Mumbai, Dec 18: Sridevi may have made a comeback with critically acclaimed “English Vinglish”, but her daughter Jhanvi is in no mood to enter Bollywood, at least now.

“I don’t know. I am still studying and it’s too early. I am very indecisive,” the 15-year-old said here Monday at the unveiling of the cover of People magazine featuring Sridevi.

Jhanvi says that she changes her career plans every week, sometimes she wants “to be a spy” or “an archaeologist” or a “writer”.

“So I really don’t know,” she added.

Meanwhile, Sridevi feels her daughters – Jhanvi and Khushi – should finish their studies first.

“Whatever decision they take, I am with them. I always tell them whatever they do, they have to give their best. First, they have to finish their studies,” Sridevi said.

Mumbai, Dec 18: The Bigg Boss house in this season will always be remembered for Imam Siddique’s unusual behaviour as this time again the contestant is in controversy and is heated up again for yet another reason.

After his heated argument with Delnaaz Irani over his nomination for eviction, Imam is now upset with Niketan Madhok.

Imam addressed Niketan as a rotten apple in the group that is spoiling the rest. After which Sapna Bhavnani, Urvashi Dholakia and Niketan exchanged some facial expressions. This offended Imam.

Imam feels that the housemates are plotting something about him. He approaches captain Delnaaz and tells her that he can hear the inmates are plotting against him to which Delnaaz replies that they were laughing at an internal joke. But Imam remains stubborn.

After sometime Imam passed demeaning comments and asked Niketan to clean the toilet after using it. Without giving any reply Niketan stepped out of the washroom.

One good thing about Siddique is that he is obsessed with hygiene and often gets upset with the mound of clothes near the bathroom and dirty toilet.

After sometime, Niketan went into the captain’s washroom before Imam wanted to. Imam followed Niketan out till the dining area and shouted at him for using the washroom before him. The rest of the housemates shared a big laugh at this incident.

Later, Imam went in and takes a long time to come out. Meanwhile, Karishma Kotak, Urvashi Dholakia and a few others wanted to use the washroom urgently.

Delnaaz tried to get Imam out but he took his own time. Irked housemates complained to Bigg Boss via a camera. After Imam eventually comes out, the housemates react to Imam’s nuisance

Shahid Kapoor is currently shooting for Phata Poster Nikla Hero.

The young actor is very focused on his work and is putting his best foot forward. Shahid spends most of his time on sets and even after pack up, he sits back with crew members to go over the technicalities of his next schedules.

Phata Poster Nikla Hero is essentially shot in different parts of Mumbai. Last week, Shahid had to shoot an intense scene, in a crowded market area source “Even though the film makers managed to get permission from the authorities, the crowd was extremely difficult to handle and execution was becoming a hassle.

In addition to that the streets were narrow and there was no place to park a vanity van” When Shahid was informed of the issue, he asked the production not to fret and make any temporary arrangements. The production managed to get a nearby Udipi restaurant to close shutters and make it a changing room.

Shahid offered to travel to the location nearby on a bike. Instead of throwing tantrums on the non-availability of a van, Shahid simply had the eating joint’s shutters pulled down while he changed,” says the source.

“But the moment the restaurant’s shutters opened, and they saw Shahid step out, the crowds simply multiplied and soon the entire area was buzzing with excitement.

We were worried because Shahid’s scene was an intense, emotionally charged one and with the distractions around, we were prepared to shoot for at least eight to ten hours,” adds the insider. But Shahid surprised them when despite the commotion around, he managed to deliver all his scenes in a single take.

“Santoshi is a stickler for perfection, and Shahid himself is very critical about his work. The shot was a long one and needed a degree of expertise to deliver the perfect emotion. But he gave a perfect shot in one take. And he kept doing that with every shot, so what was actually to take eight hours, was wrapped up in two hours’ time.

The crew was amazed at his focus and preparation and unanimously stood up to give him a standing ovation. In fact, he even got an ovation from the crowds, who had actually quitened down as they were engrossed in watching Shahid perform,” says the crew member.

In Bollywood today, the filmmakers are always on a look out for subjects that no one has touched upon, but which exist in the society. One such topic is that of sexual harassment at the workplace, which exactly is the subject of Sudhir Mishra’s forthcoming film Inkaar. The film stars Arjun Rampal with Chitrangda Singh.

And since the film has been shot in advertising agencies across Mumbai, especially in Leo Burnett and Grey Worldwide to showcase advertising office as is, Sudhir was planning to give a thank you slate to both the agencies for providing the location. But post the film’s trailers, pat came the reply from both the agencies that they don’t want any branding or reference of their agency in film. The spokesperson of Inkaar says, “We have shot extensively in advertising agencies. However, story can be set in any environment. And it deals with sexual dynamics in an office. We would speak to agencies as this is our way of saying thank you.”

However, apparently the fear that any reference would mean that their agency is somehow directly or indirectly linked to the film is being assumed as the reason for agencies to refuse any kind of association with the film.

Bengal 116 (A Das 73, Anwar 5-44, Ashish Reddy 5-51) and 183 for 6 (Banerjee 56, Saha 52*) beat Hyderabad 115 (Shami 4-36) and 181 (Akshath Reddy 49, Ashish Reddy 42, Shami 6-71) by four wicketsScorecard

Bengal overcame early and late wobbles in their chase of 181 to seal victory over Hyderabad by four wickets at Eden Gardens. Bengal were 47 for 3 at one stage, before opener Rohan Banerjee and wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha revived the innings. Hyderabad kept chipping away, though. Anwar Ahmed had Banerjee caught behind and bowled Laxmi Shukla to reduce Bengal to 167 for 6, but Saha was around to guide them to victory. Bengal nearly doubled their points tally from seven to 13, and had to thank the fast bowler Shami Ahmed for that. After taking four wickets in the Hyderabad first innings, Shami grabbed six more in the second innings as the visitors could add only nine runs to their overnight 172 for 7 this morning. It was 22-year old Shami’s second ten-wicket haul in 15 first-class games.

Punjab 148 and 354 for 8 (f/o) (Yuvraj 131, Jiwanjot 103, Amitoze 52, G Yadav 4-86) lead Madhya Pradesh 323 by 179 runsScorecard

Yuvraj Singh, back to the domestic grind after being left out of the Test squad, and Jiwanjot Singh, the in-form opener, hit centuries as Punjab fought back in their follow-on innings in Gwalior. Jiwanjot hit his fourth hundred of his debut season, while Yuvraj smashed 15 fours and four sixes on his way to 131 off 150 deliveries. The duo knocked off the deficit of 175, and had started to build a lead when Jiwanjot fell to Gaurav Yadav, playing his second first-class game. Yadav removed the Punjab captain Mandeep Singh and Uday Kaul cheaply next. When Anand Rajan had Yuvraj caught, Punjab were 277 for 6, a lead of 102. Amitoze Singh hit a breezy fifty and ensured Punjab had a decent lead of 179 by stumps.

Rajasthan 135 (Anureet 5-40) and 152 for 3 (f/o) (Chouhan 51) trail Railways 405 by 117 runsScorecard

Railways medium-pacer Anureet Singh took a five-for as Rajasthan were blown away for 135 in their first innings in reply to Railways’ 405 in Bhubaneshwar. The highest any Rajasthan batsman managed was 27, by Ashok Menaria. Ranjitkumar Mali picked up 3 for 42, including the big wickets of Menaria and Rashmi Parida. Railways, with only seven points from five games and in search of an outright win, enforced the follow-on. Rajasthan batted much better the second time, opener Sourabh Chouhan leading the way with a fifty. Robin Bist and Menaria had put on an unbroken 44 for the third wicket by stumps, but Rajasthan still needed another 117 to avoid an innings defeat.

Saurashtra 248 for 8 (Vasavada 83*, Jaydev Shah 60) trail Mumbai 606 for 5 dec (Tare 222, Rohit 166, Jaffer 79, Nayar 69*) by 358 runsScorecard

Mumbai were set to take a huge first-innings lead on a slow day in Rajkot as Saurashtra lost eight wickets in pursuit of the visitors’ mammoth total. Ajit Agarkar, Dhawal Kulkarni, Javed Khan and Iqbal Abdulla took two wickets each. The home captain Jaydev Shah made 60 and there were a couple of thirties but the major contribution was from Aarpit Vasavada, who was unbeaten on 83 off 231 deliveries. But unfortunately for Saurashtra, there is little support left for him at the other end.

India on Sunday reacted strongly to Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik statement that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Abu Jundal was an operative of an elite Indian intelligence agency, saying it was a “ridiculous” remark.

“Such a statement is ridiculous. Jundal was working with the LeT in Pakistan’s soil when the Mumbai terror attack was carried out,” Home Secretary R K Singh said.

Singh was reacting to Malik’s statement during the day that Jundal was working as an agent of an elite Indian intelligence agency.

On Malik’s remark that Indian agencies could have prevented the Mumbai terror attack, the Home Ministry in a statement said the main issue was that the Mumbai terror attack was conceived and planned and directed from the soil of Pakistan.

Pakistan did not take any action against these terrorist elements when the plan was being conceived and put into effect, it said.

The Home Ministry also said even after the Mumbai terror attack when full facts were known to the world, Pakistan was hesitating to take action against key conspirators and key operatives.

Money is not everything, says Sandeep SinghNew Delhi: A visibly dejected Sandeep Singh, India`s top drag-flicker, said he was not disappointed at being sold for the base price to Mumbai Magicians as a marquee player in the Hockey India League (HIL) auction held here Sunday.

Sandeep, who was dropped from the national team after a poor run at the London Olympic Games, was bought by Mumbai outfit for his reserve price of $27,800.

Asked whether he was disappointed, Sandeep said: “Money is not everything in life. The league will be a big affair. I am looking forward to play in it.”

But it was Australian defender Joel Caroll who ensured that Sandeep gets a better pay package. Caroll was bought by Mumbai for $56,000 and as a marquee player Sandeep will be getting 15 percent more than what the Australian was sold for.

Sandeep, however, said the league will not only help the profile of the game in the country but also world hockey.

“I am sure it will be a great tournament. We not only have some of the best players in the world but also some of the top coaches are here. It will be a great learning experience,” he said.
