Dabangg’s Chulbul Pandey will now become a ‘Game’ Character

The famous Salman Khan Character ‘Chulbul Pandey‘ from the movie Dabangg and Dabangg 2 will now turn into Game Character. Gamers across the country can play Chulbul Pandey and fight crime through two games on the mobile platform and on the DTH (direct-to-home) network.

The first game is called ‘Shoot Out‘ which is available on mobile and for DTH subscribers. The second game is called ‘Fight Master’ which will only be available on Mobiles The mobile games are available across all telecom operators. The very excited actor and director Arbaaz Khan said “Chulbul Pandey is a character my audience has started relating to. The creatives of the games are as real as the Pandeyjee in the film. The games will help the audience play Pandeyjee and fight crime their way or follow the Dabangg way of Salman Khan. This a good way to keep the hysteria high among our fans.”

Mumbai: Salman Khan has been delivering back-to-back hits in the Hindi film industry. He says after the failure of his 2010 film ‘Veer’, he makes sure the final cut of any of his films has his approval.

He feels an actor’s involvement in creative processes helps sometimes.

“When I put my foot down sometimes, I hope I am not taking advantage of my stardom and that’s a big guilt. Eventually, what the audience first watches is only me in the poster, so I will be held responsible for everything,” Salman said in an interaction.

“So we also have to see that in just being polite, the film doesn’t go for a toss. Aamir (Khan) does it very correctly. Now I have started making it clear right in the beginning. I make sure that the final cut goes with my approval. After ‘Veer’, I have started doing this,” he said.

Salman, who wrote the story for ‘Veer’, admits he wasn’t satisfied with the final product that the film turned out to be.

“I was not happy with ‘Veer’ when they showed me the film. I cut down the film to one hour and 55 minutes, and eventually they released the film as a two hour and 30 minute-film, which is not a done thing. They thought they will get away with that, but they didn’t and I was very upset with the fact because I wrote its script and I knew if it has to be that long, then I need those 18 days of shoot because I needed the high points.”

“The scale of the film was very big. So one hour and 55 minutes was a perfect length for it. Till the time it is interesting, it is fine, but the film has to hold (the audience),” he added.

Kick to boast of vintage and new Salman

‘Kick’ is in news and with Salman Khan too announcing that it would be the second film he would begin working once he is through shooting for the Sohail Khan affair, there is a definite sense of urgency amongst the makers to get the groundwork in place in quick time.

For starters, the film’s screenplay is being tightened in a big way so that the Hindi version turns out to be much more universally appealing when compared to the Telugu original.

This isn’t all as Salman is in constant know how of the film’s progress and is giving more than just a glace or two to the material which is being put together.

“For someone like Salman who has given four back to back 100 crore superhits and is all set for another with ‘Dabangg 2’ before ‘Kick’ goes on floor, everything needs to be accounted for in a major way before a single word is put on paper for his next”, says an insider close to Sajid Nadiadwala who is producing as well as directing the film.

While Chetan Bhagat is re-writing the film’s screenplay, Sajid is making sure that technically too the film is top notch and the locations that come on screen are not just lavish but also un-seen.

As for the action sequences, they are expected to be trend setter and notches above the kind seen in ‘Dhoom’ series or for that matter Salman’s own ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.

Says a source, “Still, everyone is making sure that while audience get to see the Salman that they love, they make something fresh as well. They have seen Salman do things but then they also want freshness. That’s the kind of ‘kick’ they need. Pun intended!”

The Delhi Police personnel, who have been appreciated for their bravery and meritorious services, will now get a chance of a lifetime to watch Dabangg 2 with none other than Salman Khan before the film’s release on Dec 21.

Sources say that Salman Khan, who will arrive in Delhi on Dec 18, will not only pay his tribute to police martyrs, but also will meet the relatives of the five policemen who died during the Dec 13, 2001, parliament attack.

Readers may recall that, earlier too, a special screening of Rowdy Rathore was held for Delhi Police’s SWAT (Special Weapon and Techniques) team with Akshay Kumar.

The actress underwent surgery in the US on Monday for ovarian cancer.

Salman is keeping in touch with her folks and has offered assistance to her. Meanwhile Govinda and his wife Sunita are also in touch with her family and were with her till Manisha left for the US.

“On Dec 27, I am not doing anything. I am not very sure what I am doing that day. On my birthday, I myself might be in court,” Salman told IANS.

Salman, who has been summoned by a Jodhpur court to appear before it in February in connection with a 1998 poaching case, says he might have a date with the Mumbai court regarding the hit-and-run case.

“I think they have asked me to come on Dec 27, but if the lawyers say I don’t need to go, then I won’t go and if the lawyers say, I have to then I will definitely go,” he said.

While many A-list actors including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan celebrate their birthdays in the presence of the media, Salman says it is something he will never do.

“It will never happen. Woh fraudgiri mujhse nahi hogi (I can’t do that fraud with anyone). I can’t do that and I am telling this very frankly – When the media is standing outside my house, with OB vans and all, my mother will make sure that their party happens outside.

“Not for any other reason, but if the media is there in the party, then the guests get very uncomfortable. SO nobody will be able to have a good time and within five minutes, everybody would want to leave,” he said.

Salman Khan – the B-town goldmine is an unstoppable phenomenon. The most ‘Wanted’ star is said to have the Midas touch.. Many say he is Midas – whatever touches him turns gold. The year 2012 may blow the trumpet for Hindi cinema’s potential biggest blockbuster ‘Dabangg 2’. Will it break the record of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’? Will it surpass ‘3 Idiots’ and reach the 300 crore mark? The actor who gave series of disasters in 2008 with ‘Yuvvraaj’, ‘Heroes’, ‘God Tussi Great Ho’ is today the Messiah of the industry. His commitment towards his looks, physique, love, affection for his family has got admires beyond kids and teenagers. Today everyone from college going son to his mother, father and sister want to watch Dabangg 2 that’s the impact he had had on people and he has maintained what he is in front of all.”

When asked Arbaaz Khan on what he feels regarding the expectations on Dabangg 2 where he debuts as a director, Arbaaz shares, “I can’t say how will the public react. As far as the film is concerned ‘Dabangg2’ falls in the category of ‘Rocky’, ‘Rambo’, ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’. We have maintained the temperament of ‘Dabangg’ in this sequel which starts from where the previous ended. On the sets I was the director and Salman was the actor. That’s all no starry vibes. I dreamt of being a director for many years. I assisted Mahesh Bhatt during the late 80s and early 90s. Now my debut film has become the talk of the town. I had responsibilities before ‘Dabangg 2’ and will have after its release also whatever be the faith.”

The industry trade pundits are upbeat and are expecting a mammoth huge opener for Salman starrer ‘Dabangg 2’. Veteran trade expert and editor of Entertainment Trade N.P. Yadav says, “Dabangg 2 has an open week. Salman’s power at box office has been tremendous since ‘Wanted’ he is undoubtedly the most bankable star in Hindi cinema. Dabangg 2 is expected to break the records of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and can even surpass ‘3 Idiots’ and set a benchmark.”

According to N.P. Yadav Salman has mastered his stardom and cashed in on his popularity very smartly with the help of Reshma Shetty who has made him realize the importance of promotion, media, publicity and released his films on holidays like EId and this time Christmas also. Salman was always a darling of the masses. Since his entry he has delivered, set and broke records with trendsetters like ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ or ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!’ Salman is the only evergreen popular star of Indian cinema today and the most bankable on Indian box office. But it’s SRK who has enjoyed maximum stardom the most since 1993 with ‘Baazigar’. He still remains undisputed in overseas with his latest JTHJ doing a business of whopping 70 crores in overseas alone.
