’s betrayal. The character lives at the edge in Pakistan. It is a war drama.

Q: As an actor, what suddenly happened that you transited from a serial kisser- romantic hero to a character actor?
I think an actor will be as good as the script. The product also depends on the great directors and team you work with. I started receiving challenging scripts after ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai,’ this film was in a way like a gamble for me. I was typecast as a serial kisser, people had this question-whether I could do anything else. They started thinking that how will we make a big banner film with him. Till you don’t do it, people don’t imagine you like that. The audience is very unpredictable. We aren’t sure what they want. So, I think this gamble taken by Ekta Kapoor and Milan Luthria with ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’ proved beneficial for me, and I got a sense of validation that I can do such roles too. Once you get a validation from the audience, you are motivated to try. Later, when people realised that I can do such roles, ‘Shanghai’ was offered to me. Every film of mine had another flavour, but ‘Awarapan’ didn’t work at the Box Office. But even now the recall value of ‘Awarapan’ is superb. I’m not that actor which I was 10 years ago. I’ve realised that you keep evolving as a person.

Q: If given an opportunity to revive the kind of romantic films you did earlier, would you take it up at this point of your career?
Yes, I would, but I would do it with a director, who perceives this world and this genre very well. For me, it has been romantic thrillers in the long run, and there was a Vishesh Films stamp in all those films. I will never do a film like that with Vishesh Films. I think we have lived our team together successfully, but for the audience it has become stale and much predictable. If I do it, I’ll do it with someone else, who has a different eye for thriller, which I’ve tried of all the versions of getting into in the next year with ‘Captain Nawab.’It’s a fabulous script that I’ve got. It’s very difficult to face the audience in lower weekend because they have become very much predictable, that’s because they’ve seen so much. In 14 years I’ve realised that a shocker and goner film would probably for me be such a stereotype. So, we have to break that and get the audience involved in the climax scene.

Q: So, how do you break that?
You need a class director, a class writer and a subject, which maybe I just haven’t tumbled upon.

Q: Any particular director or directors you have on your wish list for such a genre?
Anyone, who’s had a great taste in films. I’ve not seen SrIram Raghavan’s films (Badlapur/Raman Raghav/Agent Vinod/Johnny Gaddar) but I’ve seen the promos and heard fantastic things about the director. I like dark kind of cinema, and many of them have told me that ‘Badlapur’ is your kind of film, it’s like my taste, I like dark films, edgy characters and thriller. So, I think he’s one of them.

Q: Has it become difficult to choose scripts, since we have Hollywood films and alternate mediums like web series and Netflix for entertainment consumption?
Yes, it has become extremely difficult, because you see the Hollywood television content; it is more powerful than films, which has taken the world over by storm. So, according to that taste we have to make a film for the multiplex audience. There need not be a direct comparison, but the audience’s world view has increased tremendously. It’s not the same as ten years ago. The audience is very vocal about their tastes, with Twitter and social media, everything has become very transparent. They’ll write on Twitter that it’s a pathetic film, don’t waste your money, and then you can see a drastic dip in collections. So, you have to be very cautious. Unless, you’re not completely sure with something, don’t get into it. But then again, sometimes we are right, sometimes we are wrong.

Q: Years of hard work goes behind making a film, so what kind of a zone do you get into when the film fails to strike the right chord with the audience and tanks at the Box Office?
I can’t allow myself to get into a zone for very long. It only lasts for a couple of days. I don’t let it sink into me and jeopardise my forthcoming films. So, I think it’s more testing over here to deal with failures. Even success drives you crazy, but failure also gives you its better. If you don’t see a help and let it define you, then you’ll destroy your career. I detach from it. It’s the same with success, I don’t let it get into my head and roam around with a bloated feeling of being successful. So, failure doesn’t really affects me. I know people who shut themselves in the rooms and don’t get out of their houses, after their film flops. But you feel bad that you give so many days of your life, you wish you could receive some more appreciation.

Q: What do you do to cope up with failure, because you don’t socialise and you aren’t a party animal too?

If you go out it and party, it brings in more negativity, because you drink alcohol and that does nothing to make you feel better. I don’t drink alcohol. I have a fantastic will power. I can deal with calamities in my life and hardships in an extremely solid way. The worst calamity that you can get is your son diagnosed with cancer. I don’t go to parties, I don’t get insecure, don’t rush here and there for work, people have my house address, if they think I can contribute something to them as an actor, they’ll come and meet me.

Q: Every Emraan Hashmi film has beautiful soundtracks, so will we get to see glimpses of it in ‘Captain Nawab’ too?
We’re still hunting for music. It’s very tough to get good music. Even for ‘Baadshaho,’ we took one and a half year to get the tracks.

Q: Is having heart-touching music in your film, an added pressure on you?
It does builds pressure. Music doesn’t guarantee you the success of the film but it’s an added periphery that you have in films. Even ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ had soothing melodious tracks but that didn’t guarantee the film’s success. It’s also the audience, I can’t let them down. They have certain expectations from the film.
