Actor Ranbir Kapoor, through one of his Twitter fan clubs, interacted with his fans with the hashtag- Chat With Ranbir and made many such revelations

The Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, who usually shies away from social media, did something very unusually delightful for his fans. The actor, through one of his Twitter fan clubs, interacted with his fans with the hashtag- Chat With Ranbir. The question-answer session with the Tweeple scooped out some of the unknown interesting facts about the ‘Barfi’ actor.

When asked the talented star about the last Bollywood film that made him cry, he gave a very humorous reply. “Post Jagga Jasoos release,” this is what Ranbir said. Anurag Basu’s ‘Jagga Jasoos‘ with Katrina Kaif, turned out to be a debacle at the Box Office.

He was also interrogated about his ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ co-actress Anushka Sharma’s secret wedding with Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli. “Hey Ranbir, Anushka’s wedding is incomplete without you singing Channa mereya. Just saying (sic).’ To which, Ranbir said, “I felt sad because I had no idea about it but I felt happy because I’ve never seen her so happy and beautiful”. Ranbir even spoke about the first film that was offered to him and you’ll be amazed to know, it was with her cousin Karima Kapoor- ‘Fiza’ (2000). The interesting thing he revealed was that he trolls his friend Aditya Roy Kapur the most.

Concluding the chat session with his fans, Ranbir, posted an image of his with a Christmas tree and wished everyone a blissful New Year and season’s greetings. “This was beautiful. Thank you. Everybody. I’m going to do this more often. I promise. Have a Merry Christmas. And a happy happy new year. I love you. See U at the movies (sic).”

Rishi-Kapoor Rishi Kapoor is not new to the world of controversies. His outright and frank nature on Twitter has gotten him into serious trouble on more than a few occasions.

The recent one being Rishi Kapoor’s statement on directors Anurag Kashyap and Anurag Basu for ‘Bombay Velvet’ and ‘Jagga Jasoos’ respectively made at Neha Dhupia’s audio-chat show ‘No Filter With Neha’. Both these ‘big-budgeted’ films featured Rishi’s son and nation’s heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor. Alas, both left audiences dejected and were a major let-down at the box-office.

On the show, the senior Kapoor was asked to speak about a topic for a minute, and it was any Anurag in his life!

Rishi Kapoor answered with spontaneity, “There is Anurag Kashyap, who made ‘Bombay Velvet’, but he made a better film in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. I couldn’t understand head or tale about ‘Bombay Velvet’.”

Talking about director Anurag Basu, who directed ‘Jagga Jasoos,’ his son Ranbir’s maiden production venture; Rishi Kapoor lashed out at him when the film tanked.

On Neha Dhupia’s show, he continued his ‘Anurag’ topic and said, “And then there was Basu (Anurag Basu), who made ‘Barfi’ an outstanding film. I am so happy he took my son for it. My son got great recognition for it, and then he made this ‘Gajja’ Jasoos… what ‘Jagga Jasoos’ whatever… which he made a total mess of. It was as messy as my pronunciation.”

“He probably got indulged too much. I guess both the ‘Anurags’ got indulged in their films. You know when they are good enough to work on a certain budget and suddenly they are given huge budgets in hand so ‘bandar ke haath mein khilona nahin aa jaata hai,’ he goes absolutely berserk. So I think that’s what actually happened with both these guys. They were given budgets they could not handle and I guess it happens. It happens with every director, every actor you can’t have a hundred percent record anyway…So it happens,” concluded the unfiltered audio by Rishi Kapoor.

Box office: 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' crosses Rs 100 crore in India

Akshay Kumar in 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' Akshay Kumar in ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’

Hindi film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, which attempts to spread the message of eradicating open defecation in an entertaining vein, surpassed the Rs 100 crore on the eighth day since its release in India, its makers said on Saturday.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film features Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar and Anupam Kher in key roles.

“Day 8: Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha crosses Rs 100 crore,” said a statement issued on behalf of the film’s makers.

The movie, which hit the screens on August 11, minted Rs 100.05 crore till Friday.

Its success has — in Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna’s words — helped the box office to break free from constipation after big ticket films like “Jagga Jasoos” and “Jab Harry Met Sejal” failed to elicit the expected response.

Bhumi, who plays the role of a woman who demands a toilet in her husband’s house, is ecstatic.

“Today is a special day and I really want to thank our audiences tht laughed and cried with us, believed in us and gave us love. Shree sir, thank you for choosing me to be your Jaya and making this film.You truly are amazing,” she tweeted.

“Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” also takes forward Akshay’s golden run at the box office after his entertainers “Airlift”, “Housefull 3”, “Rustom” and “Jolly LLB 2”.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, “‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is Akshay Kumar’s eighth Rs 100 crore grosser… The second highest after Salman Khan (11 Rs 100 crore grossers).”

Meanwhile, Twinkle posted on social media a beach selfie and in the backdrop is a man relieving himself. The accompanying tongue-in-cheek caption — true to MrsFunnybones’ style — read: “Good morning and I guess here is the first scene of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha Part 2’ #WhenYourWalkGoesDownTheToilet.”

Ranbir-Rishi-Anurag Whatever Rishi Kapoor said was just to protect him, feels Ranbir Kapoor in regard to his father’s criticism on his recent release, Jagga Jasoos.

“My father is an emotional man. I think he was only protecting me,” Ranbir said at the trailer launch of Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film Bhoomi yesterday, when asked what he thinks of his father’s take on his recently released Anurag Basu-directorial.

He added, “I don’t necessarily agree with what he said. We worked on Jagga Jasoos for three years and we knew what we were doing and how it was being made. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you fail. I don’t look at it as failure. I look at it as a learning experience. I cannot answer for somebody else, but I don’t necessarily agree with anybody else.”

In an interview with mid day, the 64-year-old had slammed Basu for being irresponsible with the film.

Soon after the release of Jagga Jasoos, that didn’t fare well at the box office, the veteran actor had said that even after three years of making, the film was incomplete and that Basu was cutting it even two days before the release.

ranbir_sanjay Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who was present at Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Bhoomi’ trailer launch, revealed that he had approached the star for a guest appearance in his first production venture – ‘Jagga Jasoos’. Speaking at the event, Ranbir said, “I think every role written in the film industry goes to him first. It passes through him and then it filters down. It was my first production. It was a special appearance and we wanted to carry it in the second part. Anurag Basu (director) and I thought there was nobody better than Sanju sir to play the part.”

He further added, “The first time he (Dutt) heard it, he gladly agreed to do it. But there were some issues with the release of his first film. So, I thought may be the next time.”

Nonetheless, Nawazuddin Siddiqui gladly stepped in to play the part in the musical which also starred Katrina Kaif in the leading role.
Ranbir will be seen essaying Sanjay Dutt in the actor’s upcoming biopic helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, that is slated to release on March 30, 2018.

Ranbir Kapoor’s beefed up look

Ranbir Kapoor, who has always surprised his audience with his acting skills, is all set to hit the big screen again with Sanjay Dutt’s biopic. In one of the leaked pictures, the ‘Jagga Jasoos’ actor seems to have sweat it hard in the gym for his next as a massive body transformation can be seen.

Earlier in an interview he had said that he is keeping his ‘fingers crossed’ for Sanjay Dutt biopic and that filming for it was an altogether different experience. The film is being helmed by Rajkumar Hirani and is slated to release next year in March. The film also stars Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza Sonam Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in a special role.

salman_ranbir Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, whose debut production “Jagga Jasoos” released this Friday, says that everybody should make money and not just the producers.

The actor, who was present at a promotional event, was asked about his take on superstar Salman Khan, compensating for the loss to the distributors due to his last release “Tubelight”.

“It’s been going on for years. My grandfather was a producer from 1950 and I think this home style of making films — where everybody makes money not just the producer, the distributor and exhibitors — is a very healthy exercise. It’s very good to compensate when somebody loses money on something where you have kind of made money. But of course it depends from person to person and from film to film,” the “Rockstar” actor said.

Grandson of Raj Kapoor and great-grandson of Prithvi Raj Kapoor, Ranbir said that compensating for the losses runs in the family.
“Films like ‘Mera Nam Joker’ had heavy losses, so when grandfather released his film ‘Bobby’, he gave more of a percentage to the distributors and exhibitors. They maintained a sense of balance in it. Personally, if my film had losses and I was making money out of it, I would definitely compensate,” he said.

Speaking about the Amarnath attack, the “Tamasha” actor said: “It’s completely an act of horror, my condolences to the families and the victims. I will try and contribute as much as possible. I think at times like these when the country has to unite, people from every corner of society should come together. I don’t understand the gain out of terrorism or why people do it. It is the worst side of human nature; it’s very shameful that it’s happening within our world.”

“Jagga Jasoos” directed by Anurag Basu, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, and Sayani Gupta tells a story of a teenage detective in search of his missing father. The film released in theaters on July 14.

‘Jagga Jasoos’directed by Anurag Basu is receiving lukewarm response at the Box-Office. While the weekend showed a good jump in the footfalls and collections, owing to the fact that families and children thronged to see the film.But there was a drop on Monday and the numbers dwindled further. Famous trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the numbers recently.
