Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania, is themed around a wedding. Kareena will play the part of a bride-to-be in the movie. ” Veere Di Wedding looks so different. There should be more such films, this should be the norm,” Sonam told PTI.

“In Hollywood there are many female-oriented films that are such big blockbusters and are entertaining. We don’t have such films in India.” The actor believes Hindi film industry is 20 years behind when it comes to making female-led commercial stories. “Julia Roberts was huge in the ’80s and ’90s. Here it was about my dad (Anil Kapoor) and the other actors. The ’90s were about the Khans (Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman). With our generation, we are atleast getting the opportunity to do that, but we are 20 years behind,” she said. Sonam, 32, said working alongside a top female actor like Kareena, who also happens to be her good friend, for the first time in a movie was exciting. “It is easy to communicate especially when it is a chemistry-driven film with four women. Since we are friends, it was a fun experience working with her.” Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the film is set for release on May 18.

The “Neerja” actor also reunites with “Saawariya” co-star Ranbir Kapoor for Sanjay Dutt biopic. Sonam said the actor has not changed much over the years. “I don’t think I have changed either. He is such a fine actor. We just have 10 years of experience. But it was fabulous working with him. We shot in ND studios for ‘Saawariya’ and for this film we shot at the same place. So it was deja vu.” Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, the biopic on Dutt is scheduled for release in March.

A source reveals, “He will be performing in Delhi and Mumbai. The shows will be held towards the end of 2018.” This will mark the Grammy Award winner’s second visit to India after his Delhi and Mumbai gigs in 2012.

Excited about performing his hit song, Temperature, in India, Paul says, “The love and affection I received from India during my last trip was commendable. I can’t wait to visit again, because I love India’s culture. Indians make a great audience. I’m sure I’ll entertain them.”

India's First Space Film 'Tik Tik Tik' Kills Logic In Their Quest To Steal A Missile From Space

The day the trailer of Tamil movie ‘Tik Tik Tik’ was released, people couldn’t hold on to their excitement for reasons people thought were obvious. 

First, it’s being touted as India’s first space film.

Second, amazing cinematography and visuals that can give any Hollywood movie a run for its money…

And third, which we feel shouldn’t go unnoticed, its plot that makes no sense whatsoever, no matter how hard we try to put our brains to it.

Within 5 days of its release, the trailer already has nearly 3.6 million views and we guess it’s partly because people like us are watching it again and again trying to find logic that was probably lying hidden somewhere.

The trailer started on a really high note and there were many who found the plot strikingly similar to ‘Armageddon’. The trailer begins with an asteroid hitting the Earth, particularly Chennai that spreads panic, fear and hysteria among the people.

We too thought that the movie will be similar to the 1988 film until the protagonist Jayam Ravi was introduced. Ravi is sent to space to destroy those asteroids that will soon hit the ground and save the world.

So what made the Indian Department of Defence pick Ravi? Is he one of the greatest scientists? No. Is he the best astronaut from the lot? No. He is given this pivotal job because he is a magician who can escape from any given situation. Wait, what?

Okay, I don’t want to sound like someone who looks for logic everywhere, but on one hand when people are discussing about millions of lives at stake since an asteroid is going to hit India within a week, the best solution that the Defense team could come up with was to get a trained magician to hack into a vault to steal a missile that can destroy the asteroids.

Why is he asked to steal it? Because it is a 200 kilotons nuclear missile that is kept in a secure vault that actually belongs to a space station owned by some other country. And because of diplomatic reasons, they can’t come to a mutual understanding with them. *Slow claps* anyone?

In fact, our hero is so talented that in a micro-gravity environment, he plays chess as if it’s child’s play.

However, we also have Tamil songs like ‘Inky Pinky Ponky’, which will make you feel that a weird plot like this is completely normal. To refresh your memories and make your ears bleed, here’s the iconic song. 

 

Too much in the name of creative freedom! But, we also have our counterparts in the west that made a whole franchise with a bunch of ‘intelligent’ apes ruling the planet. At least, Director Shakti Soundar Rajan is still using humans here.  

The makers also managed to rope in Aaron Aziz, a Singaporean actor who is largely popular in Malaysia and Singapore.

The makers seem to have spent gigantic amounts of money on special effects and the film’s sets; and we are extremely impressed with the end result. After ‘Baahubali’, if there’s anything that has won our hearts, it is the VFX of this movie.

The film also features Nivetha Pethuraj who is trained in Jiu Jitsu and kickboxing. The movie is slated for a December 22 release and we honestly can’t wait for it to hit the theatres just to see how the makers manage to justify a magician goes up in space to save lives of millions of people.

It's India calling for Elizabeth Hurley again

After Hollywood star Halle Berry surprised many by posting ‘desi’ moments from her Mumbai tour on social media, British model and actress Elizabeth Hurley is also coming to the country’s financial and film capital here.

According to a well-placed source, Hurley, who was once married to Arun Nayar, a businessman of Indian origin, will be in India till November 17.

“She will be coming to Mumbai tonight or tomorrow. She will be in India till November 17,” the source told IANS.

The reason which is bringing Hurley, who was last seen on the small screen in “The Royals”, to India, has been kept under wraps.

Hurley’s affair with India started when she got married to businessman Nayar at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur in 2007.

Her marriage with Nayar didn’t last long and ended with a divorce in 2011, but Hurley developed a special connection with the country, and keeps making short trips to India. She is also very vocal about her love for all the ‘desi’ things — from her admiration for ethnic outfits to shopping for antiques in the country.

Her TV show “The Royals”, based on the lives of a fictional British royal family, has also featured actors with roots in India, and shown Hurley draped in a sari. The fourth season of the show will be coming soon on Indian television on Colors Infinity.

In January this year, Hurley took to Instagram to share moments from her Mumbai trip with her son Damian. The 52-year-old star posted an image from her beach day out, in which she was seen in a blue bikini.

At present, Hurley can be seen, through her Instagram feed, enjoying a vacation in the Maldives.

Meanwhile, Berry met actress-producer Dia Mirza to talk about cinema, climate change, children and her idea of happiness at an event in Mumbai.

Dia on Thursday shared a photograph of herself along with singer Ananya Birla and Berry.

“The world is getting smaller and girls are owning their place. Ananya Birla and I with the most amazing Halle Berry today,” Dia wrote alongside the image, in which Berry is seen in a white ensemble.

“What a warm, intelligent, gracious woman. India loves you Halle! Can’t wait to have you back. It was such a joy speaking with you,” Dia added.

'Thor: Ragnarok' beats 'Ittefaq' at box-office, makes Rs. 27 crores in India

Thor’s mighty hammer continues to shatter records at Box-office, as ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ blazed past crime-thriller ‘Ittefaq’ at Indian box-office.

The third movie in Marvel’s ‘Thor’ franchise grossed Rs 27.66 crore at Indian box-office in the opening weekend.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news. Chris Hemsworth-starrer made Rs 7.77 crore on Friday, Rs 9.43 crore on Saturday, and Rs 10.46 crore on Sunday.

The third film in the `Thor¿ series has already passed the lifetime grosses of the previous two Thor movies in India.

‘Ragnarok’ is roaring in the U.S. too as the flick opened to a thunderous USD 121 million in North America.

The movie also grossed USD 151.4 million in its second week of international release, taking the movie’s worldwide total to USD 427 million.

Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha’s ‘Ittefaq’ made Rs 16.05 crore.

The movie started its week with a lukewarm collection of Rs 4.05 crore on Friday. It picked up pace on Saturday with Rs 5.50 crore and a Sunday collection of Rs 6.50 crore.

Mostly positive reviews helped the film from its second day.

Directed by Abhay Chopra, the film also stars Akshaye Khanna in a pivotal role.

Madhuri got married to Shriram Nene, who is a doctor by profession, on October 17 in 1999.

She also sang the popular song “Ae mere watan ke logo” for the Indian armed forces.

Rajinikanth Wanted This Bollywood Actor To Play His Role In 2.0

Rajinikanth’s 2.0 is said to be one of the most expensive movies in India till date. It goes without saying that Thalaiva’s fan can’t wait for the release of this film. And what makes us even more excited is the fact that we get to see Akshay Kumar in a new avatar alongside Rajinikanth firing the screen together with their sheer talent. It’s like having best of both the worlds!

While we just can’t think of anyone other than legendary Rajinikanth playing Chitti’s character, not many know that he had some other plans in mind before he decided to don this role once again.

In a recent interview with a leading channel, Aamir Khan shared that Rajinikanth wanted him to play the lead in the film as the actor thought he wasn’t in best of his health to do so himself. He further added that however, he turned down the request as in his views no one other than Rajinikanth could have done this role better.

“I told Shankar that I will not be able to do it, and only Rajini sir could do this film. I have already seen the first part and I have loved it. I am a huge fan of Rajini sir, and because of the impression that I got from that film, I couldn’t imagine myself or anyone else in the lead role apart from Rajini sir for 2.0. So I didn’t do it. It wasn’t a tough decision for me because I know that it is going to be a super hit in all languages,” he revealed.

Well, we are still trying to wrap our heads around this piece of information, Aamir as Chitti? 2.0 is all set to hit the screens in January 2018 and is a sequel to 2010 superhit film ‘Enthiran’.

Amitabh Bachchan says he tries to keep himself free during Diwali to spend time with family. The actor was addressing guests on his game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, when he said: “I try to keep myself free during festivals so that I can celebrate them with my family, but sometimes, if I am out of India for shoots, I can’t be with them.” However, it is suggested that the Bachchan family will refrain from celebrations this year following the death of daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai’s father Krishnaraj Rai.
