The tagline of the fourth instalment reads, “Iss Diwali Logic Nahi Sirf Magic”. While some feel the latest trailer looks bigger and better, some believe that it’s the same old script with a twist of horror. Like it or not, the Golmaal franchise is loved by millions out there because we do like a bit of laughter in our lives, after all.

We all know about his fascination for automobiles, so seeing him ride one doesn’t surprise us. However, we surely didn’t expect to spot him in the trailer.

Take a closer look at the trailer and you will see him driving a sports car, giving Arshad Warsi a ride. Watch the trailer again from 1: 03 and see the director making a small appearance like a boss!

This time Golmaal is back as a horror comedy. The trailer begins with spooky background music and what follows next are few paranormal incidents. It would be interesting to see how Gopal, Lucky, Madhav and Laxman deal with supernatural events this Diwali.

The film is scheduled to release on October 20, 2017.

Bollywood filmmakers heaved a sigh of relief when Pahlaj Nihalani was ousted from his post as chief of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and welcomed Prasoon Joshi.

The move, it was suggested, would minimise the unwarranted cuts demanded in films that had made Nihalani infamous among contemporaries.However, going by the Board’s recent decision, it appears that little has changed after the new appointment.

Actor-director Anant Mahadevan’s upcoming thriller, the Gautam Rode, Abhinav Shukla and Zareen Khan-starrer Aksar 2, has become the latest victim of the Board’s censoring. The song in question is Aaj Zid. Interestingly, Mahadevan says he is yet to receive an explaination for why the CBFC thought the song was inappropriate for television audiences.

“I don’t know what the CBFC finds unsuitable for viewers. The song is on YouTube, and anyone who has seen it will tell you that it doesn’t have objectionable content. The romance between the lead pair hasn’t been shown inappropriately,” Mahadevan says, adding that should the Board be willing to reveal their reservations, he will consider implementing cuts.

“It seems that they [board members] don’t have a clue on how to go about the procedures. I hope that they consider their decision again and permit a television release, as it is part of our publicity plan.”

Varun Dhawan’s ‘Judwaa 2’ release is just around the corner, a teaser featuring Salman Khan’s cameo in the film has gone viral. It was rumoured ever since the shooting of the film, that Salman Khan, the star of the original ‘Judwaa’ would have a cameo in the remake. Salman Khan brought to screen the characters of Raja and Prem and carved a place for them in our hearts. 20 years after the 1997 cult film entertained us, Sajid Nadiadwala is all set to revive the iconic characters, this time with Varun Dhawan.

Varun Dhawan who stars in the remake, has posted a video about Salman’s double role. The video showcases Salman Khan interacting with Varun Dhawan for the first time and Salman Khan as Raja and Prem reinforce being the original ‘Judwaa’ and Varun Dhawan being ‘Judwaa 2’.

Packed with action, drama, comedy and romance the original 1997 Judwaa was a huge hit amongst the audience, hence, the audience has been highly excited to watch the revamped version of the film.

Varun Dhawan has been promoting ‘Judwaa 2’ full-fledged. Dhawan also feels his upcoming comedy enjoys strong recall value, owing to its 1997 original featuring Salman Khan. He had previously stayed away from the promotions. According to a source “Since Judwaa 2 has already aroused audience curiosity, he doesn’t mind going slow on the publicity.” Now that the film is a week away from release, he is promoting it as much as he can. The film also stars Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez.

It looks like it’s going to be a sad weekend for Bollywood buffs as none of the films that have been released today have managed to impress us. After ‘Haseena Parkar’, ‘Bhoomi’ seems to follow a path of disappointment as well. Rape and retribution are Bollywood’s latest filmy trend. This year, we have already seen ‘Maatr’ and ‘Mom’ and now we’ve got another story with the same narrative. Sigh!

Plot: Arun Sachdeva (Sanjay Dutt) is a shoe-smith who loves his daughter Bhoomi (Aditi Rao Hydari). Everything is going well in their little world until one incident shatters their lives. Bhoomi is raped by Dhauli (Sharad Kelkar) and his gang. Arun and Bhoomi are both affected by this shameful incident and he plans to take revenge and deliver the justice her attackers deserve.

First things first, Sanjay Dutt is a badass in the film and we totally love his demeanour. There are very few actors who have that impact on viewers and despite being away from the silver screen for a very long time, Sanjay have totally nailed it with his angry-man avatar.

Omung Kumar’s ‘Bhoomi’ is an 80’s rape and revenge saga that we have seen over and over again. The story is trite, and though the director tried to add a feminist angle to the film, he fails miserably at delivering a moving story.

Things are pretty obvious. The girl is consistently shamed for being who she is. You have cops who are not cooperative at all, a public prosecutor whose sole motive is to embarrass the victim for being raped in the first place. And we’ve also got the typical courtroom drama where questions about Bhoomi’s virginity are raised. Wow!

Because everything at the end of the day is about your virginity, right? Looking at this cliche drama, all you want to do is scream out in frustration. After all, how much nonsense can we stomach?

Omung tries to change the narrative but if you truly intend to do that, one needs to be very careful about the screenplay and dialogue being delivered on-screen. You’ll often hear viewers giggling and laughing at the stupid courtroom fiasco. It’s an absolute shame that the script reeks of staleness.

‘Bhoomi’ is filled with social messages which make no impact on you or your soul. You have lessons being thrown at you from every direction about gender discrimination, woman rights, respecting women, and the double standards our society often follows when judging a male or a female, which leaves you incredibly annoyed.

Talking about Aditi, who plays the titular character, she is seen sobbing and grieving through most of the film but she isn’t strong enough to fight back. Her character lacks the strength that could have moved the audience and made a serious impact. Sharad Kelkar, on the other hand, tries to be the quintessential villain but you don’t really like his presence onscreen anyway.

Despite the film falling apart and going haywire, it’s good to see Dutt representing his character flawlessly. His acting really affects you. You feel his happiness, helplessness, hurt; it’s all too evident and natural. You may not like the way he beats the living daylights out of a bunch of people, but you truly won’t be able to get over his larger-than-life persona. Watch ‘Bhoomi’ just for Sanjay Dutt!

The three-minute-long trailer that was unveiled post a trailer launch in Mumbai sees the story unfold for the fourth installment. Ajay Devgn and Shreyas Talpade set the base for the audience as the trailer opens to a howling background score. What follows is a series of supernatural events that set the tone of a paranormal existence in the house where all these characters reside in the film. Parineeti is the fresh female face in the film and looks breathtakingly beautiful in each frame, Tabu as Rukmini, on the other hand, does an impeccable job with her acting chops.

The fourth film boasts of a huge star cast including Parineeti, Tabu, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sanjay Mishra and Johnny Lever while retaining the usual suspects – Ajay, Tusshar, Arshad, Kunal and Shreyas. The film is scheduled to release on October 20, 2017.
