So it turns out that the real life ‘wolf of wall street’, Jordan Belfort actually gave him tips and lessons on how to act high on drugs while filming the famous movie. In an interview, he explained the process of rehearsing. “I showed him what it looks and feel like when you are high on Quaalude. We were both on the floor, drooling. His father walked into the room and asked us what the f*ck we were doing.” Leonardo apparently even had all of it taped on video to rehearse in person and called them ‘lost Jordan tapes”.

Leonardo and Jonah Hills snorted vitamin powders and it turned out that Hills ended up in the hospital due to an overdose of those vitamin powders!

The night of the annual primetime Emmy Awards is awaited by the television industry and fans alike, and like every year, this year’s Awards night proved to be historic with several new records being set in the TV world.

It won’t be wrong to say that the ceremony, which unfolded on Sunday night with Stephen Colbert as the host, belonged to women. This year’s Emmys saw big wins for shows with women in the lead as “The Handmaid’s Tale”, “Big Little Lies” and “Veep” were each showered with awards in various categories.

Also, Lena Waithe became the first African-American woman to win an Emmy for her writing in “Master of None.”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus made history as she won ‘Best Actress in a Comedy Series’ for the sixth time for “Veep”, winning more Emmys for the same role than any actor.

It was also expected that one or the other streaming services would win an Emmy for ‘Best Drama’. The competition was tough between Netflix’s “Stranger Things” and Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” but Hulu’s win came as a surprise to many. 

The win in the drama category marks the first time a streaming series has earned the most prestigious prize at the awards. Not only this, the show also took home prizes for writing and direction.

“The Handmaid’s Tale”: The story is set in a dystopian future. A woman named Offred is a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead, a totalitarian and theocratic state that has replaced the United States of America. Because of dangerously low reproduction rates, Handmaids are assigned to bear children for elite couples that have trouble conceiving.

2. Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series

Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale): She stars as June Osborne/Offred, a Handmaid to Commander Fred Waterford and his wife.

3. Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series

Sterling K. Brown (This Is US): The TV series revolves around family lives and connections of several people who all share the same birthday and the ways in which they are similar and different.

4. Outstanding Limited Series

Big Little Lies: Ex-husbands and second wives, scandals and the dangerous little lies that are essential for survival, this mini-series will leave you wanting for more.

5. Outstanding Television movie

Black Mirror (San Junipero): This episode combines Black Mirror’s trademark futuristic vision with a beautifully told love story.

6. Outstanding Lead Actress In A Limited Series Or Movie

Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies): She plays the role of Celeste Wright who is one of the three lead female protagonists of the limited series.

7. Outstanding Lead Actor In A Limited Series Or Movie

Riz Ahmed (The Night Of): It is an eight-part limited series that delves into the story of a fictitious murder case in New York.

8. Outstanding Comedy Series

Veep: This political satire follows a former senator and her team as they attempt to make their mark and leave a lasting legacy while juggling with the day-to-day political games that define the American government.

9. Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series

Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep): Julia stars as Selina Meyer, a former Maryland Senator who, in the beginning of the series, is the titular Vice President, or ‘Veep’.

10. Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series

Donald Glover (Atlanta): The show is about two cousins navigating their way in Atlanta’s rap scene in an effort to improve their lives and their families’.

11. Outstanding Variety Talk Series

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: An American late-night talk television program hosted by comedian, John Oliver takes a satirical look at news, politics and current events.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra’s name was mispronounced as ‘Chopa’ at Emmys 2017 held at Microsoft Theater on Sunday in Los Angeles, California. Twitterati was up in arms after the announcer’s goof-up!

Priyanka Chopra stepped out in a figure-hugging white custom-made Balmain mermaid creation at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards. Priyanka, who presented an award at the ceremony, made heads turn with her full-sleeves ensemble, which was adorned with crystals and had a feather skirt train.

With her hair neatly tied in a ponytail, her lips done up in deep berry red and dramatic eye make-up, the ‘Quantico’ star exuded a fierce and powerful demeanour at the red carpet of the gala.

Priyanka Chopra, however, had an embarrassing moment on stage when the Emmys announcer mispronounced her name as ‘Chopa’.

We had met her recently at the Ganpati puja at Antilia and were delighted to find that Kavita Khanna, the dignified and graceful wife of the late Vinod Khanna, had put aside her grief and was once more participating in the swirl of life.

As is known, Kavita had set aside her life to care for the ailing and much-loved actor and politician, and had hardly been seen at social events over the past few years. Now, on the persuasion of her family and children, she had decided to re-enter the ebb and flow of daily life and her quiet and wistful presence, undoubtedly buffered by her spiritual studies, was a welcome validation of time and tide.

This weekend, Kavita and her lovely daughter Shraddha attended a pop-up dinner at a five-star hotel. They had opted for the vegetarian meal, while the budding actor Sakshi, who is the spitting image of his father, had dropped in the previous evening for the non-vegetarian option. Restaurateur-businessman and owner of Kolkata Knight Riders Jai Mehta, wine aficionado Sanjay Menon, and Gautam Singhania were also present on the occasion.

Shah tweeted, “Week 100 cleanup. @SrBachchan gifts 2 mean machines by to clean the oceans. Thank you sir. You are an angel to us and marine species.”

Big B had been part of the clean up campaign in August and was horrified to see the filth.

She looks striking as a cold-blooded killer who does not think twice before seducing and manipulating anyone, only to kill them eventually. In fact, her straight face and gawking eyes are reasons enough for anyone to fall for her charm. However, things turn wary when she falls for a CIA officer, played by Joel Edgerton. With ‘Red Sparrow’, Lawrence is reuniting with director Francis Lawrence, who has earlier worked with her in ‘The Hunger Games’ series. The movie is slated to release on March 2, 2018 and also stars Jeremy Irons, Mary-Louise Parker, Charlotte Rampling, and Matthias Schoenaerts.

'John Wick' Has A Release Date For Its Third Chapter, So All You Fans Can Now Cheer Up

Keanu Reeves is all set to reprise the role of John Wick for a third inning of the movie series. Not much has been divulged in terms of the storyline and premise that will form the structure of the movie but as per reports, the movie is gearing up for a May 2019 release.

The first part of the movie, which came in 2014 was a hit and fans loved Keanu. Chad Stahleski, the director threw some light about expanding the thriller series. “We want, not so much to go bigger on the third one, but to show you more of the intricacies of the world… I feel like there are all these different subtleties that I skipped over in Number Two, that I’d like to go back to on [chapter three] and show you the inner workings of different parts of New York. So rather than massive set pieces, I’d like to show you cooler and more intricate ones. I like telling stories from my one character’s perspective. Once you put that aside with the TV show, [you can] expand to all the different characters and follow them throughout their journey.”

He also explained how the original intention was to make just one movie. The idea of converting it into a whole series was not a part of the original plan.
