salman-khan-arijit-singhTwo years after singer Arijit Singh hinted that owing to a discord with Salman Khan, the superstar got his version of “Jag Ghommeya” dropped from Sultan, to replace it with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s voice, there are reports that the actor has got the numero uno playback singer’s track replaced one more time from upcoming film, Welcome To New York.

Arijit, in a Facebook post in May 2016, revealed he had rubbed Salman the wrong way with his behaviour at an awards show, where the star was also present. The singer also apologised in the long post and requested Salman to “not remove the song that I sang for you in sultan. You want anyone else to sing this song, absolutely fine but keep a version at least. I have sung enough songs sir. But I want to retire with at least one song of you keeping in my library. Please do not take away this feeling.”

Salman, on his part, replied that the decision to use the track depended on the director and the producer of Sultan and people should not make a big deal out of the fact that it was Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, whose version was being used in the film’s final cut and not Arijit’s.

Today, fresh reports have emerged suggesting that in Sonakshi Sinha-Diljit Dosanjh starrer Welcome to New York, which has a special appearance of Salman in a song, Arijit’s voice has been dropped, with the reason being the Tiger Zinda Hai actor’s long-standing issue with the singer.

The film’s team is yet to give any official response on the rumour, but a source close to the movie refuted the report, while sharing with indianexpress.com, “Salman sir hasn’t interfered with the project at all.”

Also starring Karan Johar and Riteish Deshmukh, Welcome to New York will arrive in theatres on February 23.

Salman Khan‘s Pari from Bigg Boss is Bollywood-bound. Telly actor Shrashti Maheshwari, who’d turn up on the set of the reality show along with the now-famous Jallad (Chintan Gangar), is set to make her debut with Shaadi Teri Bajayenge Hum Band.

The actor, who featured in season seven (2013) of the controversial reality show, went missing after the season. Keen on making a mark in Bollywood, Maheshwari departed to make time for auditions instead. Eventually, she bagged Gurpreet Sondh’s directorial venture, which releases next month. The film also stars Mastram (2014) actor Rahul Bagga and Rajpal Yadav. “It is a romcom. We shot for it in Delhi,” she says.

In 2013, she along with Jallad, assisted Khan during the episodes he’d host over the weekend. She’d appeared for a segment called Sanduk Ka Vaar, where the star would pull out specific props from a box to chide the housemates.

While Jallad became a recurrent face in the seasons that followed, Pari went missing. But Maheshwari is glad that Khan kept her alive with his references. “It was kind of Salman sir to repeatedly remember me. He would often say, ‘Pari kidhar hai, kidhar hai Pari?’ I am grateful to him that he kept reminding the audience about my character.”

Working with Khan on the show, she says, was a “blast”. “He would crack jokes with the unit. There was never a dull moment with him. We would be in splits whenever he was around.”

Five years after her stint on Bigg Boss, Maheshwari remembers the show with fondness. “Bigg Boss was my first assignment. Although I had a small appearance, sharing the stage with Salman sir was an experience I cherished. Few can say that they made their acting debut with him. I left my hometown, Bareilly, to pursue my dream of acting. Now I hope to reach new heights,” says Maheshwari.

The actor has TV shows like Big Fame Star (2013), Do Dil Bandhey Ek Dori Se (2013), The Buddy Project and Thapki Pyaar Ki (2015), among others, to her credit. A foray into Bollywood doesn’t imply that she intends on leaving her career in television behind her. “I hope to strike a balance between the two,” she signs off.

Salman Khan is ‘Dabangg’ even in his real life and is continuing to shoot for Race 3 despite getting death threats

salman buff white

Salman Khan is ‘Dabangg’ even in his real life. Salman Khan was in the news recently for receiving death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror the ‘Bhai Of Bollywood’ refused to lay low following death threats from members of a Rajasthani community, will shoot for the title song of his upcoming film amidst tight security.

Previously cops had unexpectedly dropped in on the sets of Salman Khan’s Race 3 in Film City and told both him and producer Ramesh Taurani that the shoot would have to be stopped immediately following threats from the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi with regard to the black buck case. Though he returned home that day in a car with the cops, the actor refused to lie low and insisted on shooting amidst tight security. After wrapping up a steamy dance number with Jacqueline Fernandez who is paired opposite him in the third instalment of the thriller franchise, Salman kicks off the five-day shoot for the title track today, with Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem and Freddy Daruwala, at a city studio. Of course, security has been beefed up.

According to a source close to the development, the actor had been rehearsing with his co-stars and director-choreographer Remo D’souza in between scenes last week despite having little time to spare what with the Bigg Boss finale and other commitments.

“The song shoot is on schedule. Like the two previous title tracks, this one too will be mounted on a grand scale. A special set has been designed for the song. Next month the unit moves to Bangkok and then on to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. They are expected to finish by March with the last of the film being wrapped up in Mumbai, ” the source informed. Producer Ramesh Taurani confirmed the news.
