After years of trials, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan who was accused of killing two blackbucks in Bhagoda ki Dhani in Kankani village near Jodhpur has been convicted under Section 9 and Section 51 of Wildlife Protection Act. The incident happened on the intervening night of October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’.

The actor has been taken to Jodhpur Central Jail, which currently houses three high-profile inmates — Asaram Bapu, Malkhan Singh Vishnoi and Shambhu Lal. While Salman has faced a harsh punishment of serving 5 years in prison, other actors who were involved in the killing have been acquitted of their crimes.

Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre too were accused in the blackbuck poaching. The Bishnoi Sabha, which had filed the blackbuck poaching case, has now decided to appeal against the acquittal of the four co-accused in the case.
Salman Khan fans across the world are currently mourning the Jodhpur Court’s decision and their anger is being widely expressed on various social media platforms. Bollywood celebrities have also reacted on the court’s orders and the action against Salman. Here’s what they said:

While a lot of users believed that the conviction was fair and long overdue.
