Bigg Boss 11 Day 17: Contestants celebrate Diwali in the house

Day 17 in the Bigg Boss house was an eventful one. It started with Vikas’ team strategizing their war plan against Puneesh’s team in the Luxury Budget Challenge, moving on to delectable goodies baked by Sabyasachi and finally, towards the end of the day – Diwali sweets by Bigg Boss.

Early in the morning, Vikas is seen in jail. He is visibly agitated, and now with Arshi alongside him, he asks her to help him in his team’s challenge against team Puneesh. He clearly hasn’t been able to get over the events of the previous day. He asks Arshi to get two boxes – and gloves. He dons the rubber gloves, and gets all set to start collecting insects. He keeps the dead insects in one box and all live ones in the other.

While he’s doing this, Hina is seen speaking to the team members about how they will not give the other team any time to recuperate between attacks – there will be a constant onslaught. Hina will follow her plan to the T.

As the day progresses, on popular demand, Sabyasachi bakes an apple pie and a special cake for the contestants, which is loved by everyone. They all wish each other Happy Diwali. Hugs and kisses are passed around – some warmer and more affectionate than the others.
They even take the pie to the Kaal Kothri and offer it to the inmates; the love in the air is palpable.

Bigg Boss even sends sweets to the contestants, after all – they’ve been his guests for over two weeks now. They are all smiles when the beautiful gift wrapping is opened, and the sweets are revealed. They feed each other, and even offer cake and pie to Bigg Boss.

'Bigg Boss 11': Arshi Khan's 'vulgar' video goes viral

One of the most controversial contestants on ‘Bigg Boss 11’, Arshi Khan, has grabbed headlines yet again, and this time, it is for her past antics. An old video of Arshi Khan with her female friend has gone viral online and social media users have criticised the clip for being ‘vulgar’ and ‘cheap’. In the ‘Bigg Boss 11‘ house, Arshi Khan has created quite a stir with her loud behaviour. She has had ugly spats with Hina Khan, Sapna Choudhary and Shilpa Shinde in the house. Even host and superstar Salman Khan has warned Arshi Khan about her abusive language in the ‘Bigg Boss 11’ house.

Arshi Khan is not new to controversies. Arshi Khan has been making headlines for her alleged association with Shahid Afridi for the last few years. On September 8, 2015, Arshi tweeted about her relationship with Shahid Afridi. “Yes, I had sex with Afridi! Do I need the Indian media’s permission to sleep with someone? It’s my personal life. For me it was love,” Arshi Khan tweeted. Following the revelation, a fatwa was issued against Arshi Khan by a mufti from a Madrassa in Pakistan. Arshi Khan had also received threat calls following her admission of having sex with Shahid Afridi.

In 2016, Arshi Khan claimed that she was pregnant, a statement that sparked rumours of Shahid Afridi being the father of her baby. Arshi Khan, however, didn’t clarify at that time if Shahid Afridi was the father of her child. Later, in an interview, Arshi Khan, denied being pregnant.

Last year, a video of her stripping naked for cricketers had gone viral online. Arshi Khan has done several photo shoots, with many of them creating a stir online for nudity. One of Arshi Khan’s most controversial photo shoots has been the one where she stuck pictures of Pakistani cricketers on her chest.

Arshad Warsi takes a dig at Salman Khan, calls 'Bigg Boss' a down market show

Arshad Warsi has put to words a notion that has, until now, only circulated in the media circuit through hushed whispers. “The [Bigg Boss] show is down market,” he says, alluding to the Salman Khan-hosted reality series that is now in its 11th season. The poor quality of the programme, which sees celebrities reside in a specially-constructed house for approximately 90 days, has been topic of discussion over the past few years.

“People on the show, I hear, are tacky,” says Warsi, who hosted the first season in 2006. “I haven’t seen this season, but I’ve heard about it. The channel is attempting to boost the ratings by showcasing the things that sell. And thus, morality is taking a backseat,” he says, alluding to the recent crop of participants, who, inarguably, turn to violence and misbehaviour to garner attention. Warsi calls the makers of the controversial show “businessmen”, who are not attempting to make the world better with their offering. Joining the likes of several actors and producers in blaming the audience for the worsening quality of content on TV, Warsi says, “People enjoy watching crass, and the channel is merely serving it. The content showcased on Indian television is regressive. The day people change, their taste [in content], the narrative of the shows will also change. If the world wants to see sensible people in the house, the channel will oblige. The audience wants to see dramatic people, those who fight, hit and abuse.” The suggestion, however, may seem debatable, given that the downfall of the show came to fore last week, when it failed to procure a spot on BARC’s top five TV shows, which saw Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati ace the list.

An adaptation of the British sitcom, Big Brother, the Indian version, Warsi says, was not created with the intention of merely drawing attention. “The concept back then was to understand the psyche of people and notice the developments that occur when they are made to reside in a house, isolated from the world. No one wanted to cause any trouble. There was no nudity or violence demanded in the clause.”

Given that the drama unfolded only towards the latter half of the series, the makers decided to rearrange the format, Warsi suggests. “When you meet new individuals, you can be cordial for a week. Then, you discover their traits. When good behaviour wears out, the dynamics change. It takes time for people to reach that stage. But, now the channel wants immediate TRP success, so they are consciously sending nutcases into the house.”

After a grand launch of ‘Bigg Boss 11’ by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Mumbai on Tuesday, makers of the controversial reality TV show have revealed the names of the four commoners who will be entering the house as contestants. Channel Colors TV’s Twitter account posted a video that revealed the identities of the four commoners who will be taking part in the show. Mumbai’s dreaded don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar’s son-in-law and producer of Shraddha Kapoor-starrer ‘Haseena Parkar’, Zubair Khan, is one of the commoners and has caught fans’ attention for his D-connection.

The 11th season of ‘Bigg Boss’ is all set to begin from October 1 and fans can’t keep calm. The list of commoners is officially out and the first four contestants from the list have been disclosed in a video shared by the channel.

1. Zubair Khan
Zubair Khan has co-produced Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor’s film ‘Haseena Parkar’. But, he has a real-life D-connection too! Zubair Khan is Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar’s real life son-in-law.

2. Jyoti Kumari
Jyoti Kumari is a peon’s daughter who is a student of Hans Raj College in Delhi. She hails from Patna in Bihar.

3. Shivani Durgah
Shivani Durgah is a self-proclaimed godwoman who hails from Noida. She reportedly holds two PhDs from Chicago University. Will she follow self-proclaimed godman Om Swami’s footsteps? Fans will have to wait and watch!

Salman Khan's Paycheck For Bigg Boss 11 Will Make Him The Highest Paid TV Actor In The World

Bigg Boss is back, and how! The popular reality show is all set to come to our TV screens in just a matter of days and of course, any and every information which is even remotely related to the show is making headlines.

The popularity of the show increased manifold when Salman Khan was roped in as the host, back in 2012. Barring this year, every other year, rumors about Salman not willing to host the show do the rounds; much to the dismay of the show’s fans as for most of them, imagining a season of Bigg Boss without Salman is impossible.

Fortunately for them, Salman is back with his charm as the host of the eleventh season. With a confusing yet interesting theme of ‘Neighbours’, this season will see a mix of celebrities and commoners who will stay put in the closed house for over 100 days with more than 80 cameras capturing all their movements.

Now every day there’s some or the other news about the show, whether it’s related to this year’s tentative contestants list, the past controversies associated with the show and even Salman’s outfits. But what manages to garner most attention each year is Salman’s remuneration.

Given the superstar that he is, we don’t expect him to charge anything less than a few crores. Apparently, he charged around Rs. 2.5 crore per episode from Season 4 to Season 6. Then, he doubled his fees to Rs. 5 crore for ‘Bigg Boss 7′. For ‘Bigg Boss 8′, he is estimated to have charged Rs. 5.5 crore per episode and for ‘Bigg Boss 9′, he increased his fees to Rs. 7-8 crore per episode and for the previous season 10, he took home Rs. 8 crore per episode.

But according to reports, for the eleventh season, Salman will get a mind-boggling paycheck of Rs 11 crore per episode. Yes, per episode. Now the show is expected to go over a period of 13 weeks of shoot, so that means that Salman will earn more than Rs. 250 crores in just three months.

Fun fact: Our calculators were ready to explode after arriving at this number, and so were our minds.

It was highly likely of this news being a rumor so at the press conference of Bigg Boss last night, a journalist asked Salman about his fees.

The actor, without directly answering the question, started laughing loudly while walking on the stage and went on towards Raj Nayak, COO, Viacom 18. He then started humming a song from his movie ‘Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega’ and said, “Bolo na, Bolo na”. That is when Raj Nayak took the mike and said, “Salman doesn’t come so cheap.”

Although this is hardly confirmation, the fact that the actor didn’t deny these claims says quite a bit.

The truth, however, would probably be revealed once the season gets over.

On the movie front, Salman is gearing up for the promotions of his upcoming movie ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ which would release in December.
