Actors Aahana Kumra and Amol Parashar, who came together for “It Happened in Hong Kong”, a travel style web series in Hong Kong, are awestruck by the dining, shopping and outdoor experiences that the place offers. The ongoing series, developed by OTT platform Viu, was made in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board. It highlights the sights, culture and experiences in the city, and is set against a romantic and adventurous storyline of two solo travellers, who come across each other while visiting Hong Kong and decide to explore the city together.

They discover the city’s local culture, outdoor adventures, hidden temples, street food, street art, street shopping and nightlife together.

Both Aahana and Amol captured the moments for their fans via social media.

“This was my first visit to Hong Kong and I was completely mesmerised by the variety of things you can do here. The city and local culture is amazing and so is the great outdoors and shopping. So much to discover,” Aahana said in a statement.

Amol added: “I’ve always wanted to come to Hong Kong and try the dimsums and I’m so glad I did. There are so many choices when it comes to local dining and cultural experiences, I was amazed. I will definitely be coming back with my friends for more.”

The cast also took time out from their daily shoot schedule to explore Hong Kong on their own. They enjoyed dimsums and egg tarts, visited the Old Town Central and local district Sham Shui Po, apart from exploring the offbeat side of Hong Kong at Lantau Island, home to the Big Buddha with views of the lush mountainside which can be seen on a glass-bottomed cable car ride to the island.

The fourth and the final episode of “It Happened in Hong Kong” will be out on Friday.

It won’t be wrong to say that 2017 has been a rather good year for Varun Dhawan. With both of his releases- ‘Badrinath ki Dulhania’ and ‘Judwaa 2’ being blockbusters and crossing the Rs. 200 crore mark, we thought it could not get any better for him…turns out it can.

Getting immortalized in the form of a wax statue at the legendary Madame Tussauds is a huge deal for any and every celebrity. But it becomes a greater deal when your wax statue is going to break records and Varun Dhawan is doing just that. The Bollywood heartthrob is all set to have a wax statue created in his image at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong and THIS is why it is a big deal.

With this achievement, Varun is not only the youngest Indian actor to have a statue at the wax museum at Hong Kong but is also the fourth Indian face at the Hong Kong center. The other three are Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan.

The actor, who is in seventh heaven, confirmed the news through his Twitter handle.

More than 200 measurements were taken and his hair color, eye color and skin tone were also closely matched. Varun himself has been working closely with the sculpting team and giving them ideas about the statue’s final look.

All’s well and done and we definitely can’t wait for his statue to be unveiled. But one thing we can’t help but think about is what pose would his statue be in?

Taking the past into consideration, Madame Tussauds’ statues, though stunning, usually include the celebrities standing in a rather stiff pose. So we thought of some poses that the Tussauds team could consider while making his statute. You know, just to break the monotony.

1. The ‘debut’ pose

Varun made his debut with ‘Student of The Year’ back in 2012 and with his first film itself; he managed to make women all over the world swoon over his charming looks and excellent physique. Although we doubt that Madame Tussauds would ever go the extra mile and consider a shirtless pose, his iconic rockstarish entry in the film definitely makes for a good pose.

2. The ‘Shah Rukh Khan’ pose

Varun, who is an ardent fan of Shah Rukh (who isn’t?) loves to imitate this classic and legendary pose of the Badshah of Bollywood and we have to say, he does it pretty well.

We’re pretty sure he would be more than happy to have his statue in the same pose as his favorite actor.

3. The ‘sitting on an imaginary chair’ pose

This one might prove to be a little difficult to execute but Varun Dhawan channeling this pose on top of a bus while lip syncing to his hit song ‘Palat’ is definitely noteworthy.

4. The ‘making a heart’ pose

We aren’t exactly a fan of this pose but it seems to be quite popular with his admirers.

5. The ‘Badlapur meme’ pose

Last but definitely not the least, this still from the movie ‘Badlapur’ went viral over the internet. Also, Varun’s intense expression gave Twitter users the perfect opportunity to churn hilarious memes.

Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ has not just ruled Indian box office but even had set China’s box office on fire. And if you thought it was done making records, you were all wrong. Looking at its present performance, we are sure, it’s all set to make another record.

After India and China, the movie based on real life story of wrestler Mahavir Phogat and his daughters is now taking Hong Kong by a storm.

When the film was released in China, it sparked the feminist debate but despite all this, the film was loved by the people. In fact, the craze of the film was so big that they even paid tribute to Uncle Khan, as Aamir is fondly called there.

And now it looks like Hong Kong loves it too. The film was released there on 24th August and has been ruling the box office there as well. Within span of just a week the film has earned six million Hong Kong dollars and still counting.

Nitesh Tiwari’s film is already the highest grossing film in Bollywood and its smashing performance in China surprised many. In fact, the collection of Dangal was way more than its domestic collection. Well, we can definitely say that Aamir Khan knows how to win people’s heart.

“Dangal is an extremely special film for us, a story that we strongly believed in continues to win hearts across borders. It’s overwhelming that even today — nine months after its release in India, the film dominates the box office wherever it goes — including in new and relatively uncharted waters like in mainstream Hong Kong this weekend. It reinstates our belief that a good story, if made well can connect everywhere,” said Amrita Pandey, Vice President, Studio- Disney India.

On the first day, Dangal made 85,000 million dollars in Hong Kong. Many were disappointed when the film couldn’t reach the mark of 2000 crore but looking at the scenario in Hong Kong, one can be hoped that the film might make another record soon.

Shekhar Kapur, the man who has given us classics like ‘Bandit Queen’, ‘Mr. India’ and ‘Masoom’, is all set to floor us with his upcoming project on Bruce Lee. The celebrated Director and Producer, Kapur is making an “authorized biopic” on the life Bruce Lee, the legendary martial artist and actor.

If the names Kapur and Bruce Lee do not excite you, wait till you hear about the crew’s new member. Oscar-winning composer aka the music maestro aka who is also known as the Mozart of Madras, A.R. Rahman is going to compose the music for this film. “A.R. Rahman is also doing the music for Bruce Lee,” Kapur said in an interview. The film titled ‘Little Dragon’ is set in the backdrop of 1950s Hong Kong. It is a contemporary adaptation that will take us through the social and political forces, which turned Bruce Lee into the most famous martial artist and star.

When two talent houses come under one roof, only sky is the limit and as we have our bar of expectations set really high, we can’t really wait for other interesting developments to be thrown at us. While Kapur will soon start working with Rahman, his daughter Kaveri has already struck a chord and is all set to do a single with Rahman. Kapur said, “Kaveri and I are going to go to Chennai. She is doing a song with A.R. Rahman.”

We wonder if some people will still question his music, especially those who left the London concert midway because Rahman played too many Tamil songs.
