Shah Rukh gifts Salman Khan a brand new car for filming a cameo for Aanand L Rai’s next

The Khans might as well just make a film together, you know. There was a Shah Rukh Khan cameo in Salman Khan’s Tubelight and now, expect a Salman Khan cameo in Shah Rukh’s film with Aanand L Rai, in which he has been cast as a dwarf. Well, that’s not all. According to a report in Bollywood Life, Shah Rukh also surprised Salman with a brand new car, for agreeing to come on board for the movie. The Dabangg Khan reportedly squeezed out time from his busy schedule for filming a cameo, which is said to be a song in the yet-untitled film, on short notice. Salman has recently been spotted in the Yash Raj Films studio, where SRK’s film is reportedly being shot. Dressed in black casuals, the bhaijaan was photographed walking away from the vanity van along with Shah Rukh and the director.

The details of the vehicle are not known but the Bollywood Life report states that Salman is the only owner of the newly launched model, courtesy his Karan Arjun co-star. “When Salman Khan came to shoot for the song, Shah Rukh surprised him by gifting him a brand new, luxurious car. The car is newly launched and no one owns this mean machine currently. Salman was shocked as he wasn’t expecting this at all. But because he had managed his dates and agreed to shoot for the song on such a short notice, SRK wanted to gift him something to show his love and appreciation,” Bollywood Lifee quoted a source as saying.

Tubelight was Salman Khan’s Eid offering this year, which has collected Rs. 200 box office crores worldwide so far. Ahead of the film’s release, Salman said hardly any persuasion was required to convince Shah Rukh for the role of a magician named Gogo Pasha in Tubelight. Fans were delighted to see Salman and Shah Rukh together when the Kabir Khan-directed film released.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is busy with promotional duties for Jab Harry Met Sejal, also starring Anushka Sharma. After wrapping his portions for SRK’s film, Salman Khan will shift focus to Tiger Zinda Hai, which will also see Katrina Kaif reprise her role from 2012’s Ek Tha Tiger.

I’m quite detached from success, failure: Ranbir Kapoor

ranbir1 Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor says he is always prepared to face failure and he finds himself detached from success.

On Wednesday, Ranbir introduced his cousin Aadar Jain, who is going to make his debut with a Yash Raj Films project to be directed by Habib Faisal. The banner will also launch Anya Singh.

Before “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, Ranbir had a string of films like “Besharam”, “Roy”, “Bombay Velvet” and “Tamasha” that didn’t do too well.

Asked about how he deals with lows in life, Ranbir told the media here: “People have seen me in the last three years. My first film ‘Saawariya’ was also a big disaster, so I am always prepared for it. I already said that the God is in the work, and I feel really happy when I am working.

“I am quite detached with success and failure of a film, and I wish that Aadar and Anya both at least adapt to that concept.”
Sharing some words of wisdom with Aadar, Ranbir said: “When I entered the industry, I got so much advice from seniors, family members and all, but I feel everybody has to make their own journey.

“I might advise him on many things, but it doesn’t matter because till the time he doesn’t fall, he will not be able to rise up for the occasion. And in the same way, till the time he won’t see his first success, till that time he won’t be able to take pride and credit for it.

“I can give him advice if he comes to me, but I can’t tell him to do a certain film which will help in your career because if one year later that film doesn’t work, then it will be wrong… Because we are in such an industry where decisions have to be yours and based on your gut feeling and instincts… It all has to come from within”

Ranbir also advised Aadar about handling the media.

He said: “They are the people who are going to help, support, praise and criticize you. When you are doing bad, they will hold you up. They will write bad things about you. Do give them your perspective and what you feel about certain things and it won’t harm you if you are politically correct sometimes, so don’t be completely honest also.”

Talking about how Aadar had worked as an assistant director in “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, Ranbir said: “I used to bully him. I used to call him in my make-up room and I used to instruct him to say Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Anushka’s (Anushka Sharma) lines so I could learn my lines.

“I was using him, but in a way it was good for him because I used to tell him to act with expressions and emotions.”
On the work front, Ranbir is gearing up for Anurag Basu’s “Jagga Jasoos” in which he will be seen with Katrina Kaif. The film is releasing on July 14.

Priyanka Chopra may co-own franchise in Super Boxing League

8E7_priyanka Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, who famously played boxing champion MC Mary Kom in a biopic, is likely to join the Super Boxing League (SBL) as the co-owner of the North East franchise, informed sources have said.

“Talks are at the final stage and we are very keen on having Priyanka on board. She is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood and her association with boxing will help us create the much needed hype for Super Boxing League. We will soon make an official announcement for the same,” a source from SBL told IANS.

SBL is marking the beginning of its first season from Friday by bringing in Bollywood celebrities as team co-owners for its franchises. Suniel Shetty along with Rana Daggubati of “Baahubali” fame are the co-owners of Bahubali Boxers, the team from South India.

Sushant Singh Rajput, for the very first time, will be entering the sporting arena as the co-owner of the home team, Delhi Gladiators.
Showing interest is also actress Sunny Leone, who will be rooting for her team OPM Punjab Sultans. Singer Kanika Kapoor will support her team UP terminators.

Actor Randeep Hooda and Sohail Khan have also been announced as the co-owners ofHaryana Warriors and Mumbai Assassins respectively. Riteish Deshmukh will be seen promoting his native team, the Maratha Yoddhas.

With Priyanka, SBL hopes to add more Bollywood glamour.

Bill Dosanjh, CEO and Founder of SBL, said: “We are overwhelmed by the response boxing has received from the Bollywood fraternity. It’s no secret that Bollywood draws inspiration from sports every now and then.

“The stars joining us on this platform is an evidence of the immense potential in boxing. I am delighted to welcome each and every one of them to the SBL family. I am sure this combination of some of the exciting boxers and celebrities will give fans enough moments to cheer and enjoy the five weeks of action that Super Boxing League will bring to the Indian audience.”

The event will take place at the DDA Badminton and Squash Stadium, Siri Fort Road, where the inaugural match will be between Haryana Warriors and Delhi Gladiators.

Amir Khan, Chairman, SBL, said he is delighted to see the excitement within the bigwigs of Bollywood for boxing.

Pop star Katy Perry has been slammed over an Australian ad in which she tells her dog to go and ‘chase’ koalas.

The ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ hitmaker has teamed up with a company for a series of online promotions of her upcoming Witness tour Down Under, but has been slammed for ending an ad by telling her teacup poodle Nugget to “chase” koalas, reports femalefirst.co.uk. After telling viewers how to enter a draw to win one of 8,000 free tickets to her show, Perry says: “Let’s go chase some koalas, Nugget!”

The clip has been slammed by vet Claire Madden, who treats koalas injured in dog attacks. “This is just absolute ignorance from Perry and Myer, and inappropriate on so many levels. Perry is a role model to so many young people, and this just destroys all the good work we do to try to encourage people not to let their dogs come into contact with koalas,” Madden told Australia’s Courier Mail.

She even urged the 32-year-old singer to spend a day with her and see her work first-hand. “Katy Perry, I challenge you to come and spend a day with me (a wildlife vet) and learn first hand why your comment should not be streamed across the nation,” she said. “Koalas attacked by dogs is one of their biggest threats and primary reasons for presenting to wildlife hospitals across Australia,” added Claire.

Veteran actor and politician Paresh Rawal says the experience that he goes through during sessions in Parliament, helps him enrich his acting skills.

“I have had a meaningful journey (in showbiz). As an actor, the experience that I have as a politician while sitting in Parliament — that helps me enrich myself as an actor. But I am an actor first,” Paresh said here on Wednesday while promoting his new film ‘Guest Iin London’. Paresh Rawal, who is member of the Lok Sabha, elected on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket, feels that there is a ‘big dearth of writers’ in Bollywood.

“Comedy is not easy to write. When one thing becomes a hit, then carrying it forward is harder. To make anything successful, you need a good writer. Here we have a big dearth of writers. People don’t think new concepts,” he said.

In the film, Paresh will be seen sharing screen space with Kartik Aaryanand Kriti Kharbanda. ‘Guest Iin London‘ is releasing on July 7.

When Om Puri danced on Dama Dam Mast Qalandar

Filmmaker Gurinder Chadha says late actor Om Puri would often dance to Hans Raj Hans’s version of ‘Dama Dam Mast Qalandar’, which is part of her upcoming film, ‘Partition: 1947’.

The Huma Qureshi-starrer features Puri, who died in January, as her father. “In a scene, he finishes his food and is set to go to bed, but as soon as Hans Raj Hans’s song would start playing, he would start dancing. I had to tell him, ‘you don’t have to dance’. But, he enjoyed the music. He enjoyed being on the sets. This is the memory I have of him,” Chadha said in an interview.

Speaking at a promotional event, Chadha also said that the song, Do Dilon Ke, which has been composed by AR Rahman and sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Hariharan, reminded her of the tragic stories she heard from her maternal grandmother about the Partition, while growing up in England. “I grew up in England and I made a film like this in India. It is a big deal. We do feel terrible about the things we witnessed, not just in India, but in Europe and America. We fear for our children. I have two small children and want them to live in a world where people love and respect each other.”

The song puts the spotlight on the fondness that Edwina Mountbatten and Jawaharlal Nehru shared for each other. “I believe that Nehruji and Lady Mountbatten were very close, and I wanted to show that… But, I was not interested in learning anything about this relationship as that is not the story… It takes away from the story of the ordinary people and the Partition.”
