Sonam Kapoor’s pre-wedding celebrations began on Sunday at her home in Mumbai. The 32-year-old actor will tie the knot with Delhi-based businessman Anand Ahuja on Tuesday morning in a private ceremony at her aunt’s house in Bandra. The actor and her close friends and family kick-started the celebrations with an intimate mehendi ceremony at Juhu residence. Sonam’s cousins including Arjun Kapoor, Mohit Marwah, Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor, uncle Sanjay Kapoor and filmmaker Karan Johar arrived at her residence earlier in the evening. The groom was also clicked outside her bungalow.

The mehendi and sangeet party for the industry people will take place Monday evening in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), and is expected to have the who’s who of Bollywood in attendance. The security has been beefed up at the venue of the mehendi and sangeet party. Sonam Kapoor‘s house has become a meeting spot for all her Bollywood friends like Varun Dhawan, Swara Bhasker, Jacqueline Fernandez and Karan, with them rehearsing for tomorrow’s function. The wedding ceremony on May 8 will be followed by a grand reception in the evening at a five-star hotel in Andheri. Sonam and Anand Ahuja, who have been dating for over two years now, announced their wedding last week in an official joint statement.

Ergo the title, ‘the merc with the mouth’, and who better to bring that voice to life in Hindi than the adorably eccentric Ranveer?

The man, who has impressed us as the menacing Alauddin Khilji in ‘Padmaavat’, has now taken another interesting character. One look at the Hindi trailer and you will agree that he is the ideal pick for the voice over. If there is anyone who could have justified Ryan Reynolds’ character it was just Ranveer.

Ranveer puts his trademark skills to this role, cursing like a boss, jumping from Marathi to Punjabi accents like a pro.

However, this isn’t the first Hindi trailer we’ve seen of the film. The first one had a different voice which somehow talked about PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and Aadhaar card.

Earlier, reports had suggested that Ranveer had rejected the role due to his work commitments but we are glad things have worked out. Because if it wasn’t for him, Deadpool would have never sounded this amazing. Just imagine him saying, “Teri maa ka Sakinaka” or “Kitna taras dega Thanos”!

Celebrations were at full swing at the Kapoor household, as Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam Kapoor gets ready to tie the knot with beau Anand Ahuja. The mehendi ceremony on Sunday evening was attended by family and friends, which included the who’s who of Bollywood. Sonam’s siblings Harshvardhan Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, cousins Anshula Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Jahan Kapoor, Mohit Marwah, Arjun Kapoor, uncles Boney Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, aunt Maheep Kapoor, friends Kunal Rawal, Masaba Gupta, filmmaker Karan Johar and many others were in attendance for the special occasion’s at dad Anil’s residence in Mumbai. After dating each other for two years Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja will finally get hitched on May 8, 2018. As per a report in a major news daily, Sonam reportedly met Anand through a mutual designer friend, Pernia Qureshi. Sparks ignited and the businessman asked the diva out, and ever since they’ve been thick.

The soon-to-be bride and groom made their first public appearance at Akshay Kumar’s bash honoured for Will Smith. On May 1st, the Kapoors and Ahujas confirmed the wedding date through an official statement, which read, “The Kapoor & Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam & Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love,as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.” There’s no confirmation as to whether friend and frequent collaborator Farah Khan will be a part of the pre-wedding festivities as she’s currently nursing an injury.

Sonam Kapoor will next be seen in Veere Di Wedding alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. The film is scheduled to release on June 1st.

While we’re on the topic of her wedding, she also revealed some ‘bedroom rules’ that they’ve already set in place, and no, not those kinds of rules.

It’s more about Sonam being so attached to her phone. She said, “It’s a rule basically Anand has put on both of us. Right before I sleep I have to put my phone on charging in the bathroom or I charge it in the hall of other room.”

When asked that why she hasn’t confirmed or acknowledged the relationship in the media before, she said, “Social media is in my control. I am not going to disrespect this person and be like that he doesn’t exist in my life. At the same time, I am not going to disrespect that person by speaking about him and other people interpreting in a different way. So, I will not talk about it or hide it.”

If you managed to cure your ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ hangover in the past few days, then you will have noticed the entry of this warrior; who isn’t exactly a superhero but definitely not any less than the ones who have superpowers.

We’re talking about the upcoming action movie ‘Robin Hood’, the trailer of which quite effortlessly made its way into our YouTube feeds over the weekend. Honestly, this trailer has left us with all kinds of feels and I am going to break it down one by one, right now.

To begin with, for me this movie seemed to be looming heavily on ‘Game of Thrones’ kind of theme. Be it death scenes, romance or an intense action sequence, I could sense a lot of similarity between the two. But, the CGI needs to be given its due credit as the action scenes are awesome.

Honestly, in this 2 minute video I was actually hoping (not really) for Jon Snow or a White Walker to make a cameo, this would have turned the trailer into a bigger crossover than…you already know what we mean. Maybe we won’t miss ‘Game of Thrones’ after this movie’s release? Nah! We’ll still miss it.

Another thing that this trailer taught me is that Medieval England was quite advanced and way ahead of their time. People back then were so fancy, their fashion sense was so on point that Robin Hood didn’t wear anything less than a leather jacket with machine-stitched hoodie. If someone told me that this was not really a movie, but an advertisement for a leather jacket, showcasing the agility and flexibility one gets after wearing it, I would have totally believed them.

In all fairness, maybe they were experimental with their outfits back then, but were stitching machines even invented by that time? Or was it just the costume designer who forgot that it was supposed to be a period fictional drama? As expected, Twitter unapologetically trolled the movie and the costume like it’s no one’s damn business.

What in the world? I can’t believe they did this. Fully machine stitched. Looking at production stills, all costumes obviously machine stitched. They didn’t even try to fake hand sewn. The New Robin Hood line, coming to a GAP near you.

The trailer also made me feel that director Otto Bathurst (known for ‘Peaky Blinders’) was confused while making the movie. Questions like these were probably going on in his mind – “Should we turn him into a superhero or leave him like that? Can we make him look like a superhero without any powers but just a fancy bow and arrow?” Well, the ridiculous rate at which he is shooting arrows can give anyone a headache, so we guess that kind of makes him a ‘superhero’ in his own right.

This revamped fancier version of ‘Robin Hood’ looks real badass and deserves a shot. The movie features Taron Egerton as Robin Hood, Jamie Foxx as Little John, Ben Mendelsohn as Hood’s enemy Sheriff of Nottingham, Jamie Dornan as Little Scarlet and Eve Hewson as Maid Marian.

I am so into this movie, particularly because I want to know what the outcome is going to be like, given how the turn of events is. You won’t have to wait for long. ‘Robin Hood’ which is produced by Leonardo DiCaprio is hitting the theatres on November 21.

Actress Sonam Kapoor, who is all set to tie the knot with her long-time Delhi-based businessman boyfriend Anand Ahuja, says she is an extremely private person and is very protective about her personal life. The Khoobsurat actress has always maintained silence about her relationship with Anand and is even tight-lipped about her wedding. The families of the couple confirmed last week that they will tie the knot on May 8.

Asked if she is open to talk about her personal life, Sonam told IANS over e-mail from Mumbai: “I am very protective about my personal life. I’m an extremely private person and I do feel somewhere that it takes away attention from your work.” Sonam and Anand have been dating for some years, but it is only since a few months that they have been open about their moments and travel diaries together on social media. Soon after her wedding, the actress will be seen on the silver screen in the film Veere Di Wedding and she says that it’s a “very commercial film”.

“It’s a genuine film about four women and there is no lead role. I am really excited to work with Kareena (Kapoor Khan), Swara (Bhaskar) and Shikha (Talsania). They are all wonderfully talented women and actors,” she added. Sonam Kapoor strongly believes that Bollywood needed its own girl-bonding film. “So far the films being made are specifically for women, with related themes. Why do women-oriented films have to be hard-hitting for them to make an impact? Veere Di Wedding is a film for women and their men too,” said the 32-year-old actress.

A week after her D-day, Sonam will be seen at the 71st Cannes Film Festival red carpet to fulfil her commitment as a L’oreal Paris brand ambassador on May 14 and May 15. She says she is looking forward to the energy at the gala.

“I enjoy everything the festival has to offer, without the pressure. Also, this year, I am looking forward to the entire L’Oréal Paris #SummerEscape experience — the beach, the Riviera, lounging by the sea and, of course, meeting the other L’Oréal Paris ambassadors!” she said. The Aisha actress says she always loves experimenting when it comes to fashion.

“I completely trust Rhea (Sonam’s younger sister) and her team as she always knows what looks best on me. I am also very excited to see the looks the brand’s dream team have designed for me using the #SummerEscape Cannes Collection. The collection has bold and bright shades which are inspired by the colours of summer,” she said.

There has always been a debate about how Indian celebrities’ presence is larger in terms of endorsements and less for films. So what does Sonam have to say to that? “The responsibility is just about the same. Celebrities are ambassadors for their respective countries, whether representing a brand or a film. I do understand that while the festival is spoken highly about in terms of the fashion, over the years the press has definitely made it as much about the films as fashion,” said Sonam.

But the Neerja actress does not take criticism of her fashion very seriously. “Everyone has hits and misses and I’ve never really taken the trolling seriously. I enjoy dressing up and I take criticism with a pinch of salt,” she added.
