With this, there is no looking back for Priyanka Chopra. The Bollywood actress is a world favourite now as her popularity has reached to every corner of the world.

Our very own Desi girl Priyanka has made her way to Forbes list of 100 most Powerful Women, 2017. Chopra has successfully bagged the 15th spot on the list of Most Powerful Women in Entertainment And Media, a list that also includes the popular names of Taylor swift, Beyonce and author J. K Rowling.

Priyanka Chopra takes the 97th spot on the list of 100 people. Beyonce bags the 50th position and Taylor is ranked at 85th position.

Earlier this year, Forbes had listed Bollywood’s Top 10 highest paid stars for both male and female, and Priyanka bagged the number 7 rank. Priyanka and actress Deepika Padukone had both made it to the list.

Even after garnering immense fan-following in the west, Priyanka sticks true to her desi girl mannerisms. She leaves no chance in showing everyone where she hails from. Recently in an interview she said, “Everything I am is because of where I grew up. I’m very desi. My achaar goes with me even over my shoes,” she revealed. “(The achaar in question is “mirchi green or red” for condiment connoisseurs to know.)”

While taking about sexual abuse in light of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, PeeCee said, “It’s not about sexuality. It’s not about sex. It’s about power. It’s an isolating feeling. The easiest thing to take away from a woman is her work.”

She added, “So what if I wear a dress? We’ve been told our femininity is our weakness, but it is not. We can be compassionate. We can be tough. When you open your mouth, you deliver.” She also said that there is not just a Harvey Weinstein in Hollywood, there are many everywhere. Now who was she referring to in Bollywood?

Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra, who is currently busy in shooting for the upcoming season of ‘Quantico’, has finally opened about shocking revelations of sexual harassment that has taken Hollywood by storm. While speaking at the 2017 Maire Claire Power Trip event, the 35-year-old actress addressed Harvey Weinstein’s fallout from his prestigious role in cinema by saying that ‘it’s not about sexuality, it’s all about power’.

The easiest thing to take away from a woman is her work.’ Adding, ‘The fact that we can be compassionate and, at the same time, tough are strengths only women have. The ‘Baywatch’ star also revealed the fear of failure still keeps her up at night and also gave a solution of getting over it. ‘I don’t repeat my mistakes. And that’s a way of getting over failure,’ noted the actress. Recently, the 35-year-old actress was honoured at the Variety’s Power of Women that took place at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons.

A. R. Rahman to celebrate 25 years in music by going on a four city tour

After marking his 25th year in the music industry with the August release, One Heart: The AR Rahman Concert Film — a compilation of his 14-city US tour — the musician is set to connect with his fans in India with a four-city show. The Academy Award-winner will take AR Rahman ‘Encore – The Concert’, to Hyderabad (November 26), Ahmedabad (December 3), Mumbai (December 17) and Delhi (December 23), marking his first solo gig in the country in five years.

Reflecting on his journey in the industry, Rahman tells mid-day, “Music serves as a spiritual bond between the audience and myself. I am excited about performing at home after such a long gap. These 25 years have been incredible. The almighty has been kind in giving me happiness that has multiplied year-after-year. From a husband and father, to a composer and mentor, I have embraced different roles, but music has been a constant.”

Given the massive fan-following that Rahman enjoys, the biggest stars of the industry are being considered for supporting acts, with a source close to the musician adding that the names of Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth and Priyanka Chopra are being tossed around. “The who’s who of the film fraternity will come together to celebrate the occasion. Several international technicians have also been hired for the tour,” the source says.

According to a list released by Forbes, Priyanka Chopra is the eighth highest paid TV actress for her show ‘Quantico’ and has earned $10 million between June 1, 2016 and June 1, 2017. Apparently, this is her second appearance on the list.

In fact, Forbes even calls her “most consistent money-maker” and her latest movies like ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Baywatch’ and their success, only goes on to cement the statement. If you are wondering who grabbed the first spot – it’s ‘Modern Family’ star Sofia Vergara and this is reportedly the 6th time in a row that she has been the highest pain actress on the list with $41.5 million. The second position was occupied by ‘The Big Bang Theory’ star Kaley Cuoco ($26 million) and the third position was shared by ‘Grey’s Anantomy’ star Ellen Pompeo and Mindy Kaling of ‘The Mindy Project’ fame with earnings at $13 million. Priyanka is only ahead of Robin Wright ($9 million) and Pauley Perrette ($8.5 million) in the list.

Apart from acting, Priyanka Chopra, who is also UNICEF’s Goodwill Embassador is known for her various social campaigns. Earlier this year, she visited Johannesburg and neighboring Zimbabwe where she spent some quality time dancing and playing with the kids as part of a campaign to help raise awareness about violence against children.

Priyanka Chopra is among the world’s 10 highest paid television actresses, all thanks to her ABC TV show Quantico. This will be Priyanka’s second year on the list and this time too she is the eighth highest paid TV actress. And if you are wondering how much she has earned between June 1, 2016 and June 1, 2017, the Forbes list says PeeCee earned $10 million. The magazine’s in-depth analysis also revealed that more than 50 per cent of Priyanka’s income comes from endorsements.

Colombian actress Sofia Vergara who stars in the hit sitcom Modern Family tops the list again. Also, this is the 6th year in a row that Sofia is the highest paid actress in the list. “Sofia Vergara banked $41.5 million before taxes and fees in the 12 months to June 1, some $15 million more than second-ranked Cuoco of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, who earned $26 million during the same period,” reads the Forbes report.

While Sofia had made $41.5 million last year, Priyanka Chopra’s earning was at $11 million. The report also revealed that the world’s 10 highest-paid TV actresses made a combined $156.5 million between June 1, 2016 and June 1, 2017. Ellen Pompeo of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and Mindy Kaling of Hulu’s The Mindy Project tie for the third place on the list with earnings of $13 million each.

Others in this list are Mariska Hargitay at No. 5 with earnings of $12.5 million, Julie Bowen at No. 6 with earnings $12 million, Kerry Washington on No 7 with earnings of $11 million, and House of Cards star Robin Wright on No. 9 with earnings of $9 million.

Priyanka disappointed about Newton selection over Ventilator for the Oscars

Rajkumar Rao’s recently released ‘Newton’ made headlines when the story broke about film’s selection as the official entry to Oscars 2018 from India. While this news is making everyone happy there is someone who is little disappointed with jury’s decision – Priyanka Chopra.

Priyanka and her mother Madhu Chopra’s Marathi production, ‘Ventilator’ was amongst the 26 entries competing in the race to the Oscars this year.

‘Ventilator’, directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, gained very good critical and commercial success. The film has won three awards at 64th National Film Awards. Priyanka was optimistic about the film to make it to Oscars 2018, but left with disoppinment as it got snubbed with the selection of Amit Masurkar’s another social drama, ‘Newton’.

Rajesh Mapuskar told DNA, “I told her not to worry, assuring her that only the best film would make it. We were a bit disappointed when we learnt about the verdict, the next day.”

He further added about Priyanka that, “I guess, Priyanka must be even more disappointed because she was always ambitious about the film. Had it been selected, she would have ensured that it was the most-talked-about film in the run to the Oscars, especially since she is already an established name there. Ventilator was always the favourite baby of their banner.”

The 90th Academy Awards ceremony will be held at Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles on 4 March 2018

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra’s name was mispronounced as ‘Chopa’ at Emmys 2017 held at Microsoft Theater on Sunday in Los Angeles, California. Twitterati was up in arms after the announcer’s goof-up!

Priyanka Chopra stepped out in a figure-hugging white custom-made Balmain mermaid creation at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards. Priyanka, who presented an award at the ceremony, made heads turn with her full-sleeves ensemble, which was adorned with crystals and had a feather skirt train.

With her hair neatly tied in a ponytail, her lips done up in deep berry red and dramatic eye make-up, the ‘Quantico’ star exuded a fierce and powerful demeanour at the red carpet of the gala.

Priyanka Chopra, however, had an embarrassing moment on stage when the Emmys announcer mispronounced her name as ‘Chopa’.

It’s been quite some time since we’ve seen Priyanka Chopra on the silver screen in B-town. Fans are eagerly waiting just to get a glimpse of her. She was last seen in Prakash Jha’s ‘Jai Gangaajaal’, and while the film didn’t do that well at the box office, her power-packed performance was loved by the audience.

There are many who are looking forward to just getting a glimpse of her, so here’s some good news. The actress has already agreed to two films that she will start shooting next year. But before she starts shooting, the actress is all set to don a new hat; that of a producer. Well, you heard us right, PeeCee is all set to produce her first Hindi film.

Looking at the speed she marking her territory with, we wonder if there is anything this woman can’t do? She has already loved the script and will be producing it under her banner, Purple Pebble Films.

While talking to a leading daily, a source revealed, “The film is about a few kids and stray dogs. On social media, we have all seen nasty videos of people attacking harmless stray dogs. PC, who has pets and is emotionally invested in animal welfare, was touched by this beautiful story. She hopes to bring a change in people’s attitude towards strays.”

“Priyanka wants a well-known, established top actress to do five-six scenes in the film for the necessary star power. She needs a big name for that, and someone who’ll do the film out of goodwill. She was crushed when she realised that none of the prominent actresses were willing to just do five-six scenes in a film; they want a proper full-fledged movie,” the source added.

In an interview, the desi girl revealed that she would want someone from B-town to be the face of the film. Like how it is done in the west, people work on smaller roles if the script is good, without charging a hefty amount. But that might be difficult in India so one can expect her to work on the film herself. Though we would definitely love Priyanka as a canine saviour! The film is yet to be announced.

When asked about her upcoming films, Priyanka said in an interview, “I’m sort of very close to two films that I definitely want to do which is going to be next year after Quantico, so not in a rush because it will be after March, next year.”

That’s Priyanka for you, doing everything she needs to. We truly can’t wait for her to produce her first film and stage her much-anticipated comeback in Bollywood.
