With the Disco Disco song from her upcoming film, A Gentleman, climbing the charts, Jackie’s fingers are tightly crossed.

Tarun Mansukhani’s Dostana starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra released in 2008. Though there was talk of a sequel, it never took off. He then got busy with the animation flick, Koochie Koochie Hota Hai, which did not see light of day either.

The director’s next Bollywood outing, Drive, which features Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez is slated to release on March 2, next year; it is being touted as a Holi release. It took Tarun 10 years to hit the marquee again — a rather long and patient journey.

Rajkummar Rao's imposter sends obscene messages on Facebook

Money laundering cases under pseudonyms, especially those of celebrities or influential figures, are not uncommon, and the latest to fall prey to a similar case is Rajkummar Rao. Rao, under whose name a fake account has been created on social networking site Facebook, is set to lodge a complaint with the Cyber Crime Cell on Monday, after he was alerted about the fictitious account by a friend.

The imposter, it has been suggested, has been sending messages to people on the platform, notifying them of a casting requirement, and attempting to extract money in the process. There have also been reports of obscene messages being sent from the account.

Apart from bringing the incident to the notice of Facebook, Rao also took to his handle to share: “Guys, this is an imposter. I only have one account on FB which is a verified one. Be aware of such people. Usually actors have verified accounts. Don’t trust the ones who don’t.”

Given his shooting commitments for Hansal Mehta’s film on Subhash Chandra Bose in Ladakh, Rao was unable to use his account for a while. A source tells us, “All of this transpired while he was away from social media. Luckily, no one has lost money or been adversely affected. It is expected that the account will be pulled down by Facebook soon. Meanwhile, the officials of Cyber Crime Cell have been informed of it.”

The last schedule of the upcoming comedy film ‘Judwaa 2’, which was being shot in Mauritius, has been wrapped up.

Actor Varun Dhawn on Friday night shared a photograph of the team on Twitter.

In the image the ‘Badlapur’ actor was seen along with actresses Jacqueline Fernandez, Taapsee Pannu and his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, posing for the camera in an aircraft.

“It’s a wrap on the last schedule of ‘Judwaa 2’. The entire gang is here…Love Mauritius. The original was also shot in Mauritius so we had come back,” Varun captioned the image.

Taapsee shared the same image and captioned it: “And it’s a wrap on project number 22 — ‘Judwaa 2’. Such a perfect schedule to end it with. See you in theatres on September 29 2017”.

She also shared a breezy bikini picture of her on the beach and captioned it, “You can always be a part of the ocean but what makes u stand out is your ability to create ripples….. Enroute home #ScheduleWrap #Judwaa2”

The film is a sequel to the filmmaker’s 1997 film “Judwaa” starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha.

George Clooney to sue paparazzi for taking ‘illegal’ images of twins

Hollywood actor George Clooney is planning to sue paparazzi for taking illegal photographs of his newborn twins — Ella and Alexander — during their vacation in Italy.

A French magazine published the images of George and his wife Amal holding their children at their estate in Lake Como.

“The very first pictures of the twins in the arms of their parents. Do not miss all our exclusive photos,” the cover of the magazine read.

“Over the last week photographers from Voici magazine scaled our fence, climbed our tree and illegally took pictures of our infants inside our home. Make no mistake — the photographers, the agency and the magazine will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” George said in a statement.

The statement added: “The safety of our children demands it.”

In response to George’s statement, a representative for the French magazine told said: “George and Amal Clooney have been very public personalities for the last few years. Their wedding in Venice, in September 2014, was a very mediatic event; the pictures of them smiling to the public were seen all around the world. The birth of their twins, Ella and Alexander, had also been commented a lot, by themselves and their families.”

The representative added: “The images published in Voici this Friday are a response to a public demand. People love George Clooney and have been following his life story for years now. Those pictures do not put in danger Mr. Clooney, his wife or their kids.”

It was part of the promotions for their film, Jab Harry Met Sejal. As the two were tied up with promo shoots elsewhere, the shoot was pushed to 8 pm and later, midnight.

By the time SRK and Anushka arrived on the show’s set, it was almost 1 am. Despite a long, gruelling day, the stars shot with the TV folk till almost 4 am.

Film industry workers union to strike again

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), the film industry workers’ union, will go on strike from August 15. The cause, they say, is the producers’ bodies like IMPPA and IFTPC) and their failure to revise their remuneration. Dilip Pithwa, FWICE General Secretary, says, “When we went on strike in October 2015, we were told that we’d get 11 per cent wage hike in 2016 and another 11 per cent in 2017.

Pithwa adds, “We didn’t complain about not getting the increment last year. Now, we are only asking for 11 per cent, which most filmmakers have agreed on, but the TV producers claim that [it will be difficult for them since] they are not doing well. I’ve spoken to broadcasters and they have agreed to pay 7.5 per cent of the sum. The TV producers only need to shell out 3.5 per cent.”

JD Majithia of Indian Film and TV Producers Council (IFTPC), says, “We have agreed to the 7.5 per cent hike and the workers agreed to it too.”

Going on strike, says Pithwa, was the only available option for FWICE, because the members are upset about not being taken care of by the producers. “We lost four production executives on set due to stress. Our members work beyond working hours and don’t even get paid for their phone bills and conveyance,” says Pithwa.

FWICE will make an official announcement about the strike later this week.

In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, Akshay Kumar admitted that he was touched inappropriately as a kid by a lift-man.Akshay Kumar, while speaking at a seminar on women’s safety alongside Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently, took everyone by surprise when he briefly digressed to address the subject of child abuse. He recounted a personal horror story that involved him as a six-year-old boy and a seemingly harmless lift-man, and urged the audience to encourage kids to communicate. He said

“When I was a child, my parents always encouraged me to speak to them frankly about everything. Whether it was discussing a sexual issue or inappropriate behaviour, I was asked to come home and talk frankly.

When I was six, I was on my way to a neighbour’s house when the lift man touched my butt. I was really agitated and told my father (Hari Om Bhatia) about it. He filed a police complaint. Investigations revealed that the lift-man was a history-sheeter.

The cops took action and the man was arrested. I was a shy kid and was relieved that I could speak about this to my parents. But even today, I find it difficult to say the word ‘bum’.We must encourage women and children to speak up and tell their families if they encounter anything strange so that they can be protected and empowered.” On the work front Akshay Kumar will be next seen in ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha opposite Bhumi Pednekar.
