The Rock Meets And Personally Thanks 10 Year Old Kid Who Saved His Drowning Brother

Tough on the outside & mush on the inside is the least eloquent but most accurate description of none other than The Rock himself. If you don’t believe us, his meeting with a brave little 10-year-old, who saved the life of his two-year-old younger brother, will surely change your mind. The big old softie, Dwayne Johnson, posted his personal interaction with the “real life 10yr old hero” on his Instagram account for the world to acknowledge the kid’s gallantry and give him due admiration and respect.

The wrestler-turned-actor’s heart melted like butter and swelled with pride on hearing how young Jacob rescued his kid brother, Dylan, from drowning in their family swimming pool, following it up with attempted CPR to keep him alive. Jacob said he drew inspiration from Johnson’s character giving CPR to his daughter in the movie “San Andreas”, a scene that ” just popped up in (his) head” and pushed him to perform the compressions on his nearly drowned baby brother.

Johnson didn’t waste time reaching out to Jacob through a post on Instagram last month, announcing that he will fly Jacob and his family to Vancouver in order to meet them personally. He even asked Jacob to “bring (his) sweet tooth”, so that he can “…eat all the chocolate and sweets (he) want(s)” at The Rock’s very own Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory (his movie set.)

As promised, Johnson flew them in and invited Jacob on the sets of his upcoming film “Skyscraper”. The real surprise, however, came in when the kid showed up in a t-shirt with The Rock’s bull insignia on the front and a shot of Johnson with his puppies, on his back.

Moved by this, Johnson could barely hold emotion back. “…it was the fact that this 10yr old kid, had a heart big enough to put our puppies on his shirt after he saved his little 2yr old brother’s life. What a special day. What a special kid. Thanks Jacob for being awesome and for being the kind of person we all aspire to be,” is how Johnson worded his interaction with Jacob, on Tuesday, in a post on Instagram.

Jacob was super nervous and shy the whole time we hung out, so it was fun getting him to laugh and talk. He threw me for an unexpected spin when he showed up on set wearing a shirt that he proudly made with my bull insignia on the front and on the back was the picture of me holding our two puppies, Brutus and Hobbs, after I rescued them from our pool. Seeing that picture on this boy’s shirt, got me in the gut. Eventually, we would lose Brutus to heaven, but it wasn’t the picture of Brutus that made me tear up, it was the fact that this 10yr old kid, had a heart big enough to put our puppies on his shirt after he saved his little 2yr old brother’s life. Sunny’s past as a porn artist has given her a hard time in Bollywood. From stars maintaining distance from her, being boycotted at an award function to celebs refusing to share the stage with her, her journey wasn’t an easy one. When everyone preferred not being anywhere near her, Chunky Pandey came to her rescue as a guardian angel.

“I think there is some sense of curiosity. Plus, at that moment, there were probably many women who didn’t like me. I’m okay with that, I don’t really care. But it was weird to sit there, and I was sitting there for very long because they couldn’t find somebody to go on stage with me,” she revealed in the podcast.

Their crowding wasn’t an aggressive or negative crowding; they were happy,” Sunny recalled. She also said that she was “shaking from being overwhelmed”. All we got to say is you rock girl and people love you.

Kiku Sharda takes a dig at Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh

Comedian Kiku Sharda, who was arrested last year for hurting the sentiments of the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, on Wednesday took a dig at the convicted sect chief.

Kiku said justice was bound to happen in the case of Ram Rahim, who was convicted of for the rape of two female disciples and sentenced to 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment by a CBI special court on August 28.

At a song launch of the film “2016 The End” here, Kiku was present with co-actors Divyendu Sharma, Rahul Roy, Priya Banerjee, Narendra Jha and director Jaideep Chopra.

The event started with an interactive fun session between Divyendu and Kiku.

Kiku introduced Divyendu as “He was last seen in Toilet (referring to the film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’).”

Divyendu responded: “Yes, and you were living in jail.”

Kiku then quipped: “I went to jail for a day and now sir has gone for 20 years.”

Divyendu asked what Kiku wants to say by that.

He replied: “No, no, I am not taking any credit for that.”

When the media asked Kiku to comment on the CBI court’s decision about his imprisonment, he said: “Well, things have been proven in the court and now we all know what he did. Justice happened and it was bound to happen, it’s karma. But whatever violence took place (following Ram Rahim’s conviction) was really sad.”

“We shouldn’t have room for violence, we are peace-loving people, and we should stay in peace.”

Stephen King is obviously not a stranger to getting his work adapted, in fact, almost each and every one if his novels and short stories has made its way to the big or small screen, some way or another.

One of his most famous novels ‘It’, which was released in 1986, was adapted in a miniseries in 1990 and proved to be a big hit, with Tim Curry’s portrayal of ‘Pennywise the Clown’ receiving a lot of praise. And now, ‘It’ is being revived again, but for a full feature film this time, which is set to release in a couple of days. If you haven’t checked it out before, you can watch the trailer right here, it’s quite interesting and terrifying.

But, the most interesting adaptation of that particular novel has to be the one that aired on Zee TV back in 1998. Isn’t it kind of weird to think about how there was a Hindi version of an American television miniseries, that too back in the 1990s?

Including the literal translation of the name, the Indian show, called ‘Woh’, was quite similar to the original miniseries it was based on. The show follows a group of seven teenagers who once beat the titular character, a red-balloon toting, child-murdering monster disguised as a clown, and then vow to return should ‘Woh’ ever rears its ugly head. Then, about thirty years later, the balloons start to appear again, forcing the original group of friends to reunite once again, this time to destroy ‘Woh’ once and for all.

Like the American version, several members of the group fall victim to ‘Woh’s’ shape-shifting and mind tricks, but by the end, the remaining survivors defeat the evil force. But, that is where all the similarities end, though. The Indian series took quite a few creative liberties, including giving ‘Who’ a mother. But with the addition of the character of ‘Woh’s’ mother, it also gave the series a way to give ‘Woh’s’ backstory and motivations.

So, basically, he was a short man who wasn’t able to fit in and get along in society, so he ended up committing suicide, but became an evil spirit in the process. Another big difference is how the group finally defeats ‘Woh’; they work together with him to help him attain “salvation” so that he’ll stop being such a scary creepy clown.

With Indian audiences being not that familiar with the original American series, it’s not that surprising that ‘Woh’ never caught on back then. If you want to check it out, all 52 episodes are available on YouTube now. Honestly, it’s definitely worth a binge watch before you go watch the new ‘It’ movie.

When former Chief of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Pahlaj Nihalani was sacked, many filmmakers celebrated that move. After all, Nihalani’s tenure was a dark era for the tinsel town and maker’s artistic liberty suffered, because of his famous cuts.

But people couldn’t contain their happiness when famous lyricist and poet Prasoon Joshi replaced him as the new CBFC chief. Most of the people in the industry called this decision a ‘progressive move’. But was it truly a good move?

Looking at the latest rules laid by Prasoon Joshi, we are sure makers are going to face a lot of problem and difficulty.

Apparently, he has given instruction to other members and officials instructing them to refrain from sharing any information regarding the film with the filmmakers. Well, the statement itself sounds like the producers are in for big trouble.

The new rules were introduced on Tuesday, according to which the suggested cuts by the board will not be informed to the filmmaker. It will only be after certification that the makers will know what happened to their film.

Doesn’t that already sound scary? From what certificate your film got, cuts, to the final timing of the film, the makers will be utterly clueless everything, until the certificate is given to them.

At least before the informal communication use to help the makers to negotiate with the CBFC. Both the parties could state what they felt before the CBFC certificate was officially given.

“Before we were told if the scene was supposed to be deleted or if the CBFC found anything problematic, this was the right to proceed with the things. What Prasoon Joshi is trying to execute is illegal, as per The Cinematography Act 0f 1952. The law clearly states that the examining committee will hear the applicant (producer or maker) before finalising anything. It’s a fundamental law and no one can change it. If he plans to do it, it is illegal. This new rule will cause a delay of many films as many times the certificate is issued just a couple of days before the film’s release”, says filmmaker Kumaar Aadarsh to MensXP.

“They can’t issue a certificate without the consent of the producer. If there is no cut it is then only the certificate is issued without any prior notice to the maker. When any kind of cut will arise by the examining committee, then a hearing takes place between the makers and the members. A certificate can’t be given until the maker expects the cuts as well. This is the law. The examining committee has the judicial power and without hearing no order can be passed,” adds Kumaar Aadarsh.

Like many makers, Kumaar has already faced many issues during Nihalani’s reign and the future doesn’t look so bright as well. If Prasoon Joshi plans to implement this new then, one thing can be said for sure, the coming days for B-town looks gloomy.

Looks like Bollywood has got its new hottest couple and people just can’t help but obsesses over these two wonderful actors. If we go by the latest buzz then Richa Chadda and Ali Fazal are dating each other. And all this started a year back.

Well, not many knew about it except a few close friends, but the couple finally decided to go public walking hand in hand at the Venice Film Festival. One glance at the picture that’s going around the Internet and you will totally see that something is definitely cooking. The actress accompanied Ali walking the red carpet with him as his film ‘Victoria and Abdul’ was being screened there.

It goes without saying that this picture has pleasantly surprised many fans. It is believed that Richa always wanted to be by his man’s side on his big day and here she is all rooting for him. Isn’t that just adorable?

There were reports that Richa was apparently dating her series co-star Angad Bedi, but we can now say that it was nothing more than plain rumours. Now what’s left for us is to see if the duo will finally make their relationship official publicly, now that they have made an appearance together!

Of course, close friends were aware of their relationship status. Richa and Ali have been friends for four years now and also have a common social circle. Their friendship turned into love only about a year ago. The transition happened gradually as they are like-minded people who share similar interests, be it films or their love for theatre.”

And now is the perfect time to remember what Richa mentioned couple of months ago, ““If you meet the right person, and fall in love, you can’t deny it. If someone is perfect for me, I’ll be with him no matter where he is from. But I have to feel that way for him. I won’t date a vaguish businessman. I?need to fall in love with the person.” On being prodded further to know if she has already found that special someone, she added, “I’m interested in some people. Let’s see where it goes. I was so busy with work, but now that I’m going on a break, I’ll finally have some time to concentrate on my love life.”

Rami Malek As Freddie Mercury Is Making Us Second Guess Our Eyesight

Rami Malek just completely redefined Queen for us with the unveiling of his first looks as Freddie Mercury for the legendary singer’s biopic. The ‘Mr Robot’ actor looks like an exact replica of Mercury, complete with his signature styled vest and the moustache as well as the attitude he embodies. Freddie Mercury becomes him.

The photos that were released yesterday on Entertainment Weekly coincide with Mercury’s birthday and pay the perfect homage to the late legend.

The film is titled ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, after one of Freddie’s most iconic songs of the same name and is being directed by Bryan Singer who has also directed the majority of the X-Men franchise movies, as well as the Oscar-winner, ‘The Usual Suspects’.

Talking about donning the role of Freddie Mercury, Rami told Entertainment Weekly, “When you’re able to open your eyes and see a different person staring back at you in the mirror, it’s a very affirming.”

The movie is said to be detailing Freddie Mercury’s rise to success and fame right from the dawn of the personality, back in 1970 to the historic performance at Live Aid in 1985.

“We’re going to use Freddie as much as possible and use myself as much as possible. I’m in Abbey Road right now if that should say anything to you. I’m not working on my acting,” said Malek when asked about how he plans to recreate Freddie’s iconic voice. Singer also added that the film won’t so much be a biopic as he would be the documenting of a series of historic events in the life of the famed singer.
