Aditi Rao Hydari expressed her gratitude for the support she receives from Bollywood artistes today because she had no backing in the industry when she made her debut. Hydari said, “I have no backing in the film industry. It is thrilling to be supported by people you love and respect. I just choose to continue doing the things (I believe in), and I ensure I don’t hurt anyone. If anyone wants to screw me over, it’s their problem.”

The actress, who has got rave reviews for her role in the hit film ‘Padmaavat’, spoke about her career in Vogue India’s May 2018 issue. The cover image of the issue has been shot on the OnePlus 6, which is said to be the first ever Indian magazine cover shot on a smartphone.

For Hydari, it is all about the arts. “I love painting, music, colour and dance. Acting is an amalgamation of all art forms… You can be anybody or anything. It’s safe and secure, it’s comfort.”

Sadly, Aditi Rao Hydari features in barely four scenes in Padmaavat

Aditi Rao Hydarifeatures in barely four scenes in Padmaavat. For a long time, the actor had been talking about bagging a role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s film. She plays Allaudin Khilji’s (Ranveer Singh) wife Mehrunissa. The filmmaker had taken her on board on the recommendation of Jaya Bachchan who reportedly feels Aditi’s eyes are “deep, sad and expressive.” Sadly, she did not have much to do with Khilji roaring, much to the audience’s delight.

Disturbed by the Padmavati controversy, Aditi Rao Hydari has questioned why people don’t express as much anger as they do for films when women are harassed in India. The actor says though she loves her country, she fails to understand people’s mindset. Hydari took to Twitter to express her disappointment.

“Why aren’t people as angry and demanding [of] change when women are raped, violated, sold, beaten, pimped or killed in the womb. I don’t get it. I love my country, but I don’t understand it anymore,” she said. The point is worthy of attention.

Sanjay Dutt is finally making a comeback after a hiatus of 3 years (he was last seen in Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’), so our excitement and expectations have been at a pinnacle since the day it was announced that he would be a part of the film, ‘Bhoomi’. Today, the trailer of that much-awaited movie has just been released and Sanju Baba plays a fierce and unforgiving possessive father who can’t stand his daughter being harmed by anyone.  The trailer of Omung Kumar’s directorial venture is brilliant, with the ruggedness, thrill, emotions and vindictiveness kept intact in each frame. In fact, some of the dialogue is incredibly arresting.

This heart-wrenching trailer intrigues our senses while compelling one to question the attitude that men and society have towards women. The movie touches base with the life of Arun (Sanjay Dutt), his selfless love for his daughter, ‘Bhoomi’ played by Aditi Rao Hydari and the extreme steps he takes in order to protect her dignity and life. How a happy family is torn apart and left to suffer and fight against some miscreants and the society weaves the rest of the plot. Check out the trailer here.

Apparently, Sanjay Dutt chose this date to release the trailer because it coincides with his daughter, Trishala’s, birthday. He might be involved in a lot of controversy and criminal cases personally, but professionally, he has evolved into a great actor and this seems to be one of his most intense and emotional performances so far.  The movie slated to be released on September 22 and will see Shekhar Suman and TV actor Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles as well.
