Actress Sunny Leone has taken to her Instagram account to reveal the names of a few Bollywood actresses, who taught her that it’s okay to be one’s own self in the uneven world of the glamour and film industry. The former adult-star has quit that world to start afresh in Bollywood, with her husband Daniel Weber besides her. Sunny has even adopted a beautiful daughter from Maharashtra’s Latur and named her Nisha Kaur Weber.

Revealing the names of a few Bollywood divas, who she draws inspiration and courage from are- Zeenat Aman, Dimple Kapadia, Mandakini, Sharmila Tagore, Rekha and the evergreen Madhubala. In the photos shared, the divas are seen in their sexiest and boldest avatar. She captioned her post as, “A few women in Bollywood who have taught me that it’s perfectly ok to be myself. Sharmila Tagore…Mandakini…Dimple Kapadia…Rekha…Zeenat Aman… Madhubala… (sic).”

While a lot of Sunny’s fans applauded her for the post, there was the moral police, who brought up her past occupation and refrain from seeing anything beyond it.

The Karnataka government has decided not to grant permission to Sunny Leone’s New Year’s Eve show in Bengaluru following protests from right-wing groups. The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) and some other organisations have been opposing the event as they consider Sunny an ‘assault’ on the city’s culture.

For the past week, KRV members have been taking out rallies, burning effigies of the actor and even threatening suicide. “Don’t bring her [Leone] here. People are opposed to the event. Let them [organisers] hold events related to Kannada culture and literature, which is our heritage,” Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy has reportedly said.

The unusual pairing of actress Sunny Leone and Arbaaz Khan have set temperatures soaring in the new song ‘Mehfooz’ from the film ‘Tera Intezaar’

For the first time ever, Arbaaz Khan will be seen opposite Sunny Leone in Raajeev Walia’s romantic thriller, ‘Tera Intezaar’, and the couple is looking hotter than ever. The makers of the film have released a reprised version of ‘Mehfooz’, an emotional track from the film, which gives a glimpse into the crackling chemistry between the lead couple. If this song is anything to go by, Arbaaz and Sunny will surely set temperatures soaring. The track, which has been sung by Palak Muchhal is melodious and soulful, making the song a treat for all your senses, and will make the ‘Intezaar’ for the film even more difficult.

Apart from her film, Sunny- an entrepreneur has launched her line of clothing, which will have the actress’ face on it with quirky prints. Sunny’s husband, Daniel Weber revealed to mid-day that they will they will not be available on e-commerce websites. “We prefer to do everything on our own – from manufacturing to designing. Depending on the response, we could either sell [the brand] or expand it.” Leone’s love for business, she says, is one that she harboured from a young age. “I started my own company at 18,” she adds. It’s probably owing to the ropes she picked up early in her career that she ensures her team gets her approval on every development. “I am not okay with anyone messing with my money or time. I approve everything and am constantly working on the creative aspect. My team hates me because I nitpick and change things. But, I like products to be perfect — from the logo to the packaging.” After a week of launching her clothing line, the husband and wife duo are coming up with their own line of cell phones also.

Sunny Leone just shared a video on Instagram that people can’t help but watch again and again. A crew member played a prank on Sunny and it is damn hilarious. The actress is seen sitting carefree on a chair and reading the script, while a crew member approaches her from behind with a snake that looks almost real.

He dangles the snake near her face and Sunny still doesn’t have a clue at all. A few seconds later, she turns her face and the man throws it at her and runs away. The actress gets up with a knee-jerk reaction. Looking at her response it is obvious to say that she was clueless and ended up screaming when she saw the snake thrown at her.

She is immediately seen running after the mean prankster sswho chucked the snake. Check out Sunny’s reaction yourself!

A week after Sunny Leone launched her own collection of clothing, the actor is gearing up to start her own line of cell phones

While her detractors may have reservations about her acting talent, one can hardly doubt Sunny Leone’s entrepreneurial skills given her recent ventures. A week after she launched her own collection of clothing, the actor is gearing up to start her own line of cell phones. Interestingly, that would pit her against fellow actor Salman Khan, who is reportedly venturing into the world of technology soon by offering a new brand of smartphones, BeingSmart.

A source told mid-day, “Sunny is looking at the best way to launch her own line of phones, mobile accessories as well as laptops. Now that her clothing line and cosmetic range have already hit the market, Daniel [Weber, husband] and she will start work on this project early next year. It will be an exhausting procedure as it involves a great deal of backend tech work. They are considering roping in a Chinese company to handle the manufacturing of the phones.” Stating that the plan is to collaborate with an e-commerce website for product sales, the source added, “Sunny will be curating the range. A reflection of her effervescent personality, the collection will be youthful and sassy.”

When contacted, Weber stated that the endeavour is currently in its nascent stages. “It’s too early but moving to tech seems like a viable way forward for our brand. Technology excites both of us and we will be able to come up with something interesting. But this is not happening immediately. It requires at least one year of work before we have something concrete.”

In sharp contrast, Bollywood has maintained a stoic silence on the subject, nobody ready to address the elephant in the room yet. Sunny Leone, however, is brutally honest as she talks about the casting couch in the industry. “I haven’t experienced the casting couch. I was sheltered by Daniel [Weber, husband] and my team. But does it exist in the industry? Absolutely! It’s not just the women, men too face similar issues,” she says.

The actor is glad that women are raising their voice against the issue. She hopes that Bollywood too sees such a revolution. “The more people speak, the louder the voice is going to be. This will instil faith in the young generation, especially women. There might be a day when our industry will be free of it. I’m proud of all the women who have taken a stand.” Leone points out that one of the reasons she has survived in the largely male-dominated industry is due to her “fearless” nature. “I am proud to have made it on my own, and the best part is that I can say yes or no to whoever without having any fear.”
