Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja have taken their marriage vows, and social media is over-flooded with their wedding photos and videos. While everyone from the film industry and Sonam’s close friends are elated with joy as she enters a new phase in her life, there is one piece of advice brother Harshvardhan Kapoor has for his brother-in-law, Anand Ahuja.

Harshvardhan Kapoor took to his Instagram account to share a photo of his ‘senior’ sister Sonam Kapoor with Anand Ahuja along with himself. He wrote, “Mush alert – Senior @sonamkapoor… there is no one quite like you and no one with a bigger heart. You’re a lucky man @anandahuja but remember I was here first! Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness and love #EverydayPhenomenal #SonamKiShaadi (sic).”

Talking of bride, Sonam Kapoor, she was elegance personified as she chose to go the traditional way with heavily embroidered traditional red lehenga, chokers, and traditional jewellery. She looked stunning, whileAnand Ahuja looked majestic in a muted gold sherwani and a pagadi with ruby beads around his neck.

The reception and wedding party will take place at The Leela hotel in the evening on May 8, starting from 8 pm onwards.

It is day two of Anand Ahuja and Sonam Kapoor’s big fat Punjabi wedding function. And believe it or not, we just can’t get enough of the lovely couple. Dressed in white and gold, the two look like a jodi made in heaven.

Set to get hitched on May 8, the pre-wedding bash started yesterday, taking the Internet by a storm. Though it is an intimate wedding, Sonam’s function literally looks like a scene from Karan Johar’s 100-crore movie.

Well, we saw tons of Mehendi function pictures yesterday, but today it’s the official day. The grand celebration is taking place at the actor’s pad in Sunteck Signature Island at Bandra Kurla Complex. Keeping it all desi, the dress code for the function is ‘Indian Festive-Shades of White’, as we read in the invitation cards.

As we reported before, the function has a lot in store with a surprise performance by her dashing dad Anil Kapoor and another by her close friends, cousins, and relatives. Sonam Kapoor’s wedding with Delhi-based businessman beau Anand Ahuja, which would take place on May 8th, will no doubt be one of the biggest Bollywood weddings of the year. Sonam’s mehendi and sangeet celebrations kicked off with pomp at Sunteck Signature Island in Bandra Kurla Complex. 

Friend Anaita Shroff Adajania shared an image of Sonam on Instagram, in which the Veere Di Wedding actress looked ethereal in an ivory and gold lehenga with embellished with ornate gold jewellery. The pre-wedding festivities saw family and friends in attendance, which consisted of the who’s who of Bollywood. There were rumours earlier that designers Abu-Sandeep, Anamika Khanna and Anuradha Vakil have been roped in to make her outfits. There is also buzz that she might opt for a made-to-order Ralph & Russo ensemble for the reception.

Sonam Kapoor‘s beau Anand Ahuja, dad Anil Kapoor, brother Harshvardhan Kapoor, cousins Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, aunt Maheep Kapoor, friends Masaba Gupta, Varun Dhawan, Swara Bhasker, Jacqueline Fernandez, Karan Johar and many others were snapped arriving for the celebrations. The 32-year-old actor will tie the knot with Delhi-based businessman Anand Ahuja on Tuesday morning in a private ceremony at her aunt’s house in Bandra.

The wedding ceremony on May 8 will be followed by a grand reception in the evening at a five-star hotel in Andheri. The families of Sonam and Anand, who have been dating for over two years now, announced their wedding last week in an official joint statement.

Sonam Kapoor’s pre-wedding celebrations began on Sunday at her home in Mumbai. The 32-year-old actor will tie the knot with Delhi-based businessman Anand Ahuja on Tuesday morning in a private ceremony at her aunt’s house in Bandra. The actor and her close friends and family kick-started the celebrations with an intimate mehendi ceremony at Juhu residence. Sonam’s cousins including Arjun Kapoor, Mohit Marwah, Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor, uncle Sanjay Kapoor and filmmaker Karan Johar arrived at her residence earlier in the evening. The groom was also clicked outside her bungalow.

The mehendi and sangeet party for the industry people will take place Monday evening in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), and is expected to have the who’s who of Bollywood in attendance. The security has been beefed up at the venue of the mehendi and sangeet party. Celebrations were at full swing at the Kapoor household, as Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam Kapoor gets ready to tie the knot with beau Anand Ahuja. The mehendi ceremony on Sunday evening was attended by family and friends, which included the who’s who of Bollywood. Sonam’s siblings Harshvardhan Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, cousins Anshula Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Jahan Kapoor, Mohit Marwah, Arjun Kapoor, uncles Boney Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, aunt Maheep Kapoor, friends Kunal Rawal, Masaba Gupta, filmmaker Karan Johar and many others were in attendance for the special occasion’s at dad Anil’s residence in Mumbai. Several pictures shared on Instagram have gone viral.

After dating each other for two years Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja will finally get hitched on May 8, 2018. As per a report in a major news daily, Sonam reportedly met Anand through a mutual designer friend, Pernia Qureshi. Sparks ignited and the businessman asked the diva out, and ever since they’ve been thick. 

The soon-to-be bride and groom made their first public appearance at Akshay Kumar’s bash honoured for Will Smith. And, ever since, he has made several public outings with the ‘Khoobsurat’ actress and her family. Both their Instagram pages are filled with each other’s adorable photos. Although Sonam never made her relationship with Anand official, her social media handle did all the talking.

Functions such as sangeet, will take place on May 7. A Bollywood entertainment portal reported that filmmaker and Sonam’s close friend, Karan Johar has some exquisite and customised gifts for her. It has pieces of jewellery, sarees, laddoos, and everything that the filmmaker has specially customised for the beautiful actress.

The Kapoor family is putting their best foot forward to make Sonam Kapoor‘s wedding with beau Anand Ahuja – a grand affair. From Sonam’s actor-dad Anil Kapoor presenting a high-octane Bollywood dance act to cousins Janhvi Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor dancing at the sangeet ceremony, the function definitely will be worth a watch.

On May 1st, the Kapoors and Ahujas confirmed the wedding date through an official statement, which read, “The Kapoor & Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam & Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love,as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.” There’s no confirmation as to whether friend and frequent collaborator Farah Khan will be a part of the pre-wedding festivities as she’s currently nursing an injury.

Sonam Kapoor will next be seen in Veere Di Wedding alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. The film is scheduled to release on June 1st.

Actress Sonam Kapoor, who is all set to tie the knot with her long-time Delhi-based businessman boyfriend Anand Ahuja, says she is an extremely private person and is very protective about her personal life. The Khoobsurat actress has always maintained silence about her relationship with Anand and is even tight-lipped about her wedding. The families of the couple confirmed last week that they will tie the knot on May 8.

Asked if she is open to talk about her personal life, Sonam told IANS over e-mail from Mumbai: “I am very protective about my personal life. I’m an extremely private person and I do feel somewhere that it takes away attention from your work.” Sonam and Anand have been dating for some years, but it is only since a few months that they have been open about their moments and travel diaries together on social media. Soon after her wedding, the actress will be seen on the silver screen in the film Veere Di Wedding and she says that it’s a “very commercial film”.

“It’s a genuine film about four women and there is no lead role. I am really excited to work with Kareena (Kapoor Khan), Swara (Bhaskar) and Shikha (Talsania). They are all wonderfully talented women and actors,” she added. Sonam Kapoor strongly believes that Bollywood needed its own girl-bonding film. “So far the films being made are specifically for women, with related themes. Why do women-oriented films have to be hard-hitting for them to make an impact? Veere Di Wedding is a film for women and their men too,” said the 32-year-old actress.

A week after her D-day, Sonam will be seen at the 71st Cannes Film Festival red carpet to fulfil her commitment as a L’oreal Paris brand ambassador on May 14 and May 15. She says she is looking forward to the energy at the gala.

“I enjoy everything the festival has to offer, without the pressure. Also, this year, I am looking forward to the entire L’Oréal Paris #SummerEscape experience — the beach, the Riviera, lounging by the sea and, of course, meeting the other L’Oréal Paris ambassadors!” she said. The Aisha actress says she always loves experimenting when it comes to fashion.

“I completely trust Rhea (Sonam’s younger sister) and her team as she always knows what looks best on me. I am also very excited to see the looks the brand’s dream team have designed for me using the #SummerEscape Cannes Collection. The collection has bold and bright shades which are inspired by the colours of summer,” she said.

There has always been a debate about how Indian celebrities’ presence is larger in terms of endorsements and less for films. So what does Sonam have to say to that? “The responsibility is just about the same. Celebrities are ambassadors for their respective countries, whether representing a brand or a film. I do understand that while the festival is spoken highly about in terms of the fashion, over the years the press has definitely made it as much about the films as fashion,” said Sonam.

But the Neerja actress does not take criticism of her fashion very seriously. “Everyone has hits and misses and I’ve never really taken the trolling seriously. I enjoy dressing up and I take criticism with a pinch of salt,” she added.

With barely few days left for Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding, the preparations are in full swing for the D-day, May 08, 2018. Choreographer Farah Khan has been monitoring everyone’s dance performances for the sangeet ceremony.

However, what makes it even special is daddy Anil Kapoor‘s special act for daughter Sonam Kapoor’s sangeet ceremony. A Filmfare report states that he has put a special act of his iconic song, My Name Is Lakhan. Well, that’s not all, the ‘Jhakaas actor’ will also get his industry friends to join him along. He will be dancing with Satish Kaushik and Anupam Kher on songs such as Gallan Goodiyan and Dil Dhadakne Do.

“Anil is ecstatic about his performance on Sonam and Anand’s sangeet. He will perform on two of his favourite numbers – Gallan Goodiyan from Dil Dhadakne Do and My Name is Lakhan from Ram Lakhan. It will be more fun because Satish Kaushik and Anupam Kher will also be joining Anil,” told the source to the publication.

Sonam Kapoor‘s cousins – Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor will also be dancing at the sangeet function. While we hear Janhvi will be dancing on late mother Sridevi’s song, Mere Haathon Mein Nau Nau Chudiyaan Hai, Arjun will be accompanied by Ranveer Singh for the song, My Name Is Lakhan. The magic wand behind their dance performances is the ace choreographer and their friend, Farah Khan.

While the Kapoors’ Juhu home is buzzing with Sonam’s wedding preparations, word is that dad Anil Kapoor and brother Harshvardhan Kapoor have reached out to designer Raghavendra Rathore for their ensembles.

He is said to be designing for groom-to-be Anand Ahuja as well. Rathore is a favourite of the Kapoors. Last year, Anil was the showstopper at one of his shows.

On Tuesday, both Kapoors and Ahujas released a joint statement announcing the wedding date. It read, “The Kapoor & Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam & Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.”

With the year’s big fat Punjabi wedding of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, there is much excitement within the industry folks. The who’s who from the glamour world will be gracing the special occasion on May 8.

After making it official that Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are getting hitched on May 8, the wedding preparations have been in full swing. On Wednesday, Sonam’s sister and filmmaker Rhea Kapoor shared a video of cousins Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor visiting the bride-to-be.

The video showed behind-the-scenes from Sonam Kapoor‘s wedding preparations. Rhea shared the video on her Instagram account, wherein, Arjun Kapooris seen standing at the door with sister Anshula, assumingly all set to go home.

Rhea Kapoor‘s voice echoes, addressing Arjun Kapoor as ‘Chaach’. She asks, “What are you saying, Chaach?” To which he replies, “It’s like I am watching Veere Di Wedding live. The reality… Like aur kitne tareefan chahiye tainu? Sonu, you are not even listening, you not interested.”

Later, Sonam replies, “No, no… I am just figuring something out.”

The news is finally out! After months of speculation it has been confirmed that Sonam Kapoor and beau Anand Ahuja are indeed set to enter holy matrimony. Both will exchange vows on May 8th, confirms a joint official statement by the Kapoors and Ahujas.

It states, “The Kapoor & Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam & Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love,as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.”

Rumours about Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s grand wedding taking place on May 8 have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. Recently, a video surfaced online, adding fuel to the proverbial fire, which showed the Kapoor mansion decked up for Sonam’s wedding. The actress’ mother is seen overlooking the decorations.

A proper filmy haldi, mehendi and sangeet ceremony has been arranged for Sonam’s and Anand Ahuja‘s grand day. Preparations are in full force as her cousins – Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor will be dancing on the special day. While we hear Janhvi will be dancing on late mother Sridevi’s song, Mere Haathon Mein Nau Nau Chudiyaan Hai, Arjun will be accompanied by Ranveer Singh for the song, My Name Is Lakhan. A source had earlier informed mid-day that a hotel near Sahar airport has been booked for one of the pre-wedding functions and the reception. The mehendi is slated to be held at Sonam’s sprawling pad at the Bandra-Kurla Complex while the traditional ceremony will be conducted at aunt Kavita Singh’s bungalow in Bandra. Those in the know say that Sonam Kapoor has been sending near and dear ones ‘save the date’ messages. The invites are expected to be on their way soon.
