Jacqueline Fernandez has dived headlong into her next, ‘Judwaa 2’, which also stars Varun Dhawan and Taapsee Pannu.

Two hit songs from Salman Khan’s 1997 original, ‘Judwaa’, ‘Tan Tana Tan’ and ‘Oonchi Hai Building’, are being recreated. Jackky tells mid-day she rehearsed for 70 hours a week to get the steps right. She says that despite a gruelling schedule, she is having a lot of fun. “When you work on the remake of such an iconic film, getting tired is not an option. I think the rehearsals helped us get in the groove. I am sure the hard work will pay off.”

The ‘Kick’ actress adds that recreating the songs has been fun. “We are nervous, yet excited, as we want to do justice to the tracks. Varun is a far better dancer, but we get things right together.”

Choreographer Ganesh Acharya, who had worked on the original film, has been roped in for the remake. “He choreographed the songs back in the day and is calling the shots even today. We wanted to maintain the authenticity, yet add new steps to the tracks,” she says.

shahrukh-salman-251013Salman Khan’s latest Eid offering Tubelight failed to live up to the hype and the expectations post its release in the theatres. In fact, the movie couldn’t even cross the Rs 100 crore mark in the first five days, which is quite unlikely for a Salman Khan starrer, especially, when it’s released during the festivities of Eid.

But did you know that certain cinema halls abroad are trying to cash in on the name of Shah Rukh Khan to bring in the audience for the Salman Khan film? Yes, that’s what’s happening in Brussels, Belgium. A MidDay report suggests that when a Salman fan went to catch a show of his latest release Tubelight, he was in fir a shock on seeing that the theatre was referring to Tubelight as a Shah Rukh Khan starrer.

SRK only has a cameo in Tubelight and it’s well known that the protagonist of the film is Salman and not Shah Rukh. We do understand that even Salman’s star power couldn’t convince the audience to throng to the theatres but that doesn’t imply that one would pass off the film as a Shah Rukh starrer and fool the fans.

salman-khanAfter featuring together in Lucky: No Time For Love, Veer and Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya, the Khan brothers came together for the much-anticipated movie, Tubelight. Sohail Khan who doesn’t feature in too many Bollywood films was way more than happy when director Kabir Khan approached him for the role in his film.

Though the movie might not have opened to spectacular box office collection, the brothers are extremely satisfied with the film. There were also a few fans who wanted to see more of Salman and Sohail Khan together, in one frame than what was shown.

Talking about their screen-time in DNA, Sohail Khan revealed:

“There was a lot more, for sure. What we shot together, Salman bhai and I, or even what was narrated in the script. Later, Kabir decided to cut it down. Which is fine because the film was not made to celebrate Salman bhai’s brotherhood with me. So no complaints. I am very happy with the film and with the time Bhai and I shared in it.”

Salman Khan starrer Tubelight has collected a total of Rs 95 crore, a first for him, considering he makes Rs 100 crore during the opening weekend, especially when it’s Eid.

salmanSohail Khan and Salman Khan, who teamed up for their latest release Tubelight, are at the receiving end of critics bashing! The movie has been given low ratings by the critics.

Salman had recently gone on record to say that he only cared about the response of his fans and that critic ratings never bothered him much.

And now, brother Sohail, who played the role of Bharat Singh Bisht in the movie opened up about the same. He was quoted as saying, “Salman Bhai would be really worried if his fans and the people, who pay money to watch his film, were not happy. Because he really is concerned about the ticket-paying audience which must not feel let down at any cost. Of course, the critics have every right to feel whatever they think right. And Bhai accepts that without prejudice or suspicion. But, they should avoid personal comments and barbs aimed at an actor’s personal life. Please review the film, not Salman Bhai’s life.” (sic)

He further added, “It is what the public feels that bothers him. Salman Bhai is a responsible actor. Contrary to his image, he takes his duties towards his fans very seriously.” (sic)

When Karan Arjun shares screen space together, Bollywood buffs are bound to love it. After all, who doesn’t want to see the two favourite Khans bromancing each other?

Ever since these two biggies have joined hands again, fans just can’t get enough of them. It has been almost 15 years since we saw the two sharing screen space together. A lot has happened between the two—from sharing a strong bond to breaking up their ties, the duo has gone through a lot of conflicts. However, when the need arises, these two are there for each other, letting go of their past.

Recently, King Khan did a cameo in Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight’. SRK played a magician who plays a very vital part in developing Laxman (Salman). Salman Khan shared that when director Kabir Khan narrated the film, he just knew that Shah Rukh Khan had to play that role. It was just a call and without any discussion, SRK gave a heads-up for the role. Watching the two was indeed a treat and there is a possibility that they might reunite again on the silver screen very soon.

Well, if reports are to be believed, Salman Khan will be playing a cameo in Aanand L Rai’s next, where Shah Rukh will be seen playing a dwarf. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

Speaking to DNA, SRK said, “There is a guest appearance in Aanand’s film that I’d like Salman to consider. We are still working on it. But, I would like him to play the role.”

Now isn’t that really good news for bhai fans? It is believed that Salman might be playing himself in the film but Badshah is not ready to spill the beans yet and prefers to keep it a secret till the end. Definitely, this is just making us more curious. Well, keeping our fingers crossed!

salman-akshay-dabangg-tour3“Mashallah, Da Bang Tour was a huge hit. Sonakshi (Sinha), Salman (Khan) bhai, Bipasha (Basu Singh Grover) and Prabhudheva were all in their element. It was a fiery and compact show. The response and hysteria was unimaginable. Getting it to India was a natural progression,” says actor-filmmaker Sohail Khan, discussing his brother’s popular tour, which entertained the Indian diaspora in Hong Kong, Auckland and Melbourne, a couple of months ago. It is now set to come to India on a five-city voyage.

Sohail says the tour was special because people bagged the rare opportunity of watching the star perform live. “Except for at awards nights, bhai doesn’t perform live. He hasn’t connected with his fans on such a scale for 15 years. An entire generation has passed since then,” he adds.

Salman Khan and his team plan to travel across Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata. “Bhai has big movies slated for next year. We’ll also have to keep the schedule of performers in mind. Besides the five cities in India, we will travel to South Africa, US and UK next year. We should be able to cover the foreign locations in 10 days, followed by a fortnight in India. If all goes as planned, we should be able to wrap the tour by March 2017,” says Sohail Khan.

It had been reported that Shah Rukh will be seen playing a magician – Go-Go Pasha, who Salman’s character Laxman meets, at a crucial point in the story. In the series of images and videos doing the rounds, Shah Rukh looks like an Indian magician with a colourfully embroidered waistcoat, kohled eyes, harem pants and a tattoo on his face.

According to reports, many trade analysts predicted a boot in ‘Tubelight’ collections because of Shah Rukh Khan’s appearance. It remains to be seen how the team tackles this bump in the road.

‘Tubelight’ releases worldwide today, 23 June 2017.

salmansohailActor Sohail Khan, who will be seen with his superstar brother Salman Khan in the forthcoming movie “Tubelight”, says he never felt overshadowed by his sibling on screen.

In “Tubelight”, they are playing on screen brothers.

Asked if he had any pressure to match up his performance and screen presence with Salman, Sohail told IANS here: “No, I never felt overshadowed by (Salman) bhai, because in this film, he is not playing ‘The Salman Khan’. Maybe in audience’s mind, he is a hero, but he did not act that way.

“In fact, I believe that whether it is Salman Khan or even any character actor, you should not compete in a scene to get more eyeballs or feel insecure. The moment you try any of that, you spoil the scene. I, as an actor, only focus on my part. The rest automatically falls in place,” he added.

While the film is an emotional journey of two brothers, and the story is set in the 1960s, according to Sohail, director Kabir Khan has created a beautiful world that played an important part in helping them execute their performance.

“When we went to the set, we felt like we are standing in the 1960s’ era. For a performer, that is important. Kabir has an eye for detailing and the team of production and set designers also have done a great job. Since I am a film producer too, working with this kind of a good filmmaker makes me learn so much that later I utilise it in my productions,” Sohail said.

Having made his acting debut with the film “Maine Dil Tujhko Diya”, Sohail has produced films like “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya”, “Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?”, “Partner” and “Jai Ho”, apart from being a director.

Sohail has grown up in a film environment — his father is veteran scriptwriter Salim Khan, and most of his family members too are associated with the movie business.

Can he still watch a film like a common audience member since he is very much an insider in the process of filmmaking?

“Oh yes, absolutely. I always judge a film on its overall impact at the first place, because I see no point of scrutinising a film by some of its parts. What if the story is not good, but the cinematography is? What if the acting is good but the film does not create any impact or give the audience a ‘paisa vasool’ experience?

“What if the music is good but the scenes are bad? For me, a film is good, if it is overall good and give you (audience) a wholesome experience,” said Sohail.
“Tubelight” is releasing on Friday.

shahrukh-salman-251013Salman Khan reveals that it took him less than a phone call to convince Shah Rukh Khan for a cameo in his upcoming film ,Tubelight. He says that even before he could complete the sentence, Shah Rukh said ‘It’s done,’ cutting him in the middle.

Salman Khan says it took just a phone call to convince Shah Rukh Khan to do a special appearance in his film Tubelight. The Kabir Khan-directed movie, which hits the theatres on June 23, is set against the backdrop of the 1962 India-China war.

While Sohail Khan is in the role of a soldier, Salman plays his simpleton brother. The actor said the Shah Rukh didn’t even listen to the entire conversation before saying yes. “When Kabir narrated the subject to me, he said for this role we should get Shah Rukh. So, I called up Shah Rukh and told him, ‘In Tubelight, there’s this small’, and he cut me, saying, ‘It’s done’. He didn’t even let me complete the sentence. He just said ‘it’s done’,” Salman told reporters here.

The actor was speaking at a special event last night where they introduced child actor Matin Rey Tangu to the media. The five-year-old actor, who hails from Itanagar, plays an integral part in Tubelight. Salman said with Tubelight, Tangu will become as popular as Harshali Malhotra, his co-star in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The movie is an official adaptation of the 2015 American war drama Little Boy.

The movie was recently in the news as its play-time has been reduced by 19 minutes. The film was as long as any other Kabir Khan film but the CBFC decided to reduce its screen time, making it the shortest film of Salman Khan in recent times. Tubelight is set against the backdrop of 1962 Sino-Indian war and Chinese star, Zhu Zhu is also starring in the film.

‘Hate him or love him, you cannot ignore him’; that’s how I ‘d describe the aura called Salman Khan. You just have to acknowledge his presence courtesy his strong personality.

He is busy promoting his upcoming movie, ‘Tubelight’ which also stars his brother Sohail in the lead role. So obviously, while attending many events and amidst the million interviews that he has been giving, the ‘bhai’ of B-town was asked about his opinion about the movie critics that reside all over the place and the effect the movie ratings have on the nature of success of a film.

In one such interview with Huffington Post, he explained, “I genuinely, honestly don’t care. I believe that they’ve no right to take anybody’s hard work down. The fans will decide that, in any case. The box-office will prove it one way or the other. What have you done to earn the right to rip a film apart? On Day 1 of the release, you write some rubbish crap. It destroys films and a lot of hard work that went behind making it. With me, of course, it doesn’t make any difference. And I think they know it all too well. My films are critic-proof. I am telling them now: go give my film minus 100 stars, why just zero. My fans will anyway watch my film and that’s my reward”. He even vented out his feelings about the hit-and-run case that has been a part of his life. “For 20 years. 20 years is a long time, man. It’s a lot of years. It takes a toll on you and your family. The financial toll on our family because of the cases has been huge. When I was a nobody I had nothing. When I become somebody, I got the magistrate court. When I become slightly bigger, I got the High Court, then. And now when I am in this position, I have the Supreme Court.”
