For anyone who ever had doubts about Stephen King and his ability to f**k with our minds with novels in various genres like horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, science-fiction and fantasy; the 2017 release, ‘It’, cleared all those doubts. His evil clown tale narrates the ordeal of some kids who put up a fight against a clown with a history of murder and violence in a small town in Maine. Although Andrés Muschietti’s directorial venture is yet to hit the theatres, it has already kept us on edge with the eerily exceptional performances. Having said that, while ‘It’ has raised the bar for thriller movies really high, Stephen King’s talents knows no bounds and the upcoming Netflix original ‘Gerald’s Game’ is proof of the same. The film is based on Stephen King’s 1992 novel of the same name.

Check Out The Trailer Of Stephen King's ‘Gerald's Game'© Netflix

There are some stories that lose their essence when turned into a movie, but some stories become eternal once adapted into a movie and by the looks of the trailer, ‘Gerald’s Game’ has the potential to be that movie. The trailer starts on a fun note where a couple is trying to spice up their sex life, in a remote cabin, while on their romantic trip. To take things to the next level, Gerald handcuffs his wife Jessie and while she is handcuffed to the bed, she accidentally kills Gerald, leaving her with her no means of escape. With no one around, Jessie is left with nothing but to listen to her own voice and depend on some weird and painful memories to stay alive. Things turn scary when a hungry stray dog starts wandering the vicinity and tries to attack her. How she lets her inner voice take centre-stage to get out of this situation weaves the rest of the movie.

Carla Gugino and Bruce Greenwood both look highly promising as Jessie and Gerald. The movie is being directed by Mike Flanagan who has given us horror gems like ‘Oculus’, ‘Hush’ and ‘Ouija: Origin of Evil’. While we loved reading the novel, the movie adaptation is bringing some much-needed life to the characters and we must say that so far, we are truly impressed by the trailer. This Netflix original is slated to release on September 29th.

But, why is Shaq sitting in a car alone and cracking jokes?

With so many puns, and so many dad jokes, this Carpool Karaoke episode featuring John Cena and Shaquille O’Neal could not have been any better.

Black Hercules. The Big Aristotle. Extra Tall-ems. Empire Strikes Shaq. Those were just some nicknames that WWE wrestler and actor John Cena gives his carpool buddy and basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal within the first thirty seconds of an advance clip of ‘Carpool Karaoke: The Series’.

And that was enough to start the name pun game. Seems like Cena did have a few clearly pre-prepared punny nicknames for Shaq. Obviously, Shaq was also able to fire back with a few of his own Dad jokes like, “You’ve been served a sub-Cena.”

Even though the episode is not that heavy on music, with Cena readily admitting that he isn’t much of a singer, which prompts Shaq to tell him he’s no ‘Cena Turner’.

“The general perception was that you weren’t really that good at the free throw line,” Cena muses at one point.

“Fifty percent. That’s make one, miss one. My motto is, I hit ’em when I need to hit ’em,” Shaq shrugs.

Even though this teaser for the episode is just about two minutes long, you have to admit it’s pretty damn entertaining.

Watch for yourself and see if you can actually spot John Cena, because we sure as hell cant :

Making a splash in 2014, ‘Queen’ took Bollywood by storm as it made big bucks at the box office despite any A-lister names. Not only was the movie a mega success but Kangana Ranaut became an overnight sensation as she shone as the cute yet tenacious ‘Rani’.

And now it looks like the South Indian film industries are gearing up to recreate that magic as the super hit film is just not being remade in one but four languages- Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.

The actresses bound to take on the role have some seriously huge shoes to fill as they don the mantle of the iconic character.

As per the ongoing buzz, all the four films will be directed by different filmmakers and different actresses have been signed for each language.

Parul Yadav will be the Kannada Queen, while Kajal Aggarwal will be seen donning Kangana’s character in the Tamil version.

Just a couple of days ago, it was reported that ‘Baahubali’ beauty Tamannaah will be seen in Telugu remake of ‘Queen’, while Manjima Mohan will step in for the Malayalam remake.

However, makers are yet to make the official announcement. But looking at the news and reports brewing, we already know who will be seen playing Queen.

Talking about the makers, the Telugu movie is being directed by Neelakanta, while the Kannada version is being helmed by actor-director Ramesh Arvind.

We are yet to know who will direct the Tamil version and if reports are to be believed, Neelakanta will be directing the Malayalam remake as well.

The cast and crew of the four versions are already under pressure to do justice to the movie, and here is hoping that the end results make Kangana give her approval.

The 8th and the last season of ‘Game of Thrones’ will come out in 2 years and there will be tons of fan theories till then. The 7th season just wrapped up and there are already insane theories floating around. From who will die in the next season to whether Tyrion will betray Daenerys, there’s no end to the things you can speculate about. But what do you when a GOT actor himself comes up with a possible spoiler? You don’t ignore this one. This time it’s actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, who has dropped a major bomb on us.

The 7th season ended with Jaime Lannister finally abandoning Cersei after she revealed her dark side yet again. He is most probably heading North to join the Stark and Targaryen sides against the White Walkers. Of course, we are expecting an epic battle between the army of the dead and allies of the seven kingdoms. There will be deaths, a lot of them.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, while talking to Esquire, said there could be a lot many main characters walking as Wights. While we did expect a lot of deaths from both the camps, we were not ready to witness main characters as blue-eyed Wights. Not after Viserion.

“The fear is that I would be turned into one of those undead. That would suck. You know some of the main characters are going to get turned. There are going to be some blue-eyed main characters running around. And, god, I hope it’s not me. That’s three hours of make-up in the morning. I know that if David Benioff and Dan Weiss read this, they’ll go, “Oh, yes we will.”

We wonder which characters would be seen fighting as part of the army of the undead. We have Thoros of Myr who was killed on Jon Snow’s suicide mission beyond the Wall. Benjen Stark could be dead too, thanks to Jon Snow. Considering the army of the dead is through the Wall now, Tormund could be dead too. He’d look absolutely menacing as a Wight. So would Hodor.

Let’s take a stock of characters who could die beyond the Wall in the next season:

Jorah Mormount – The friend-zoned lover, the man with a broken heart, ever so loyal to the woman he loves, Jorah is the perfect choice for a heartbreaking death.

The Hound – He has had too long a run and without a fight too. We have a feeling he’ll go down fighting till his last breath and come back as a Wight. When he left for King’s Landing and Tormund bids him farewell, his response is ‘Fuckin no.” Ominous much?

One of the Stark sisters – Theories about the death of one of the Stark sisters Arya and Sansa have been abound. As a faceless assassin, Arya would be deadly as a Wight if the White Walkers actually manage to kill her.

Jaime Lannister – Who knows Jaime himself might be destined for a life beyond the Wall. Now that he is estranged from his sister and has left his home for good, he could end up dead on the other side, or undead as you’d call it.

Think about the most epic film that you have ever seen. By ‘epic’ we don’t mean the word that you use to describe everything and anything that is ‘extremely good’. We mean epic, in its truest and most original form.

Stories with historical significance, enormous budget, mind-blowing effects, overwhelming sets and costumes—just some of the terms that truly define an ‘epic’ film.

Though defining a film as epic is subjective, there are certain films that have created extremely high standards for the world of cinema and can be deemed worthy of all the awards. We bring to you 12 of the best Hollywood epics that are definitely worth your time.

1. The Last Emperor

This one takes us through the life of the Last Emperor of China, Pu-Yi, in flashbacks.  He was three years old when he first sat down on the Dragon Throne. After being captured by the Red Army as a war criminal in 1950, Pu-Yi recalls his childhood from prison. He remembers his luxurious lifestyle during his youth but in the end, the world as he knew became lop-sided and he is left to live as just another peasant worker in the People’s Republic. This is truly a larger than life film.

2. The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-2003)

The trilogy includes three action fantasy epic films. The story of the three films is set in Middle-earth, a fictional world and follows the young Hobbit Frodo Baggins as he and the Fellowship embark on a journey to destroy the One Ring, one of the most powerful artifacts ever created and save Middle Earth from the Dark Lord Sauron. The films have been critically acclaimed and won 17 out of 30 total Academy Award nominations.

3. Troy

Starring Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom among others, Troy portrays the battle between the ancient kingdoms of Troy and Sparta. While visiting Sparta, Trojan prince Paris falls for King Menelaus’ wife, Helen and takes her back to Troy. Menelaus’ brother, King Agamemnon uses his brother’s fury as a pretext to declare war against Troy.

4. Cleopatra

The drama follows the eighteen tumultuous years that led to the founding of the Roman Empire. Cleopatra, the queen of Egypt, pretends to be in love with two influential men to save the Egyptian empire from destruction.

Fun fact: This film, which captures the one of the most famous and gloriously powerful love triangles, almost bankrupted 20th Century-Fox.

5. Spartacus

Directed by Stanley Kubrick, the story revolves around the rebellious Thracian Spartacus, who is born and raised a slave, is sold to Gladiator trainer Batiatus. After being trained to kill for the arena, Spartacus turns on his owners and leads a violent revolt against the decadent Roman Republic, with the other slaves. This thrilling adventure roars with excitement.

6. Braveheart

Braveheart tells the story of a Scottish hero named William Wallace. When he was a young boy, Wallace’s father and brother were killed trying to free Scotland. But when he loses his lady love, Wallace begins his long quest to make Scotland free once and for all by rallying a group of amateur Scottish warriors against the English monarch and Edward I. This multiple Oscar winner is a cinematic master-piece.

7. 300

A state of war exists between Persia and Greece in 480 B.C. At the Battle of Thermopylae, Leonidas (Gerard Butler), king of the Greek city state of Sparta decides to send its finest warriors against the massive Persian army. The battle which is a suicide mission is meant to be a sacrifice that can manage to inspire all of Greece to unite against their common enemy. This visually stunning movie will take your breath away!

The trailer of ‘Judwaa 2′ has already set the ball rolling for every Salman fan who is dripping with nostalgia. Varun Dhawan does a pretty good job but we surely miss the beauties from the original movie.

The new song from the movie just dropped today and we have many feels. ‘Oonchi Hai Building 2.0′ is sassy, cool, and peppy. It’s definitely already on the playlist of everyone who is a 90s fan.

The video is very similar to the previous one but I have to admit, the chemistry between Salman and Karisma is hard to beat.

But I am not discounting the fact that the new one is good as well. The only weird part is this one line where she is singing ‘mere swagger wale raja’, but I guess these days, in order to make a song ready for the millennials, music producers often add beats and weird words to make it work.

It’s fun to hear Anu Malik croon again after a very long time. The song also brings back memories of all the times we danced to this crazy number back in the day. The new one is meant for the night club and long drives, though I am betting on it being the new ‘cool’ couple song for weddings as well. “Oonchi hai building has in a way transcended time and has a huge universal appeal and I’m extremely humbled by the way it has been received. The new song has retained the energy and spirit, while the new cast has given it their all for this song as I feel they wanted to live up to the expectation of the original chartbuster. The choice again to retain this song is an ode to the spirit of Judwaa, we hope the people will accept this with all its youthfulness intact and probably 20 years from now this version does what the previous is still doing”, says David Dhawan, the director of the movie.

The movie is all set to release on September 29.

‘Singh is Kinng’ opened a new outlet for comedy movies. Full of Punjabi people, with a little bit of romance, a beautiful woman, and of course, a handsome Singh—Akshay Kumar.

Then came ‘Singh Is Bling’, which was a dud at the box office but still managed to make Akshay Kumar fans go crazy. The title of the movie was extremely catchy and even today, all the Singhs love using it for themselves. However, not many people know that the title of the big hit was actually gifted to Akshay Kumar by fellow producer Shailendra Singh. Akshay then gave it to Vipul Shah, and that is how the idea of converting into a full movie was conceived.

Shailendra Singh now wants to make his own version of the series and is very keen on signing Ranveer Singh for the lead role. This Singh is apt, he is entertaining and has all the sass required to carry the movie on his shoulders.

But with great plans, come greater problems. In an interview, Shailendra explained the glitch that is stopping his plan to make the movie. “I created the franchise – the concept of the movie and the title was owned by me. I gifted it to Akshay, who, in turn, gave it to Vipul Shah. They have even thanked me for the title in the credit roll. I have been begging Vipul to return it to me, but he hasn’t relented. Yesterday, I sent him a text saying, ‘It’s been more than nine years and it’s obvious that you are not making Singh Is Kinng 2. So why not give the title back gracefully? Be a gentleman!” he explained in an interview. However, he has submitted a new title for the movie and he claims it’s better than ‘Singh Is Kinng’. His priority is to get Ranveer on board because he feels that Singh is a “lethal combination of Salman Khan and Johnny Depp.”

Ranveer is currently wrapping up ‘Padmvati’ with Deepika Padukone, and Shailendra Singh is busy with ‘Namastey Canada’ with Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor.

Christian Bale is one of the most dedicated actors out there. He is quite well-known for going to great lengths to transform himself for his movie roles.

To play the role of drug-addict Dicky Eklund in ‘The Fighter’ he shed the pounds big time, but that was nothing compared to the lengths he went to while preparing for 2003’s ‘The Machinist’.

His famous skeletal frame for that movie was achieved through a diet of “water, an apple and one cup of coffee per day, with the occasional whiskey.” Apparently after losing about 30kgs, he wanted to go even further, but producers had to stop him because he could have died.

And, then 6 months after that, he was playing the lead role in ‘Batman Begins’ for which he had to bulk up big time. With a high-protein diet and regime involving heavy-core, plyometrics and resistance training, he packed on a whopping 45kgs, only for Christopher Nolan to turn around and tell him to lose about 10 because he’d got a bit too fat.

Now, he has gone and done it again. Christian Bale debuted a plumper look over the weekend at the Telluride Film Festival, where he premiered his upcoming movie ‘Hostiles’.

He looks unrecognizable now as he prepares to portray former US Vice President Dick Cheney in an up-coming bio pic. He has even dyed his eyebrows blond to emulate the politician.

The biopic is called ‘Backseat’, and will focus on how Cheney’s politics “changed the world.” It also stars Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney, Sam Rockwell as former President George W. Bush, Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld and Bill Pullman as Nelson Rockefeller.

Seems like quite a complicated role, but if there’s anyone who can pull it off and make the film memorable, it’s Christian.

After Ganpati Visarjan, while everyone else went back home to continue with their chores, actor Randeep Hooda turned a Good Samaritan and decided to do his bit to keep the environment clean. Instances of celebrities supporting the cleanliness drive and PM Modi’s Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan is nothing new, yet it is their selfless deeds that win our hearts every time. Wearing saffron coloured turban, black T-shirt and blue jeans; ‘Highway’ actor Randeep Hooda joined hands with an NGO, run by Afroz Shah, to clear the garbage from Mumbai’s Versova beach.

According to sources, the actor got inspired by his learning Sikhism. “This seva is his learning from Sikhism that he has been following closely since a year. He was saying seva is something all religions need to adopt,” the source said. The actor further expressed his gratitude on Twitter, thanking Afroz for showing him the way to do something for the planet, country and future. He wrote “Thank you Afroz Shah for showing us the way to actually be able to do something for our planet, our country, our future #VersovaBeach #Respect.”

However, Hooda isn’t the only one in the bandwagon of environmental crusaders. Last month, actor Amitabh Bachchan participated in a cleanliness drive along with Shah at the Versova beach.

Hooda is currently gearing up for his upcoming movie ‘Battle of Saragarhi’ which talks about the battle that took place in 1897 between the British Indian Army and Afghan Orakzhai tribesmen. The movie is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and Randeep will play the role of Havildar Ishar Singh of the Sikh regiment who fought the battle. We need more people like Randeep Hooda who actively work towards the betterment of the society, instead of sitting in their homes and complaining about the degrading environment.

Christian Bale is back and like a good penny this time with his new western release, ‘Hostiles’, which just came out on the 2nd of this month. ‘Hostiles’, a sorrowful and action packed Western is set amidst beauty, revenge and tears. The film highlights the Native American resistance in the 1890’s.

New Christian Bale Movie 'Hostiles' Is Out.© Geek Tyrant

This Scott Cooper drama resolves around a respectful army general (Christian Bale) who is tasked with escorting a Native American chief across hostile territory, post his civil war years. Rosamund Pike who plays Rosalee Quaid is settler who loses her family to Comanche renegades. They murder her husband and shoot her daughters and her infant son and the movie grows from there when Rosalee carries her lifeless children in her arms for days. That’s the grim and gripping reality of Cooper’s underpinnings of the Western genre. The characters fall through beautifully and connect on increasingly bold strokes of compassion and resentment all put together. The group of men along with Bale, escorting the American Native chief, finally come to where Pike’s house was burned down and find her tightly clutching the dead bodies of her children. That’s when Bale makes an executive decision to escort the helpless, shivering woman to safety.

The film eventually revolves around the group facing many challenges as they walk together in the wild-wild west, one of them being the engaging masculinity all the male characters display, where the men have to be men with heaving deep voices, silent eyes and wounded hearts.

The director however has tried to romanticise violence through a lot of blood and gore. The characters are shot, gutted and hanged at every given scene and they aren’t really given a chance to put up a good fight, throughout. Although, each character has a well defined role and the selection of actors for the film is justified, the film too beautiful unfolds along the Western land of opportunities and bad fate, presumably. The film beautifully introduces Bale’s character as a staunch patriot, who has nothing left to show for his patriotism from the past, except a bitter view of prevalent human condition in which mindlessly killing one another is the way of life.

New Christian Bale Movie 'Hostiles' Is Out© Youtube

The film is more suited for Western movie connoisseurs than for younger audiences as its more contemplative and serious and not really something that’ll keep you at the edge of your 400 rupee seat. Watch it for the thrill of the long lost west, in any case.

Check out the awesome trailer below:
