Actor Gary Oldman says he is a private person and not good with crowds.

It has been a good year for Oldman. He won a Golden Globe, a SAG Awards honour, tributes at the Santa Barbara and Palm Springs film festivals for his role as Winston Churchill in the film “Darkest Hour”.

“This has all taken some getting used to,” latimes.com quoted Oldman as saying.

“I’m quite a private person. I’ve never been any good with crowds. It’s all very nice. No complaints. But there’s an energy of people coming at you that you absorb. It’s quite frenetic. The night of the Golden Globes, I must have taken 300 selfies and it felt like I had met 1,000 people. And they are all lovely and gracious and well-meaning,” he added.

The actor finds all this shocking.

“Well, it’s shocking really, when you think about it, that that many people wanted to meet me in the first place. One should never take for granted the sound of applause.”

Oldman is also in the race to win an Oscar. He is nominated in the category — Actor in a Leading Role.

The 90th Oscars, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will be held on March 4 at the Dolby Theatre here. It will be aired in India live on Star Movies and Star Movies Select on March 5.

Veteran Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan, who joined the music industry over three decades ago, says back then there was not much scope for solo vocalists.

“I remember the time when I started out. The industry seemed to have been dominated by duets. There was not much scope for solo vocalists. However, convinced with the idea of performing solo, I was hopeful that there was a future for me and solo artistes,” said Gurdas.

“Today, when I look back, I thank God for letting me reach my goal and paving the way for other solo artistes,” added the singer, who will be seen as a guest in the upcoming episode of the reality TV show “Rising Star”.

Hailing the show, he said: “Along with entertaining the viewers, the show shares a valuable message of #UthaoSochKiDeewar which will help our nation progress.”

The episode will air on Colors channel this weekend, read a statement.

It is co-judged by singers Diljit Dosanjh, Monali Thakur and Shankar Mahadevan.

Akshay Kumar may have slim chances of banking on holiday weekends in 2018. After pushing the release of Pad Man from the Republic Day weekend to make way for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, Kumar may not be able to entirely cash in on an Independence Day release for his next, Gold, either. The development stems from buzz that Kangana Ranaut is also eyeing the August weekend for her Rani Laxmibai biopic.

Pointing out that a take on the warrior makes for a fitting Independence Day release, a source says, “Principal shooting for Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi will wrap up by March. However, an elaborate post-production schedule will follow. There are opulent war sequences and fight scenes, hence, abundant VFX work will be done on the film. The makers estimate a minimum of three to four months to complete it.”

While Ranaut too would have preferred a solo release, the source says that the holiday weekend will permit sufficient room for both the films to flourish. Given that Gold is also a patriotic tale, inspired from India’s historic Olympic hockey win in 1948, it also makes for an appropriate I-Day release. While a trade analyst had alluded to the change in the release date, producer Kamal Jain had said that an official announcement hadn’t been made.

If you recall, Bran had a vision where he saw the throne room in the Red Keep covered in snow.

Amidst this chaos, Dany finds out that she is pregnant and it is believed that she will die in child birth or maybe after that. So, while all this is revealed, Sam and Bran might hide the truth about Dany’s true relationship with Jon. Hint: She’s his aunt!

Jamie will kill the white walker version of Cersei and thus fulfil the prophecy. The Hound and Tyrion will retire and lead a good life while they return to Casterly Rock and the Lannister source of income changes from gold to wine. We all knew that Tyrion would have a happy ending and his wine drinking will join his course of life one day.

While we were all hoping for Netflix to release a Tinder-esque dating app that would match you with the person who also watched the same show for like 14 hours straight, it seems like we have to wait for that for a while. What we’ve got right now is also pretty cool, but not Netflix-Tinder cool.

This particular device dictates how long the partners can stay together, and it comes with an ‘expiry date’ of sorts.

Sara Ali Khan’s debut vehicle Kedarnath was one of the highly awaited films of 2018. People had even spoken about the pairing of Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara, and how unique it would be. However, the film has been marred with controversies and now, there looms a cloud of uncertainty over the film. It was reported previously that the director Abhishek Kapoor had an ugly spat with producer Prernaa Arora, with KriArj opting to walk out of the project. They also filed a legal case against Abhishek Kapoor for violating the terms and conditions of their contract.

Now, Abhishek has invited the wrath of Amrita Singh too, mother of Sara Ali Khan. Amrita was extremely supportive of her daughter’s debut in Bollywood and hasn’t taken this Kedarnath row too lightly. According to a report in DNA, Amrita, who is concerned about Sara’s future is reportedly very upset with Gattu for his brash behaviour. A source says, “When Gattu called Dingy (Amrita) to tell her about his decision to fly solo with Kedarnath and only getting a big studio on board for the release, Amrita completely lost her cool with him. A heated argument took place between the two.”

Amrita’s anxiety in the matter is not misplaced. After all, Sara’s debut is being looked forward to. Now, the fight between the makers of Kedarnath has put the girl’s career in jeopardy, for no fault of hers.

Aiyaari Aiyaary is an espionage thriller about two Indian army officers, Colonel Abhay Singh (Manoj Bajpai) and his subordinate Major Jai Bakshi (Siddharth Malhotra). The two officers are a part of a military intelligence unit called DSD – Data & System Diagnostics. The motive of this unit is to put important numbers on surveillance and tap phones to gain important information.

The two officers have a fallout after Jai happens to lay his hands on an earth-shattering information regarding the Indian army while tapping a phone. This leads Jai to go against the whole system. He does a disappearing act and eventually Abhay is assigned to trace Jai. He is given 36 hours to get to Jai, who is the only one who knows of the dirty secret that can bring down the whole government.
