Shilpa Shetty celebrated her son’s Viaan’s birthday at an old-age home and posted the video on social media. The actress was trolled for broadcasting her deeds online

Shilpa Shetty celebrated her son, Viaan Raj Kundra’s sixth birthday on Tuesday, May 22. As a tradition, the actress’ family visits an old-age home to celebrate the day with senior citizens. She followed the same and visited an old-age home with son, husband Raj Kundra and mother Sunanda Shetty.

Shilpa Shetty posted a video of her family distributing sweets to the people in the old-age orphanage. She uploaded the video and captioned it as, “Keeping up with tradition of dinner at the #littlesistersofthepoor ,an old age home . They have very few visitors and the joy on their faces when someone comes and visits them is priceless.Nothing more powerful than to start my sons birthday with Blessings..Thankyou for all your blessings and wishes as well instafam. Loads of #gratitude #happiness #blessings #love #unconditionallove (sic).”

However, the actress was accused of broadcasting her deeds. “Distributing the cheapest fruit available and broadcasting on Instagram. Sunday binge doesn’t seem so simple. Stop this show off (sic),” read a comment on Shilpa Shetty’s Instagram post.

To which, the fitness expert gave a bang on reply. She wrote, “It’s sad you think this way. Yes, we personally served them a full dinner service after this. I only put it up here for ‘awareness’ so more people can get directed to this cause or contribute to this place that needs help.

And like I said, this is tradition for us, our parents have been taking us here for years and I continue that with my child. Broadcasting to show off is never my intent,” added Shilpa.

Later, in the evening, the family threw a birthday bash for friends and family.

Director, Producer Karan Johar said that he was ‘honoured’ to win the best talk show host award for ‘Koffee with Karan’. “karanjoharHonoured to have won the prestigious #dadasahebphalkeaward for best talk show host #koffeewithkaran … wearing @manishmalhotra05 styled by @nikitajaisinghani,” he posted on Instagram.

Jennifer Winget, who won the Best actress drama award thanked her friends and family. “I stand proud tonight with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award … a nudge to edge me on on the path I am currently on. Humbled and Honoured at the same time. Couldnt be more grateful to my family of fans, friends and the fraternity. Thank you. Another good night indeed!,” a post from Winget read.

Meanwhile, Karan Patel thanked TV producer Ekta Kapoor for the award. “Honoured to recieve the #DadasahebPhalke #ExcellenceAward for #BestActorOnTelevision. @ektaravikapoor this would have not been possible without you …! Love you Ektaaaa,” he wrote.

Shilpa Shetty’s pet cat Simba is back home. The furry feline, which went missing on Wednesday (as reported in hitlist yesterday), was found in her neighbourhood in Juhu by a security guard. A relieved Shilpa tells us that she will put a GPRS tracking device so that he can never get lost. But most cats are clever enough to find their way home.

On April 20, the actor-entrepreneur posted a picture of the pet and wrote, “Found out through our cameras that Simba walked out of the house around 2 pm on Wednesday. We are desperately searching for him in and around Juhu. He’s a beige Himalayan Persian with a grey furry tail. Really worried he hasn’t eaten or had water (it’s so hot). If someone has found him please feed him wet food, he doesn’t like dry food (sic).”

Veteran actress Sridevi, 54, passed away in Dubai after cardiac arrest, engulfing the entire country in a pall of gloom. From Indian stars to Indian political personalities to Pakistani icons, her fans and admirers expressed shock and disbelief.

In a moving gesture, Indian industrial magnate Anil Ambani sent an aircraft to Dubai to bring back Sridevi Kapoor’s mortal remains to India later on Sunday.

Actor Shilpa Shetty has apologised for allegedly using a casteist term in a recent interview, saying her words had been misconstrued and it was not her intention to hurt anyone’s feelings.

The Mumbai Police yesterday said they were looking into a complaint, seeking the filing of an offence against Shilpa and Salman Khan for allegedly using a casteist phrase. The 42-year-old actor issued an apology on Twitter. “Some of my words from an interview in the past have been misinterpreted. It was never said with the intent of hurting anyone’s feelings…”I apologise if they have. I’m proud to belong to a country that boasts of diverse castes and creeds and I respect each one of them,” Shilpa wrote.The complaint was filed at the Andheri police station by Navin Ramchandra Lade, the general secretary of the Rojgar Aghadi Republican Party of India, seeking that a case be lodged against the two actors for allegedly using the casteist term, the police said.

The “Tiger Zinda Hai” actor, salman Khan had used the term during a TV show, the complaint read. The complainant also submitted recordings of the remarks made by the actors to the police, who said they had received the complaint, but no case was registered as yet.”No case has been registered until now. We are verifying the jurisdiction and other aspects of the complaint. Action will be taken, based on our probe,” senior inspector of the Andheri police station Pandit Thorat said.

Currently in Los Angeles, Leone says, “We wanted to do our bit for Shilpa’s foundation.”

Shilpa Shetty appeared on Farah Khan’s Lip Sing Battle as a friendly gesture. Her contract for Super Dancer 2 with Sony TV bars her from featuring on any show, except her own. While Shetty initially didn’t realise she had breached the contract, we hear the actor, who danced to Amitabh Bachchan’s number on Farah’s show, has now amended her contract. As for Farah, she took to Twitter to share a snapshot of Shilpa in her Bachchan avatar.

Shilpa Shetty’s Bodyguard FIGHTS With Media Photoghapher

hqdefaultShilpa Shetty condemns the act of Bastian hotel bouncers mercilessly bashing up media photographers for just doing their job.
The actress along with husband Raj Kundra had gone out for dinner at Bastian restaurant in Bandra, Mumbai.

Upon learning the incident, Shilpa Shetty said that she’s “appalled” and “disappointed”.

Saying that even she belongs to the same fraternity, she posted an official statement about the same on her Instagram page:
“OMG, appalled and disappointed at the way these photographers were bashed up. Really unnecessary. I even posed for them before I left and the next thing I knew, they got into fisticuffs violently when I left. Feel bad for the paps they stand for hours sometimes for a shot. They are part of my fraternity and no one needs to be beaten for doing his job,” read Shilpa’s statement. In the caption space, Shilpa added three hashtags assuring the aggrieved photographers that the industry is with them. #solidarity #fraternity #standbyyou. (sic)”

The incident took place on late Thursday night, when Shilpa and Raj made an exit from the restaurant, and after clicking their pictures, the bouncers pounced upon the photographers, which left one of the photographers bleeding profusely.

Celebrities like Esha Gupta, Ayesha Shroff and many others were left disgusted after watching the video.

Esha Gupta commented on the video saying, “OMG, this is ridiculous. People responsible should know they not above the law.”
Tiger Shroff’s mom Ayesha Shroff wrote, “That’s awful!!! These guys are doing their job too. Respect everyone.”

‘Raaz Reboot’ actress Kriti Kharbanda also condemned the act. She said, “Damn! This is crazy.”

However, the restaurant owner has issued a statement, wherein they’ve assured they will change the security agency, which hired those bouncers.

It read, “We’re saddened and shocked by the incident that took place outside Bastian last night. We have celebrities and well-known guests visiting us frequently, and every experience has so far been smooth. During last night’s incident, the people involved were bouncers and security who are hired for Bastian via external vendors – as is the practice, the security services agency assigns their personnel to us and other establishments based on who is available that day. All the Bastian staff, as well as the management, was inside in the restaurant on the second floor at the time of the incident – we were made aware of the same a while after it began. This was a highly unfortunate situation that escalated beyond anything we could have imagined. As soon as the Bastian team found out, we took remedial measures to get things under control. We are changing security agencies today as we do not want to take the risk of this happening again, as well as personally apologising to the media involved. We are also collecting all information so that we are able to offer to take care of any and all medical bills that may have resulted due to this incident.

The 2 accused have been arrested.

Shah-Rukh-Khan-houseTuesday night saw most of Bollywood turn up at a new Indian restaurant designed by Gauri Khan in Bandra, to bring in a leading Bollywood publicist and talent manager’s birthday.

Though we walked in late, post midnight, and missed the cutting of the cake, we managed to spot familiar faces like Shilpa Shetty, a very cool looking Jackie Shroff (dressed in a leather jacket with his trademark sunglasses on), Sushant Singh Rajput, who appeared particularly energetic surrounded by many a lissome lass around the bar, along with Nawazuddin Siddique, Sonu Sood, Bipasha Basu, Preity Zinta and what has become the lietmotif of such gatherings: a slew of ladies in LBDs like Kanika Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari and Kriti Sanon, along with a handful of non-filmy folk like Baba Siddiqui, Suhel Seth and Shalini Sharma.

But everything stopped when a haggard, (but in a nice way) pony-tailed slight figure slipped into the party’s wee hours. It was SRK; flaunting his (post Jab Harry Met Sejal?) distressed look. The actor, who we met at the bar, soon proceeded to a corner of the restaurant and occupied a table, on which he was ensconced for the rest of the time while one by one guests queued up to greet the Badshah.

But all it took was the resident DJ to put on ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’, and before you could say twinkle toes, the superstar was on his feet, recreating his famous moves on the train top to the delight of all. And from then, there was no stopping him. His latest hit track ‘Phurr’ produced by the famous international artist Diplo had him demonstrating the courage of his convulsions with gusto. Some Tuesday night!
