Irrfan Khan has been ill for a few days now. While everyone kept wondering what is wrong with his health so much so that he is on bad health rumours had started flowing that Irrfan is suffering from a Brain tumour or a cancer disease.
However, a few days back on March 5 Irrfan had posted on his Twitter account to not trust the rumours as he will on his own let people know what has happened to his health once it is diagnosed. And finally, the actor brings out his statement on social media.
In a statement on Twitter on Friday, Irrfan Khan said that he has been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour and will be travelling abroad for his treatment. For Irrfan, it has been considerably “difficult” to accept the disease as he has requested the press to refrain from speculating further. Referring to rumours that were circulated soon after the news of his ill health spread, Irrfan, 51, expounded that “NEURO is not always about the brain” and adequate research must be conducted to gain knowledge of it.
Neuroendocrine tumours are described as rare and can occur anywhere in the body. Most neuroendocrine tumours occur in the lungs, appendix, small intestine, rectum and pancreas. They can be non-cancerous or malignant.
With a quote from author Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With The Wind, Irrfan began his statement as he thanked fans for their love and support that has made him hopeful.

Earlier in March, Irrfan left his fans restless as wrote on Twitter that he has been diagnosed with a “rare disease.” His condition has kept him away from the promotions of his upcoming film Blackmail, and even filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj has postponed the shoot of his next project with Deepika Padukone and him.
This was what Irrfan tweeted one week ago:

At the launch event of a new song, titled Badla, from Blackmail on Friday, director Abhinay Deo said he met Irrfan and that he is “fine and in good spirits.”
Irrfan Khan is the star of films Life in a… Metro, The Namesake, Slumdog Millionaire, Piku, Talvar, Inferno, Madaari and Hindi Medium. He was last seen in Qarib Qarib Singlle.
Meanwhile, Irrfan Khan has told Blackmail producers to refrain from postponing the film. Blackmail will release on April 6 as scheduled.
