Kangana Ranaut and writer Apurva Asrani had sparred over the writing credits for Hansal Mehta’s Simran. Yesterday, things got uglier when Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel, slammed Apurva in a series of tweets.

Asrani recently tweeted, “I hired my brother as addnl writer on my new film. Kangana hired her sister as manager and now promotes her brother. All guilty of nepotism? (sic)” Rangoli retorted, “I am her sister and I am with her in that capacity, my brother is a pilot and don’t you dare to bring him in to this.” She also accused Asrani of using Kangana’s name for publicity.

Kangana-Ranaut-injured Kangana Ranaut got severely injured while shooting for an intense sword-fighting sequence with co-star Nihar Pandya, when the latter’s sword hit and deeply cut her forehead. The actress was rushed to the ICCU and had to get 15 stitches on her forehead. According to reports, the accident happened when Kangana got the timing wrong in an action sequence and was hit by Pandya’s sword. It made a deep cut on her forehead and the examining doctor observed that it was a close shave for her because the cut had been very close to the bone.

The film’s producer Kamal Jain said that the action scene had been rehearsed several times and Kangana had insisted on doing the scene herself instead of employing a body double. As the sword made a deep cut between her eyebrows, Kangana put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding. Her co-star Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but the ‘Queen’ actress tried to pacify him. The report further suggests that the injury might leave a scar on Kangana’s face, but she has decided to flaunt it for her film where she is playing Rani Lakshmibai. She will be in the hospital under observation for the next few days. Kangana might have to go in for a cosmetic surgery once the shoot is wrapped up.

After sparking off a controversy with his nepotism debate at the IIFA Awards in New Jersey over the weekend, filmmaker Karan Johar, actors Saif Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan received flak on social media with Twitteraties calling their act ‘disappointing’. Karan and Saif, who were hosting the gala, revisited the much-talked about issue that started in Bollywood when ‘Queen’ star Kangana Ranaut branded Karan as a “flagbearer of nepotism” on his chat show.When Varun Dhawan joined the two actors on the stage at the Metlife Stadium to receive the Best Performance in a Comic Role for ‘Dishoom’, Saif joked that the actor had made it big in the industry because of his father, director David Dhawan. “You are here because of your papa,” Saif Ali Khan quipped.Varun said: “And you’re here because of your mummy (veteran actress Sharmila Tagore).”Karan then promptly added: “I am here because of my papa (late filmmaker Yash Johar).”They then said in unison: “Nepotism rocks”. On Twitter, a string of criticism followed, describing what the personalities said as unfunny and joking about actress Kangana Ranaut in her absence. Here are some tweets:
