Actors Aahana Kumra and Amol Parashar, who came together for “It Happened in Hong Kong”, a travel style web series in Hong Kong, are awestruck by the dining, shopping and outdoor experiences that the place offers. The ongoing series, developed by OTT platform Viu, was made in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board. It highlights the sights, culture and experiences in the city, and is set against a romantic and adventurous storyline of two solo travellers, who come across each other while visiting Hong Kong and decide to explore the city together.

They discover the city’s local culture, outdoor adventures, hidden temples, street food, street art, street shopping and nightlife together.

Both Aahana and Amol captured the moments for their fans via social media.

“This was my first visit to Hong Kong and I was completely mesmerised by the variety of things you can do here. The city and local culture is amazing and so is the great outdoors and shopping. So much to discover,” Aahana said in a statement.

Amol added: “I’ve always wanted to come to Hong Kong and try the dimsums and I’m so glad I did. There are so many choices when it comes to local dining and cultural experiences, I was amazed. I will definitely be coming back with my friends for more.”

The cast also took time out from their daily shoot schedule to explore Hong Kong on their own. They enjoyed dimsums and egg tarts, visited the Old Town Central and local district Sham Shui Po, apart from exploring the offbeat side of Hong Kong at Lantau Island, home to the Big Buddha with views of the lush mountainside which can be seen on a glass-bottomed cable car ride to the island.

The fourth and the final episode of “It Happened in Hong Kong” will be out on Friday.

Actress-turned-author Twinkle Khanna, who is married to actor Akshay Kumar and is a mother of two children, says that the current generation of Bollywood is more equipped to handle the glare of the spotlight thanks to social media. “It has become increasingly more difficult to keep our children shielded within our fishbowl existence but I also console myself with the fact that this generation growing up with social media at the forefront is probably more equipped to handle the glare of the spotlight than we were,” Twinkle told IANS when asked how she maintains her kids privacy keeping in mind that so much of scrutiny nowadays is related to star kids.

Akshay and Twinkle tied the knot in 2001 and together they have son Aarav and daughter Nitara.

She is also a producer and her last venture was “Padman” that starred Akshay along with Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.

The film was based on a short story from Twinkle’s book The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad. The book has already sold 100,000 copies.

Is Twinkle open to writing an autobiography in the near future?

“I think when you write a book about your own life it’s very difficult to be completely honest even with yourself. Fiction will paradoxically always have more honesty than a memoir,” she said.

Yesterday, Farhan Akhtar deleted his Facebook account. The actor-producer-singer announced it on Twitter. He wrote, “This is to inform you that I have permanently deleted my personal Facebook account. However, the verified FarhanAkhtarLive page is still active (sic).”

Though he did not spell out the reason, it is said that the actor did so in the wake of the Facebook data breach row. Facebook is facing the heat after a British consulting company was allegedly accused of accessing data of up to 50 million Facebook users without permission.

Jack Whitehall will play Emily Blunt’s brother in the upcoming movie adaptation of the popular Disneyland ride

Comedian-actor Jack Whitehall is on board “Jungle Cruise”. The 29-year-old actor will play Emily Blunt’s brother in the upcoming movie adaptation of the popular Disneyland ride, which also stars Dwayne Johnson, Variety reported. Whitehall also took to Twitter to confirm the news.

“So excited to be joining Jungle Cruise with the incredible Emily Blunt and one of my heroes @TheRock going to be a blast. #Disney #JungleCruise (sic),” he wrote. According to ScreenRant.com, Blunt plays a scientist in the movie who teams up with a riverboat captain, played by Johnson, on the hunt for a magical cure. Jaume Collet-Serra is directing.

Actress Mallika Sherawat, who is known for her versatility as an actor decided to take some time off her busy schedule and head to Amsterdam. The actress was in the beautiful city to visit the headquarters of the NGO ‘Free-A-Girl’ which she is actively part of. While there, she decided to explore some of Amsterdam’s exotic locales.

Mallika had chalked out a plan to some of the famous tourist attractions while in the city. One of the major highlights and famous attractions of Amsterdam on her itinerary was the Tulip Fields Garden which the actress visited. Amsterdam as a tourist destination has been synonymous with Bollywood with many films including ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ)’ having been shot in the cultural capital of the Netherlands.

Says Mallika, “Ever since I watched ‘DDLJ’, I fell in love with the film and the exotic locations shown in that film. It had always been my dream to take a stroll down the Tulip Fields Garden showcased in the film. I’m glad that I finally headed there for real and experienced its beauty.”

He captioned the photo as, “Entrepreneurial.” Well, what is causing jitters is Grover sharing the photo exactly a day after friend-turned-foe Kapil Sharma’s show, Family Time With Kapil Sharma went on-air.

Sunil Grover‘s photo spread like wildfire on social media and gained several likes from the viewers. His fans had different views on the picture. While some were concerned about this action taken by the comedian-actor, some requested him to join Kapil Sharma’s show.

Well, whether this photo is from Sunil’s new show, advertisement or any other project is yet to be known.

A few days ago, Sunil revealed on Twitter the reason behind him not joining Kapil’s new show, Family Time with Kapil Sharma. On March 16, Sunil Grover spoke about the fight on Twitter, when one of the users asked him the reason behind not being a part of Kapil’s new show. Grover said that he never received a call from Kapil, despite his contact number being the same.

Sunil Grover had also tweeted that he waited for a call from the team but now has signed a new project. This led to a Twitter-war between Kapil and Sunil. Kapil accused Sunil of lying and said that his team and he approached him multiple times. “Yes .. he is lying .. I called him 100 times n sent my people to his home .. even I went to his home to meet him for the show .. but now I will not let anybody take any advantage on my name .. enough is enough….Paji I called u more then 100 times n came to ur house to meet u twice .. every time u were out for some show n all .. pls don”t spread rumors that I didn”t call u (sic),” tweeted Kapil Sharma.

Will Kapil and Sunil ever mend fences? Only time will tell.

While elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor resumed the shoot of her debut film, Dhadak and is posing for magazines, youngest kin, Khushi Kapoor was also spotted in all smiles at Bandra. The reason behind Khushi’s glowing face, reportedly is the mystery boy snapped with her in these pictures.

The pictures of Khushi Kapoor have left the fans curious and several apprehensions about the mystery guy being her boyfriend and other interpretations have started to float online. In fact, there were users, who advised her of being careful. “Be careful Khushi. Don’t let people take advantage of you (sic),” read one of the comments.

This has been an extremely tough phase for Janhvi, Khushi and the family to recuperate with this pain. However, siblings Janhvi and Khushi’s courage to move ahead in life prove that they abide by the saying, ‘The show must go on…’

On the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor is busy shooting in Kolkata with Ishaan Khatter for Dhadak, a remake of the Marathi film, Sairaat. The remake is being helmed by Shashank Khaitan and is produced by Karan Johar.

Amrapali Gupta, known for featuring in shows like Ishqbaaaz and Qubool Hai, has joined the cast of “Kaleerein”. “I am excited to join the show. It is a cameo. Zee TV is the one that made me famous and made me what I’m today. Be it ‘Teen Bahuraniyaan’ or ‘Qubool Hai’, Zee TV has always been special,” Amrapali said in a statement.

Kaleerein tells the story of Meera (Aditi Sharma), a small-town girl from Punjab who chooses to assert her individuality against the reality of bride grooming schools that are mushrooming all over Punjab; schools that prescribe a bucket-list of must-have qualities for a bride to get the perfect groom.

Amrapali is currently holidaying in Goa with husband and actor Yash Sinha. She also celebrated son Kabir’s birthday on March 24. They chose ‘police theme’ for the party. “Kabir has a special place for police in his heart. Whenever he sees a policeman, he wants to meet them. That’s why we celebrated his birthday with a police-themed party,” she said.

Shalini, known for shows like “Qubool Hai” and “Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur”, will be essaying the role of newcomer Janhvi Kapoor’s mother in “Dhadak”.

Ranveer Singh, on Monday, shared a picture on his Instagram account with rapper Naved Shaikh, in which the duo can be seen flashing their 100-watt smiles. The Bajirao of Bollywood is busy shooting for his next flick- Gully Boy, in which he will be seen as a street rapper. Reports suggest, the movie is inspired by street rappers Divine and Naved, who got famous with their style of Desi rapping.

The caption, a pick-up from one of Naved’s songs, reads- ‘Aane de Aane de Aane de @naezythebaa #gullyboy” (sic).

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Ranveer and Alia Bhatt will be pairing up on the silver screen for the first time for Gully Boy. Ranveer has also been meeting rappers from Mumbai to hone up his skills.

The film is scheduled to release on Valentine’s Day next year.
