After Weaving Magic In 'Piku', Deepika Padukone & Irrfan Khan Reunite For Another Movie

After charming us with their striking chemistry in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Piku’, actors Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan are now coming together for Vishal Bhardwaj’s next movie which will be directed by Honey Trehan. For all those fans who were eagerly hoping for them to romance each other in ‘Piku’, their wishes might just come true as the reports state that Deepika will play a mafia queen and Irrfan will be a local gangster in love with her. The shoot is expecting to begin early next year and is apparently based on investigative journalist-turned-author S Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. Deepika will play the role of female gangster Rahima Khan aka Sapna Didi who had apparently planned Dawood Ibrahim’s execution to avenge her husband Mehmood Kaliya’ death.

According to a report published in Mumbai Mirror, a source revealed that “The team had been meaning to meet for a while now. Since Deepika wasn’t shooting for ‘Padmavati’ and Irrfan is in town, they decided to gather on Tuesday to discuss the script, how their characters would shape up and their looks.” Talking about the movie, Trehan said in an interview, “Deepika and Irrfan are the final leads of the film. However, right now it is too early to talk about anything else about the film. And about casting the two of course you choose an actor or actors, because they will be able to portray the roles well, and do justice to their characters. That’s the same rule for every film and a case for every filmmaker.”

Earlier we saw Deepika fight with swords as the badass Mastani in ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and have already seen her badass avatar in ‘xXx: Return Of The Xander Cage’. This time around, she will reportedly be learning how to wield a gun, after the wrap-up of shoot for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. Irrfan, on the other hand, will start training and will be performing his own stunts. Irrfan is currently working on his upcoming project alongside Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar.

It’s exciting to see how Bollywood is gradually shifting towards throwing light on the lives of female gangsters. While, Deepika will place herself in the shoes of Sapna Didi, actress Shraddha Kapoor has already proved her mettle in the trailer of ‘Haseena Parker’. She will play the role of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister and her brother Sidhant Kapoor will play Dawood in the movie.

After impressing us with his exceptional acting prowess in ‘Kaabil’, actor Hrithik Roshan is back in action and this time he is all set to take his love for Mathematics to new heights. Reportedly, the actor will most likely don the hat of mathematician Anand Kumar, in his upcoming project. Yes, you heard it right, the actor is in talks with the makers of ‘Super 30′, a biopic on the life of Kumar, although there is no confirmation as of now. If everything gets confirmed, then this will be the first time that Hrithik will work in a biopic.

According to a report published in DNA, Hrithik recently met Anand Kumar at his house, “I had a very nice meeting with him. He’s a fantastic person.” The actor further added, “Apart from the movie, I have engaged in a lot of other conversations with him about his life. It’s an extremely inspirational journey.” Hrithik, however, did not give out any details about the movie or his role. He told DNA, “It’s too early to get into such details. I am also looking at many other scripts. Nothing is official right now. But, yes this seems like a very, very good journey for me to collaborate on. We have to wait for the official announcement.” Vikas Bahl might be directing the project.

Further, Kumar after meeting Hrithik, reportedly said, “I am aware that Hrithik doesn’t look anything like me. But I don’t think the physical resemblance is as important as understanding my personality. I feel Hrithik with his sensitive approach to characters will be able to project my thoughts, opinions and world view better than any other actor.” In fact, if rumours are to be believed then actress Katrina Kaif too might be a part of the project as she too recently met Kumar.

‘Kaabil’ was no doubt a successful Bollywood film this year and the fact that the actor was approached by 20th Century Fox for a Hollywood remake only establishes the same. It will now be interesting to see how the actor places himself in Kumar’s shoes on screen. Kumar is an inspiration for the whole country. His Super 30 is a Patna-based Indian educational program founded by Kumar, which selects meritorious students from the underprivileged and marginalized sections of the society and coaches them for the prestigious institutes like IIT for free.

It has been nearly two weeks since lyricist and screenwriter Prasoon Joshi succeeded Pahlaj Nihalani to take over the position of the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) chief. And it seems that within 12 days of his joining, Joshi has already sent a movie into his recycle bin. ‘Toofan Singh’, the first film sent to Joshi for certification has been reportedly banned in India on the grounds of excessive violence. It is a Punjabi film directed by Baghal Singh and narrates the story of Toofan Singh, who adopted terrorism to fight politics and corruption in the Indian bureaucracy.

According to a report published in DNA, a source from the CBFC said, “Toofan Singh is a terrorist, who goes on a rampage killing corrupt cops and politicians. And they’ve compared him to Bhagat Singh. The film is brutal and anarchic. We couldn’t empathise with its message of brute power, let alone grant it a censor certificate.” The film, however, has already been released overseas. Ranjit Bawa plays the titular role of Toofan Singh.

Joshi joined as the CBFC chief after Pahlaj Nihalani was fired by the government and we are sure Bollywood must have breathed a sigh of relief after his ousting. Nihalani was often at loggerheads with the directors for his unnecessary ‘cuts’ in films. If you think the word unnecessary is kind of weird to use here, well, don’t forget that he is the guy under whose leadership the censor board released a list of banned words that included ‘Bombay’ and over 30 other cuss words. Had Bollywood listened to him, then National award-winning movies like ‘Darr’, ‘Dabangg’, ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘The Dirty Picture’ or ‘Omkara’ wouldn’t have captured our attention like they did.

‘Creed II’ will see Adonis ‘Donnie’ Creed (Michael B. Jordan), Apollo’s son, avenge his father’s death by going toe-to-toe with the man who killed him. In fact, not long ago, even Stallone hinted about Ivan’s ultimate fight with Donnie. Although time will tell how the movie shapes up, but we don’t think we can hold together our excitement anymore. But, the good news is that a showdown between Rocky and Drago is definitely on the cards. According to TMZ Sports, Stallone said, “It wouldn’t be a party without Drago, would it? I’m gonna punch him. If you thought that the South Korean movie ‘A Tale of Two Sisters’ was the creepiest psychological horror so far, watch ‘The Evil Within’ because it surpasses every movie in the horror, supernatural and psychological thriller genre. ‘The Evil Within’ narrates the story of a mentally challenged boy whose dreams start haunting him as he gets drawn towards a demonic creature, which connects with his reflection in an antique mirror. All hell breaks loose when the demon orders him to go on a murderous rampage and kill the ones he loved the most.

Getty, a millionaire and grandson of J. Paul Getty (founder of Getty Oil) was really obsessed and passionate about this movie and it is believed that it depicts fragments of Getty’s own twisted dreams and nightmares. Frederick Koehler, who plays the boy’s role in the movie, told The Hollywood Reporter, “Essentially, I’m playing Andrew.” He further added, “When he talked about the construction of the script, he would often say that a lot of content came from his own personal dreams. He was battling with a lot of demons.” In fact, Producer Michael Luceri too echoed similar thoughts. He told People, “Andrew had a lot of fun as a kid. He had dreams of a mirror, just his reflection and he did wonder, ‘What if this was someone else in another place?’”

Getty reportedly spent an estimate of $4 million to $6 million of his own fortune for this movie. In fact, he reportedly even sold his prized AC Cobra sports car to fund the movie. Reports suggested that Getty died from gastrointestinal hemorrhage and ulcer. However, it was later found that he had deadly levels of methamphetamine aka meth in his body. After Getty’ death, Producer Michael Luceri took it on him to complete the movie. In the course of 15 years, the movie saw many changes not just in the title but also in the cast and crew.

From being born in the riches to giving it all for a film and at one point eating cereals for days, Andrew’s efforts definitely didn’t go in vain and the movie is as bone chilling and scary as one can imagine.

Clowns are cute and funny, but only when they are inside our TV screens or in a circus; not when we stay alone and have a clown, wake us up at 3.30 AM with his creepy smile. Honestly, I have nothing against clowns, but thanks to some brilliant movie directors, I can’t look past the image of them staring at us from one corner of a room. While we are discussing clowns, ‘American Horror Story: Cult’ is all set to premiere in the first week of September and its latest teaser is an overdose of scary clowns and bees. If ‘Annabelle: Creation’ wasn’t enough to frighten and scare the sh*t out of us, ‘American Horror Story: Cult’ is all set to creep our senses out. Watch the trailer here.

Reportedly, the co-creator Ryan Murphy earlier reportedly said that the seventh season will focus on 2016’s election campaign between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. However, we didn’t get a glimpse of any politician in the frame. All we saw was a montage of clowns, bees, rats, huge spiders, blood stained teeth occult puzzles and trippy sounds effects. Although some might argue that this teaser doesn’t stand close to any horror movie and we should compare it to any movie, but when it comes to creepiness, this movie is on point. If you are brave-heart, then watch out the premiere on September 5.

Twinkle Khanna is hands down the most savage, funniest and wittiest person on Twitter, who never lets anything slide past her easily. Honestly, thanks to her and her hilarious and sarcastic remarks that even the mundane news pieces interest us. It is her sarcasm that led her and Twitter to an interesting revelation. While actor Akshay Kumar is still basking in the success of his movie ‘Toilet: Ek prem Katha’, his wife aka Mrs. Funnybones seems to have guessed the plot for the movie’s second season already. Well, clearly it looks like it will take more than a film to change the mindset of the society when it comes to open defecation, but that the movie was made to bring about a positive in the society is what’s worth appreciating.

Having said that, the Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer movie has already entered the Rs. 100 crore Club within a few days of its release and the success is just the beginning, we don’t think the crze will fade away anytime soon. The movie talks about Keshav and Jaya who fall in love and get married. However, on her first day, she realizes that there is not a single toilet in the village and women have to go to the fields in the dark to relieve themselves. She walks out of her husband’s home and then starts Keshav’s struggle to get the love of his life back by building toilets in the village.

Of all the noteworthy words our beloved Captain Jack Sparrow said in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise, there was one dialogue that kind of stuck in our minds – “Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate”. And we guess neither Johnny Depp nor the kids of BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada will forget those words, especially after Depp paid a surprise visit to the hospital dressed as Jack Sparrow.

No treasure can be bigger than bringing a smile on someone’s face and making them feel special and Depp did exactly that. The hospital appreciated the actor’s gesture by posting pictures of the 54-year-old Depp who is currently busy shooting for his new comedy drama ‘Richard Says Goodbye’.

Depp looked really happy and excited to be meeting and posing with the kids and we are sure that his young fans didn’t feel any different.

In the five hours he spent at the hospital, he not only spent quality time with patients but also participated in sword fights with some of them and filled the air with laughter and joy.

In a video posted by the hospital on their Facebook page, the actor was seen playing with the kids and jokingly said one of the young patients “How do you do? I have no sword. I come in peace.”

The kids too were extremely excited and elated meeting their favourite pirate. One of them even said in the video, “I didn’t wake up in the morning knowing I was going to see Johnny Depp today.”

He didn’t get out of his character while enjoying with the kids and made their dreams come true. This is not the first time that the actor paid surprise visits to his fans. In April, the actor reportedly surprised riders on Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Last year, he visited Great Ormond Street Hospital in London as well.

Police Arrest Four Men Who Leaked Game of Thrones Episode 4 Proving That Piracy Doesn't Pay

Our favourite show ‘Game of Thrones’ is back with its 7th season and so is our obsession for watching it before everyone else. To avoid spoilers and ruin it for everyone else, the fastest option seems to be the pirated and leaked versions floating online. Well, when half the world is watching it, why shouldn’t we, right? But, ever wondered what happens to the source who leaks it? They get arrested by the cyber cell before they can even get to see the ‘leaked episode 6′. If Monday wasn’t bad anyway, it turned worse for these four men who saw the real life White Walkers aka Mumbai police, walk into their lives and arrest them for leaking an episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ online.

Three employees of Prime Focus Technology and a former employee have been accused of leaking the show’s fourth episode online. Reportedly, the complaint was filed by the company. It processes the series for online streaming service Hotstar and a Mumbai court remanded them in police custody till August 21. Yes, we are talking about ‘The Spoils of War’ and apparently the leak of this episode was separate from the HBO hack that stirred a storm on the Internet.

The company that is said to have the season’s airing rights lodged a complaint after they found the low quality video of the episode on the internet, before the official airing. They caught hold of the culprits because they saw the channel’s watermark on it. According to Hindustan Times, the people accused are Bhaskar Joshi, Alok Sharma, Abhishek Ghadiyal and Mohammad Suhail. They have been booked under section 408, 34 of IPC for breach of trust with common intention and sections 43 and 66 of IT Act for penalty and compensation for damage to computer and computer-related offences.

‘Game of Thrones’ has already become the most pirated show on television and has compelled half of us to wait for the leak, more than the actual airing of any episode. While, we are losing our sh*t over the leaked episode 6, please beware before sharing anything because ‘cyber cell is coming’.

Amitabh Bachchan Joins The Specially-Abled Kids To Sing Our National Anthem Using Sign Language

As India completes 70 years of Independence, the Ministry of Human Resource Development kick started the celebrations in the most beautiful way ever with a soulful rendition of the national anthem. The HRD ministry released a video a few days ago, featuring actor Amitabh Bachchan and many specially-abled children singing along with him.

Set in the backdrop of the Red Fort, this video features Bachchan, who is joined by some kids, singing the national anthem using sign language. Another reason why this rendition is a special one is because the background score was composed by Aadesh Shrivastava, the renowned Bollywood music composer who passed away two years ago. The video is directed by veteran filmmaker Govind Nihalani and the concept was created by Satish Kapoor, founder and director of We Care Film Festival. Check out the beautiful version here.

In fact, Mahendra Nath Pandey, the Minister of State for HRD reportedly praised PM Narendra Modi for his efforts and said, “Modi has a vision that India’s development will be complete when our ‘divyangjan’ become an integral part of it and come forward in the nation building.” He further called for creating an environment where the specially-abled people can “earn a livelihood and live an independent life like any other citizen.”

Well no matter how many versions of our National Anthem are made, this will always be the most heart-warming and emotional rendition and close to our hearts.
