Priyanka Chopra recently set tongues wagging with her recent Instagram post. Dressed in a pale blue skirt suit, Priyanka looked absolutly stunning. The actress, who recently visited Assam, flew to New York and jumped straight into her the promotions of her television show, Quantico’s is defintely dressed to kill.

Priyanka Chopra posted a few pictures of herself on Instagram and her fans couldn’t get enough of her. Styled beautifully, PeeCee wore the suit with straightened hair, white heels and a matching bag, making her looks every bit a ‘Boss Lady’.

On the work front, Priyanka will be seen alongside Salman Khanin the film Bharat. Salman Khan’s decision to team up with PeeCee has raised eyebrows. The two had a fallout during Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004). Later, PeeCee refused to work in Sohail Khan’s production Main Aur Mrs Khanna (2009). In 2011, Sohail had excluded her from his guest list for a party hosted by him during an awards gala. As they say, there are no permanent enemies or friends in Bollywood.

On joining the Bharat family, Priyanka Chopra shares, “Bharat it is! I’m looking forward to begin shooting this film and working with Salman Khan and Ali again after a considerable time. I’ve learnt a lot from them in our previous collaborations and am excited to see what this one has to offer. I’m also looking forward to working with Alvira and Atul and the entire team of Bharat. To all my well-wishers who’ve been so patient and supportive… thank you for your constant support and I’ll see you all at the movies!”

Director Ali Abbas Zafar says, “Bharat is Priyanka’s homecoming to Bollywood after having proven her range as a performer in Hollywood films and a blockbuster global TV show. Bharat is rooted in India and its culture despite it spanning over 70 years and set across various countries of the world. Priyanka is the biggest Indian artist internationally and she is a perfect fit for the film. Priyanka brings in outstanding acting as well as incredible international appeal to make the scale of the film bigger and even more global.”

Ali Abbas Zafar and producer, Atul Agnihotri travelled to New York to meet Priyanka and gave her the narration of the film. Priyanka loved Ali’s script and she was convinced immediately to do the film. Salman and Priyanka will be teaming up after 10 years making the association all the more special. Atul Agnihotri who is collaborating with Priyanka for the first time shares, “We are all very happy to welcome Priyanka to the Bharat family. We couldn’t have asked for anyone better than her to play this role.”

Daniel on why he won’t feature alongside wife Sunny in her biopic

As Sunny Leone’s biopic,Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story Of Sunny Leone, is set to stream this month, the team has already begun shooting for the second season. Unlike Leone who is playing herself in the web series, husband Daniel Weber will not be bringing his character to life in the show.

Talking to mid-day about his decision, Weber says, “I gave it a thought initially. But I felt it would be better if I could use my time more efficiently working on the things I do on a day-to-day basis with our companies [than act]. I thought it wouldn’t be a great idea to commit 60-90 days of shooting, when I have so many other things to handle.”

The makers recently zeroed in on South African actor Marc Buckner for the role. Laughing that he “couldn’t think of a single suggestion” regarding who should play him, Weber says, “The team did look tests and screen tests in Cape Town, and roped in Marc. Right now, Marc is trying his best to understand the script. A major part of his work
includes dialogue training. Funnily, he is trying to ape my tattoos as well.”

Pointing out that Leone is a natural in front of the camera, Weber says that she is more adept at helping Buckner with the prep. “Sunny understands what the camera wants and what the audience will enjoy in a character. To get better insight, Marc sits with Sunny Leone every day before each scene to understand our dynamics as a couple. All I asked of him was to be confident on screen.”

Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor’s chemistry has always been crackling. Every time they make an appearance together, there is magic in the air. The same aura was created when they walked the ramp together at Mijwan Fashion Show by Shabana Azmi.

On Thursday, Deepika Padukoneshared a picture of hers with ex-flame and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani co-star Ranbir Kapoor. What caught our attention was the adorable caption by the dimpled-beauty. She wrote, “jab naina met bunny… @manishmalhotra05 (sic).”

Here, in the caption, Deepika is talking about their characters, Naina and Bunny from the Ayan Mukerji film, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Their last film together was Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha.

The photo was received with a lot of comments from their fans stating how they are the ‘it’ couple and are made for each other. There were also comments of comparisons being made between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika’s beau Ranveer Singh.

In the photo from the April, Mijwan Fashion show, the two were a sight to behold in their traditional outfits, designed by renowned celebrity designer Manish Malhotra. In a black kurta with white flower embroidery, paired with a pant and brown shoes, Ranbir Kapoor looked every bit regal. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone looked ethereal in a white chikankari worked lehenga with a long heavy sequenced trail behind.

The magical reunion of former lovers, Ranbir and Deepika as showstoppers was definitely a sight to watch out for their fans and the spectators around. It got them all excited, and their fan clubs flooded social media with the Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani couple walking the ramp together at this annual charity fashion event. While Ranbir Kapoor has been the Goodwill Ambassador for Mijwan since past many years, it was Deepika Padukone’s debut at the do.

On the professional front, Ranbir has Sanjay Dutt’s biopic, titled Sanju, whereas Deepika has a Vishal Bhardwaj film.

Harshit Saxena has released a song in memory of the eight-year-old Kathua rape victim

Upset about the increasing number of sexual assaults that women face in India, singer-composer Harshit Saxena has channelled his emotion into a song. The track, titled ‘Aap Sabki Asifa’, is inspired by the eight-year-old Kathua rape victim.

“I was disturbed when I heard how the minor was raped, tortured and murdered. That encouraged me to work on it. This is not just a song; it’s an anthem against child abuse and rape. I have come up with the track in a bid to encourage people to fight against this violence,” says Saxena.

Lyricist Sameer has penned the song. “Since he is a father to two daughters, he wrote provocative lyrics to encourage every citizen to fight against sexual abuse,” he says.

With barely few days left for Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding, the preparations are in full swing for the D-day, May 08, 2018. Choreographer Farah Khan has been monitoring everyone’s dance performances for the sangeet ceremony.

However, what makes it even special is daddy Anil Kapoor‘s special act for daughter Sonam Kapoor’s sangeet ceremony. A Filmfare report states that he has put a special act of his iconic song, My Name Is Lakhan. Well, that’s not all, the ‘Jhakaas actor’ will also get his industry friends to join him along. He will be dancing with Satish Kaushik and Anupam Kher on songs such as Gallan Goodiyan and Dil Dhadakne Do.

“Anil is ecstatic about his performance on Sonam and Anand’s sangeet. He will perform on two of his favourite numbers – Gallan Goodiyan from Dil Dhadakne Do and My Name is Lakhan from Ram Lakhan. It will be more fun because Satish Kaushik and Anupam Kher will also be joining Anil,” told the source to the publication.

Sonam Kapoor‘s cousins – Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor will also be dancing at the sangeet function. While we hear Janhvi will be dancing on late mother Sridevi’s song, Mere Haathon Mein Nau Nau Chudiyaan Hai, Arjun will be accompanied by Ranveer Singh for the song, My Name Is Lakhan. The magic wand behind their dance performances is the ace choreographer and their friend, Farah Khan.

The makers of Sanju have released yet another poster of Ranbir Kapoor from the Sanjay Dutt’s film, Munna Bhai (2003). The orange shirt and blue denim which became popular as a fashion trend post the movie’s release, and now, even Ranbir is seen wearing a similar shirt for this look. Ranbir Kapoor has managed to nail Sanjay Dutt’s looks, body language and mannerisms is simply mind-blowing.

Munna Bhai MBBS was the first film on which director Rajkumar Hirani and Sanjay Duttworked together which went on to become a super hit film and is still loved by the audience. Now, Hirani has once again got Munna Bhai back onscreen, this time with Ranbir.

National Film Awards 2018: Boney Kapoor gets emotional as Sridevi honoured

On Thursday, late actress Sridevi was honoured with a National Award at the 65th National Film Awards ceremony. The actress was acknowledged for her phenomenal performance in her last film, Mom. Husband Boney Kapoor, along with daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor reached the Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi to receive the award.

Boney Kapoor got emotional when Sridevi‘s name was announced at the venue. The producer, along with Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi went on the stage to receive the National Award from President Ram Nath Kovind.

On reaching Vigyan Bhavan, filmmaker Boney Kapoorsaid, “We are proud of her, she truly deserved it. She always gave her best for all her films. Sadly she is not around to accept it. But we are proud of it.”

Elder daughterJanhvi Kapoor decided to wear mother Sridevi’s saree for the special occasion. She looked radiant in the off-white and pink silk saree. Designer and close friend of the late actress, Manish Malhotra took to his Instagram account to share about Janhvi wearing her mom’s saree.

Bride-to-be Sonam Kapoor is said to be calling industry colleagues to invite them for her big day. After the e-invites were sent, she has taken it upon herself to personally reach out to those who matter and have played an important role in her career.

While the Kapoors’ Juhu home is buzzing with Sonam’s wedding preparations, word is that dad Anil Kapoor and brother Harshvardhan Kapoor have reached out to designer Raghavendra Rathore for their ensembles.

He is said to be designing for groom-to-be Anand Ahuja as well. Rathore is a favourite of the Kapoors. Last year, Anil was the showstopper at one of his shows.

On Tuesday, both Kapoors and Ahujas released a joint statement announcing the wedding date. It read, “The Kapoor & Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam & Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.”

With the year’s big fat Punjabi wedding of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, there is much excitement within the industry folks. The who’s who from the glamour world will be gracing the special occasion on May 8.

Akshaye Khanna, who was in New Delhi to receive his father Vinod Khanna’s posthumous Dadasaheb Phalke Award, said it is a “bittersweet moment” for the family. “We are really proud as a family. It is a bittersweet moment for us. I wish my father was here to receive this award. I am missing him. It is an emotional day for us,” Akshaye told PTI.

The Mom star was accompanied by step mother Kavita Daftary at the ceremony. Khanna, who died on April 27 last year at the age of 70 after battling cancer, was active in Bollywood till the very end. His last few memorable screen outings were in Salman Khans Dabangg series and Shah Rukh Khans Dilwale in 2015. Known as one of the most handsome stars ever to grace the Indian cinema screens, he started off as an antagonist and in supporting roles before graduating to lead roles. The actor had a very successful pairing with Amitabh Bachchan.

They worked together in blockbusters such as Amar Akbar Anthony, Parvarish, Reshma Aur Shera, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Zameer, Hera Pheri and Khoon Paseena. He made his Bollywood debut in 1968 film Mann Ka Meet, which was produced by Sunil Dutt, who was reportedly struck by Khanna’s good looks. He was noticed for his portrayal of Shyam in Gulzar’s 1971 film “Mere Apne”, where he stood out as a disillusioned young man. He got his first break as a hero in “Hum Tum Aur Woh” (1971). A great many films followed including hits such as Elaan and Mera Gaon Mera Desh. He made his political debut in 1997 with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and served as a minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government.

By featuring the desi character in her upcoming summer clothing line, Anushka Sharma hopes Indian cartoon characters can become as popular as their western counterparts

Taking inspiration from the West, where comic characters, like Mickey Mouse, make great sales for the fashion industry, Anushka Sharma hopes our desi Suppandi can also acquire global fame. The upcoming collection of her clothing line, Nush, will feature the character from Tinkle comics across a gamut of pieces.

A source, who has worked on the clothing line, tells mid-day that making Suppandi the star of the collection was Sharma’s brainchild. “While brainstorming on this year’s collection, Anushka came up with the idea of celebrating Indian summer. She said that, as a child, one thing she loved doing in this season was laze around at noon and read the comic books. She loved reading about Suppandi.” In an effort to promote Indian culture, Sharma, the source says, wants to promote the character like the West does Mickey Mouse and other iconic caricatures.

The line is scheduled to be available from May 9. While the actor will head to Alabama for a month-long schedule of her next film, Zero, she will use her time on the international shore to promote her attires too. “While she will promote the line extensively when she returns, even when in the US, she will sport pieces from the collection,” the source adds.
