It’s A revenge drama that centers on the relationship between a father and daughter.

We have Hydari, who plays the angelic Bhoomi. She’s a wedding planner in Agra who’s about to get married to her sweetheart, a doctor (Sidhant Gupta).

But the villain in the utopian tableau is a young man from her neighbourhood who proposes to Bhoomi, but is rejected. The spurned lover decides to teach her a lesson and subjects her to a sexual assault, along with his brutish cousin, Dhauli, played well by Sharad Kelkar.

Keerti Kelkar who plays Simar on COLORS’ Sasural Simar Ka said, “Ganesh Chaturthi is one of my favorite festivals and this time we are getting an eco-friendly Ganpati idol. Every year during the festival, we do Ganesh puja and aarti with our close friends and family. Usually I prefer doing the decorations by myself but since I have a hectic work schedule, it might be difficult this year. I am looking forward to welcoming ‘bappa’ at home and celebrating the occasion with my family and friends.

Swarda Thigale who plays Dr Saanchi on COLORS’ Savitri Devi College and hospital said, “I was hoping to visit my native place, Pune, for Ganesh Chaturthi. However, this year I won’t be able to do so due to my hectic work schedule and I will celebrate the occasion with a Ganesh Staphna at my home in Mumbai along with family and close friends.”

Prachi Shah who plays Sharda on COLORS’ Ek Shringaar. Swabhimaan said, “This year I will be performing at the prestigious festival of Chakradhar Mahotsav on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. It is my way of offering my prayers to Lord Ganesha by dedicating my classical dance performance to him.”

Shilpa Shirodkar who plays Jaya on COLORS’ Savitri Devi College and hospital said, “Every year during Ganesh Utsav, I eagerly await welcoming ‘ganpati bappa’ home. For me it is about taking care of him, pampering him with delicious food and decorating the house with lights and flowers. Moreover, it is about the ‘aartis’ that I love singing to the Lord and this is a feeling that I cannot express in words.”

Saurabh Raj Jain who plays Mahadev on COLORS’ Mahakaali said, “This will be the second consecutive year that we will be welcoming ‘ganpati bappa’ home and I am really looking forward to celebrating the occasion with close friends and family.”

'Bhoomi' Trailer: Sanjay Dutt Gives His Most Intense & Emotional Performance So Far

Sanjay Dutt is finally making a comeback after a hiatus of 3 years (he was last seen in Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’), so our excitement and expectations have been at a pinnacle since the day it was announced that he would be a part of the film, ‘Bhoomi’. Today, the trailer of that much-awaited movie has just been released and Sanju Baba plays a fierce and unforgiving possessive father who can’t stand his daughter being harmed by anyone. The trailer of Omung Kumar’s directorial venture is brilliant, with the ruggedness, thrill, emotions and vindictiveness kept intact in each frame. In fact, some of the dialogue is incredibly arresting.

This heart-wrenching trailer intrigues our senses while compelling one to question the attitude that men and society have towards women. The movie touches base with the life of Arun (Sanjay Dutt), his selfless love for his daughter, ‘Bhoomi’ played by Aditi Rao Hydari and the extreme steps he takes in order to protect her dignity and life. How a happy family is torn apart and left to suffer and fight against some miscreants and the society weaves the rest of the plot. Check out the trailer here.

Apparently, Sanjay Dutt chose this date to release the trailer because it coincides with his daughter, Trishala’s, birthday. He might be involved in a lot of controversy and criminal cases personally, but professionally, he has evolved into a great actor and this seems to be one of his most intense and emotional performances so far. The movie slated to be released on September 22 and will see Shekhar Suman and TV actor Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles as well.
