After leaving a mark on the world with the inspirational videos from experts from all walks of life, TED Talks is finally making its way towards India and our excitement knows no boundaries. That this show will be hosted by none other Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan makes it harder for us to wait for the show’s premiere. Shah Rukh Khan is known for his wit and humour, so when he dons the hat of a host for ‘TED Talks India: Nayi Soch’, we are sure none of us will be able to take our eyes off from the screen.

Although the show is expected to premiere in October, the line-up of speakers are already making us lose our minds. Director Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor and Writer-poet Javed Akhtar are among the speakers who have already shot their episodes. Well, apart from them there’s another special guest who will reportedly appear on the show. And that guest is Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai. According to a report in India Today, Pichai was teleported from California (Palo Alto) via Beam, a telepresence robot. The episode was reportedly shot on Monday, August 28.

For those who don’t know, this is not for the first time that Sundar Pichai and Shah Rukh Khan are interacting with each other on a reality show. However, their seats have been exchanged. In the year 2014, during the release of ‘Happy New Year’, Shah Rukh Khan joined Sundar Pichai as a guest for a Fireside Chat at the Googleplex. The show was undeniable the most hilarious and amazing interaction where Pichai and SRK brought the entire house down with their charm. Now that their roles have been reversed and SRK is going to interview Pichai and ask him about his journey, it will be fascinating to see them recreate that magic. It was the last day of shoot for the first schedule of Shah Rukh Khan’s TED Talks: Nayi Soch yesterday. During the course of the shoot, news came in about Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh being sentenced to 20 years in jail.

SRK took to the mic and said, “The director will perhaps not like it as it’s not part of the show, but I am happy to say Ram Rahim Singh has been sentenced.” The channel is not likely to air what SRK said about the self-styled godman who produced MSG: The Messenger.

SRK ahead of Salman, Akshay in world’s highest paid actors list

SRK--salman-and-akshay-kumarBollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is ahead of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar in Forbes magazines World’s Highest Paid Actors 2017 list, which is led by Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg.

The response to his last few Bollywood films like “Fan”, “Dear Zindagi”, “Raees” and “Jab Harry Met Sejal” at the box office notwithstanding, Shah Rukh still managed to rake in $38 million between June 1, 2016, and June 1, 2017 and is ranked eighth on the list, reports forbes.com.

Salman, who had one hit in “Sultan” and then a “Tubelight” that had dim earnings at the box office, was listed ninth with earnings of $37 million in the past one year.

Akshay, meanwhile, rounded off the top 10 with an income of $35.5 million. The National Award winning actor is having a golden run at the box office and has achieved success with all his films released in the past one year including “Housefull 3”, “Rustom”, “Jolly LLB 2”, “Naam Shabana” and the just released “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”.

Wahlberg has topped the list with earnings of $68 million thanks to Hollywood films like “Transformers: The Last Knight” and the forthcoming film “Daddy’s Home 2”.

He is followed by actors Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson ($65 million) and Vin Diesel ($54.5 million) at the second and third place.
Following them are Adam Sandler ($50.5 million) at the fourth position and Jackie Chan ($49 million) rounding off the top five.
The world’s 20 highest paid actors tallied a combined $720 million between June 1, 2016, and June 1, 2017, before fees and taxes. Earnings estimates are based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders, forbes.com said.

Ahead of Bollywood stars at the sixth and seventh position are Hollywood stars Robert Downey Jr ($48 million) and Tom Cruise ($43 million).

This year, the three Indian stars have left behind Hollywood stars like Chris Hemsworth ($31.5 million), Tom Hanks ($31 million), Samuel L. Jackson ($30.5 million), Ryan Gosling ($29 million), Ryan Reynolds ($21.5 million), Matt Damon ($21 million), Jeremy Renner ($19 million), Chris Evans ($18 million), Chris Pratt ($17 million) and Mark Ruffalo ($13 million).

Due to multiple cases filed at the same time, celebrity endorsers were targeted majorly in India in 2015. As a result of which Consumer Protection Bill, 2015, called for tough penalties which can include a fine of up to Rs 50 lakh and imprisonment of up to five years – for those irresponsible celebrities. They need to be cautious with the product which they decide to endorse. The law, however, does not restrict stupid advertisements, so let us today discuss the worse decisions our “favorite” celebrities have made.

In our opinion, Lux has always had simply hilarious ads (Not a compliment). But they definitely lowered their own bar with this ad in 2005 with SRK. Tell me if you don’t think that Hema Malini was photoshopped on it straight from the Kent ad. Obviously, people had doubts about the ad, in an interview, SRK revealed, “Some people think it’s a girlie ad, that it questions my sexuality. But I love the idea of getting into the tub, just as I had seen all my lovely leading ladies do.”

There is honestly no single fairness cream ad which made any amount of sense, but it is especially embarrassing when celebrities (actually their photoshopped doppelgangers) do them. Shahrukh Khan received a piercing dash of backlash for his fairness cream ad. But, obviously given it’s him, he had a witty and manipulating response to shut the haters.

Others who made money in the fairness obsessed country are Yami Gautam (For Fair And Lovely), John Abraham (For Garnier), Priyanka Chopra (Ponds White Beauty), and the most surprising one was Emraan Hashmi for MeGlow.

We were surprised for the only reason that we would honestly expect MeBlow from him not MeGlow.

It is strange how celebrities in India get away with such objectionable ads and land in trouble for making a movie about a historical character.

Malaika Arora Khan, Zandu Balm

The sketchy reason to include this here is the fact that she was forced to make this ad. Emami sent a legal notice to the Arbaaz Khan production for infringement of copyright and using “Zandu Balm” for Dabangg’s item song. The settlement not only made Malaika endorse Zandu Balm and self-nominate her name for Memes, but also parts of the song was used in the advertisement.

Foreign Invasion

Ads with foreign familiar faces and forced cultural appropriation instantly makes you laugh and then a little sad. In 2008, Bajaj managed to get Jackie Chan to star in this ad for Bajaj Discover DTSi. Although it was seemingly shot in China, but Chan did Namastey (talk about cultural appropriation). Pierce Brosnan, James Bond star, was tricked by Pan Bahar to endorse their products. On realizing that the product can contain ingredients causing cancer, he distanced himself from the endorsement of the same and demanded to take down all the advertisements, including him, but things stay with Internet forever, especially the things you don’t want.

Shah Rukh Khan visited Dilip Kumar late Tuesday evening to wish the legend good health. Wife Saira Banu took to Twitter to share photos from the evening. She wrote, “Sahab’s mooh-bola beta visited him. Sahab’s doing much better since return from the hospital.” King Khan was accompanied by daughter Suhana. He spent considerable time with the thespian and kissed him on his forehead while leaving.

A while ago, King Khan reportedly said his mother was a fan of Dilip Kumar and never missed his films. He has also said that she always thought he looked like the thespian. No doubt, there is an uncanny similarity between the two stars.

The Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ tanked badly at the box-office and was panned badly by the audiencess well. But defiant Imtiaz Ali and Shah Rukh Khan want to still defend the film even after the debacle. In an interview with Indian Express,  Imtiaz Ali said,  “Some said you really need to be intelligent to understand an Imtiaz Ali film. For me that was a blow. I feel that I have never been part of any intelligent club. I wanted to make a very simple film with all my heart. I have not made this film for praise. You know I would like to be the director who can make different kinds of films. This one is made to reach the maximum number of people. Not to just get praise for myself. I have been a veteran at this. When Tamasha released, lot of people praised the film but the film was not reaching the audience,” Imtiaz added, answering a question about the reviews Jab Harry Met Sejal has got since its Friday release.

Shah Rukh Khan, who worked with Imtiaz for the first time, echoed his director, saying the magic of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ will take time to latch onto people. “I have not seen Imtiaz Ali’s previous work. I have always believed the film should go beyond the subject and create some magic. I also believe people come with preconceived notion that they have seen already,” the 51-year old actor said. This statement has shocked everyone as Shah Rukh Khan had previously given a statement that he thinks Imtiaz Ali is a current day Yash Chopra.It has to be known as to how SRK could make a statement like that, if he claims to have not seen any of Imtiaz’s previous works.

SRK & Diplo's Song Phurrr From 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' Is Like An Expensive Champagne With No Fizz

Blame it on the maker or the music director, after creating so much buzz, the song Phurrr from ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ is finally out. And believe it or not, this song is all that you never asked for.

Well, it begins and not a single moment in the video impresses you. The least you can say is that it’s a lot like a nursery rhyme but not one that we loved or remember.

For days we couldn’t keep calm; after all, Shah Rukh Khan was collaborating with popular music producer Diplo and here’s the song we waited for so long. Phurrr, just like its name should Phurrr, so we don’t have to hear it again. The song is said to be based on Anushka Sharma’s character Sejal and we really hope it is nothing like this song or it will leave tons of us disappointed.

Remember the time Akon and SRK collaborated? Boy, even now when Chamak Challo and Criminal is played we can’t help ourselves but groove to the music. The same was expected this time…but it turned out to be a champagne with no fizz.

A look at the video and you will release that it looks like a work where no one cared enough about this huge collaboration. Neither SRK nor Diplo look interested in whatsoever is being done. You have senseless lyrics, bad background score, terrible visuals and weird choreography…this pretty much sums up what we feel after looking at SRK and Diplo together.

Anushka Sharma, during one of the promotional events, said romancing Shah Rukh Khan was quite easy and that he can even romance a microphone. The lead stars were joined by music director Pritam and film director Imtiaz Ali for the ‘Hawayeina’ song launch, where Anushka was quoted saying, “Romancing Shah Rukh was extremely easy! Shah Rukh Khan is the world’s most belowed superstar and it has been proved time and again. Which is why we assume, that he was paid a special visit by a furry fan in Filmcity, Mumbai. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror  , Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma were in for a rude shock when they were promoting ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ on the sets of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and filming a scene with Naksh (Rishi Dev) and Kirti (Mohena Singh), when an uninvited guest turned up on the sets.

A source revealed, “The shoot was to take place in the afternoon but ended up happening post-midnight owing to Shah Rukh and Anushka’s busy schedules. That particular area in Filmcity studio has always been susceptible to leopards wandering in from the wilderness. One of them turned up on the sets while shooting was in progress. SRK’s bodyguards saw it walk away with a puppy.” The incident took place at around 2 am. When the actor was apprised of the situation, he called for a break. The unit, shaken up after the incident, resumed work after regaining composure.

SRK Spends His Day Singing 'Lollypop Lagelu' For Anushka & Dancing On Bhojpuri Songs

If Shah Rukh Khan is the baadshah of Bollywood, then actor Manoj Tiwari is the king of the Bhojpuri films. So when the two kings crossed path with each other, sparks flew and how! Shah Rukh Khan is busy with the promotions of his upcoming film ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and recently visited Varanasi with the movie’s leading lady Anushka Sharma and Director Imtiyaz Ali. While, we have often seen SRK dance on the tunes of Bollywood songs and hum them as well, watching him sing a Bhojpuri number was definitely a shocking surprise for all of us. As expected, the crowd burst into cheers and hoots as he went on his knees and started singing ‘Lollypop Lagelu’ for Anushka Sharma. Honestly, we were having a lot of fun watching the king of romance sing one of the sleaziest songs ever made, and sheepishly singing them in our minds as well. But, the actor’s excitement was at the pinnacle and he didn’t really want to stop at singing (or attempting to sing) just one song. So he went ahead and grooved on some other Bhojpuri hits along with Tiwari who was singing the songs.
