Actor David Harbour and his girlfriend Alison Sudol are off to Antarctica as part of ‘Protect the Antarctic’ campaign of Greenpeace. The 42-year-old actor and Sudol boarded the Greenpeace ship in London to set sail for Antarctica. They will be helping in the gathering of scientific evidence with the Antarctic Ocean Sanctuary to safeguard penguins and whales. Harbour had earlier tweeted to Greenpeace asking, “how many retweets to send me someplace to tell emperor penguin couples I think they have terrific parenting ideologies?

Perhaps hone the Hopper dance with the males…” “Hmm, if you get over 200k we¿ll ask the Captain if you can join our expedition to the Antarctic and dance with the penguins,” Greenpeace had tweeted in response. Harbour took up the challenge and secured 200,000 retweets in less than five hours. “Get your dancing shoes on, because you¿ll be heading to Antarctica in no time,” Greenpeace had written to Harbour. Now, both Harbour and Sudol are heading to Antartica, and the actor, in a statement, said, “Well, Greenpeace says the Weddell Sea and its surroundings are home to a precious ecosystem, vital to sustaining our future.

And that there¿s penguins there.” “And that I’ll get to waddle around with them, discuss their parenting techniques with them and yes, yes, dance with them. And that they’ll film it. And that if maybe I get enough support from everybody, they’ll gimme that video, so I can rent it out to you (be kind, rewind please).” Sudol, who plays Queenie Goldstein in `Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them¿, said,”There is a massive movement to protect these waters, which provide invaluable refuge to marine wildlife, and I am thrilled to join Greenpeace as an Antarctic Ambassador!” The ‘Protect the Antarctic’ campaign is also supported by actors Gillian Anderson, Javier Bardem, Gwendoline Christie, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Vanessa Kirby, Joanna Lumley, Helen Mirren, Thandie Newton, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Redgrave, Mark Rylance, Alexander Skarsgard, and other prominent celebs from around the world.

Sunny on learning horse riding and sword-fighting for her warrior princess’ role in upcoming Tamil drama

The past few days have been frenetic for Sunny Leone, whose Tamil film Veeramadevi went on floors in Chennai. Considering the period drama sees her playing the titular role of a warrior princess, the actor has been training extensively in horse riding and sword-fighting. ‘My muscles got sore in two days as I have done a lot of horse riding and sword-fighting — that too, while wearing heavy armour. But, I had a lot of fun,’ she tells mid-day.

Sunny Leone

While the actor has made a cameo appearance in a song in Tamil film Vadacurry (2014), the VC Vadivudayan-directed film marks her debut in South cinema as a leading lady. With a film that is centred on her character, Leone hopes it will help change audience perception. She says, ‘It’s going to be a long and gruelling film, but I am up for the challenge. I have always wanted to do action sequences and this film has allowed me to push my limits. It’s a different role and I am sure my image will change after this film.’

Although she is trained in the basics of horse riding, Leone says she will have to learn to balance while galloping and cantering. ‘I had learnt the English way of riding, which is relatively more poised. For this film, I had to gallop the horse with another 50 of them behind me,’ she reveals.

Determined to grab eyeballs with this performance, Leone says that she even tried to practise sword-fighting at home, albeit with hilarious results. ‘I was shooting for my new television show, Man vs Wild. I borrowed a dummy sword from the show and practised at home. But when I reached the set, I realised they had real swords and they were really heavy,’ she laughs.

Although a portion of the film has been shot in the last few days, she reveals that the major chunk of the multi-lingual drama will be filmed in May. ‘By the end of the shoot, I’m sure I’ll have added many new skills to my resume.’

After posting her pictures in a traditional white lehenga and sleeveless blouse, Mouni Roy has had her fans hearts skip a beat with this new picture, wherein, the gorgeous beauty flaunts her sexy back in an oversized red balloon gown. Her followers just couldn’t keep calm and are pouring in comments such as she is looking “gorgeous”, “dazzling” and “stunning”.

Mouni has been time and again trolled on social media for her dressing sense. However, the actress has given a befitting response to all her haters. In an earlier post of hers, where she posed in a white thigh slit and strapless gown, she was taught to wear “appropriate” clothes and they weren’t at par with the “Indian standards”.

The ‘Naagin’ actress shunned the trolls by a posting a picture of hers from a dessert, garbed in black leggings and denim jacket. It was the caption that won hearts. She wrote, “Hopelessly flawed (sic).”

Here are some of the pictures of the sizzling diva:

The sizzling beauty is on a career-high with her debut film ‘Gold’ with Akshay Kumar and reportedly, she has also been locked for Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’ starring Bollywood stalwart Amitabh Bachchan, talented and versatile Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

Alicia Vikander has said veteran star Julianne Moore once came out in her defense after a powerful Hollywood figure made a crude joke about her

Alicia Vikander

Alicia Vikander has said veteran star Julianne Moore once came out in her defense after a powerful Hollywood figure made a crude joke about her. The “Tomb Raider” star, who appears on the latest cover of Vogue, said the incident happened on the sets of 2014 film “Seventh Son”, and Moore not only reprimanded the person but also threatened to walk out of the film.

“I was really embarrassed, and I would have just laughed it off,” Vikander said. “But Julianne turned to him and said, ‘If you ever do that again, I’m walking out of here and I’m not coming back.’ She was just, like, ‘Don’t you f**king say that again.’ It showed me that she had the power. And that meant so much to me,” Vikander added.

Vikander was one of the prominent Hollywood personalities who turned up at the Golden Globes red carpet donning black in support of the Time’s Up campaign that seeks to promote equality and safety in the workplace and fights against sexual misconduct. “It was such a community that came together. I got on the phone with Natalie (Portman), whom I’d never met, and Reese (Witherspoon). Suddenly I felt like I made a lot of new friends. One thing that really got to me in their initial email was the fact that ‘ because women are not as well represented in all industries ‘ we often have to fight for jobs. The competition is so tough that instead of getting to know each other and working together, we learned at an early age to compete for that single spot. So then to get on the carpet yesterday and feel like I had actually made friends with the other actresses and people I admire, it was really cool,” Vikander said.
