Kapil Sharma’s recently launched show, Family Time with Kapil Sharma has not ranked anywhere in Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC). This news has added fuel to the rumours of the show going off the air. Ever since the show went on air the it has been receiving mixed responses.

The latest report in DNA says that the show might get cancelled after just 15 episodes. Reportedly, the show had been slated for 26 episodes. “They wanted Kapil to hold a press conference, but he asked them for time. He told them he will address the media after a couple of episodes are aired. Now, there is an internal dispute going on about how many episodes should be aired. The show has been slated for 26 episodes, but the channel is thinking of cutting it to 15-20 if the reactions are not good and ratings are not as expected,” informed a source to the publication.

On the contrary, Sony Channel’s spokesperson says that Family Time with Kapil Sharma is the number 1 show in that slot across channels. “Sony Entertainment Television’s show Family Time With Kapil Sharma has become the number 1 show with a rating of 2.2. Kapil Sharma is back with a bang. All the families got together to make this a success. Sony Entertainment Television is number 2 this week!!!”

Well, let’s wait for time to predict Kapil Sharma and his show’s future.

Filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala cancelled the success party of Baaghi 2 and headed to Jodhpur on learning about Salman Khan’s court verdict. While Salman Khan has been convicted in the case, friend Sajid Nadiadwala has headed to Jodhpur cancelling the success party of Baaghi 2. Sajid Nadiadwala had organised a celebration party in order to celebrate the blockbuster success of Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 2. The action entertainer entered the 100 crore club on Wednesday making the total collection to 104.90 crores. In order to celebrate the same Sajid Nadiadwala was throwing a party tomorrow.

However, after learning about Salman Khan‘s verdict, Sajid Nadiadwala has headed for Jodhpur cancelling the party.

A Jodhpur court on Thursday convicted Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case and sentenced to jail for 5 years. A penalty of Rs 10,000 was also levied on him. The actor is accused of killing two blackbucks in the Kankani village near Jodhpur in 1998 during the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain. Co-accused Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam have been acquitted.

Salman Khan’s bail application will be heard on Friday at 10:30 a.m. After a complete medical examination, he will be taken to the Jodhpur Central Jail, where he will spend the night with other high-profile inmates such as Asaram Bapu, Malkhan Singh Vishnoi and Shambhu Lal.

Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala’s association dates back since the 1996 film Jeet, which the latter produced. They went on to collaborate in Judwaa (1997), Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega (2000), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Jaan-E-Mann (2006) and Kick (2014). Kick marked Nadiadwala’s directorial debut.

The Accidental Prime Minister has gone on floors in London. The film has captured the nation’s imagination ever since the first poster of the movie, featuring Anupam Kher bearing an uncanny resemblance to the former PM was released a few months ago. The movie is based on the book by Sanjaya Baru and it has commenced principal photography in London.

The Accidental Prime Minister is a political drama that traces the making and unmaking of former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh.

Speaking about the project, Anupam Kher said, “The opportunity of portraying a contemporary personality like Dr Manmohan Singh in The Accidental Prime Minister is an immense challenge for me as an actor. He is part of a 24/7 media era where world knows his persona minutely. I have been internalizing this character for the past few months. I look forward to translating that effort into cinematic reality.”

The movie is directed by debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, along with Hansal Mehta as the creative producer and also features Akshaye Khanna as Sanjaya Baru, the former media advisor to the PM. The script is written by Mayank Tewari, who recently won the Asian Film Awards for India’s official Oscar’s entry – Newton. The film is produced by Bohra Bros and is slated to release on December 21, 2018.

In an interview with mid-day, he now reveals that his decision to give his nod to the film was motivated by emotions, not monetary benefits. “Ahmed Khan [director, Baaghi 2] and Mukesh Chhabra [casting director] are my friends. When they came home to offer the film to me, I was happy to agree,” says the actor.

Manoj Bajpayee says he can now afford the luxury of working for factors other than financial perks. “There are decisions you take for reasons other than money. I have worked for the sake of friendship in the past, and will continue to do so. If I turn a film down, my friends may feel I am too hard to get. I can afford to do a film for my pals because I have successfully established myself as an actor.”

With Baaghi 2 inching towards the Rs 100-crore mark, Manoj Bajpayee is happy that producer-friend Sajid Nadiadwala has yet another hit to his credit. Yet, it is the acclaim that leading man Tiger Shroff has been garnering that warms his heart. “Sajid bhai has had many hits, and is successful today. But the people who need this success are Tiger and Ahmed. Tiger is so devoted that, even between shots, he will practise his moves with his trainer. When you see the kind of devotion he harbours for his craft, you know he deserves to be successful. Ahmed too needs this hit. His last two ventures didn’t fare well.”

However, a statement on behalf of Ranveer’s spokesperson said that the actor will continue to shoot for his upcoming film “Gully Boy” as per its “shooting schedule which is not physically strenuous since only performance-based talkie scenes are left to be shot.”

Yesterday, Ranveer tweeted, “It’s a labral tear in my left shoulder. I intend to come back strong (sic).” As soon as Ranveer excused himself, the organisers approached Hrithik to get the crowd grooving with his moves.

While Deepika Padukone has worked in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the actress has never really been in a Karan Johar directorial. However, the latest post shared by one of Dharma Productions’ directors, Punit Malhotra suggests that Karan has directed Deepika for a new advertisement, the details of which are yet awaited.

Punit shared a photo of the trio and addressed the maverick filmmaker as a ‘new director’ and thanked Deepika Padukone for the fun shoot. He wrote, “Launched a new director at @dharma2pointo today… our very own @karanjohar!!! Thank you @deepikapadukone for a super fun shoot (sic).”

While Karan Johar did not reveal anything about their association, he only shared the picture, where, both Deepika and he are posing for the selfie. He captioned the photo as, “Left profilers! @deepikapadukone (sic).”

Karan and Deepika share a great rapport. Although the dimpled-beauty has just starred in one Dharma Production’s film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, she has appeared several times on Karan’s chat show, Koffee With Karan. Well, one never knows, this small ad shoot might be the stepping case of its translation onto the bigger screens.

Deepika recently delivered a box office hit with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, which earner over Rs 300 crore in India. Her next with Vishal Bhardwaj is on hold because of the deteriorating health of co-star Irrfan Khan. The actor is getting treated for neuro-endocrine tumour abroad and the makers of the film have decided to wait for the actor’s betterment before they begin the shoot. Amidst all this, the rumours of Deepika tying the knot with alleged beau Ranveer Singh by the end of 2018 are also doing the rounds.

Karan Johar is currently occupied with Dhadak, a remake of popular Marathi film, Sairat, which features debutante Janhvi Kapoor and one-film-old, Ishaan Khatter. Simultaneously, he is also producing Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan’s Simmba with Rohit Shetty and Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra.

“The brick-and-mortar retail space is something that has always excited me but films have kept me busy over the years. The New Delhi store is our first venture into this growing market and we are optimistic that it will play a key role in the long-term growth of the brand. “We are looking forward to adding more stores over the next five years in different cities,” said Lulla.
