While Black was the colour that dominated the music awards so far this year, the 2018 edition of the Brit Awards that took place at The O2 Arena in London saw artists carry a white rose in a show of solidarity with the Times Up and #MeToo movements.  Among the high-profile women displaying the symbolic white flowers that stood for hope, peace, sympathy, and resistance, there were a few men that supported this cause and had a flower pinned. Here are five such male artists that pinned the white roses:

Choreographer-filmmaker, Farah Khan threw a lavish party at her duplex penthouse in the honour of international singer-composer Ed Sheeran, who was here in the city to woo the Mumbaikars with his magical voice. His concert was held on November 19, which was a star-studded affair, along with several fans gathered in the crowd cheering for him and sinking into his music.

At the party, Ed shook a leg to some of the Bhangra and Bollywood beats and humbly requested to not play his music. “He had specially requested that we play Bollywood and bhangra and NOT his music,” informed Khan. “Your music reminds us of the all-time great songwriters Carole King and James Taylor. Songs that will last over time and become anthems for their generation,” we said to him. “Thanks. That’s a big compliment,” he said with genuine delight at hearing such vintage names introduced in the assembled zeitgeist.

One of the songs he was seen dancing his heart out on was Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon’s song, ‘Sweety Tera Drama’ from ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’. The singer, comfortable in his crumpled shorts, shirt and sandals was grooving with Farah Khan, the hostess. He looked adorable in the dance video posted by the official Twitter handle of the film ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’.

Even #EdSheeran can’t resist shaking his kamariya on #SweetyTeraDrama. #EdSheeranIndia#EDSheeranMumbai#BareillyKiBarfi@ayushmannk@kritisanon@RajkummarRao@Ashwinyiyer@niteshtiwari22@tanishkbagchi@azeem2112@ZeeMusicCompany@junochopra@abhayrchopra@JungleePicturespic.twitter.com/pXV1YreJ38

Talking about his experience at the love and the party showered by B’town, the ‘Shape Of You’ hitmaker expressed his wish of working with Shah Rukh Khan. “I have seen Bollywood films such as ‘2 States’, heard some songs and seen some actors. I would love to do something in Bollywood… may be with Shah Rukh Khan. It will be something in their (Bollywood) style,” Sheeran told PTI.

The British pop artist performed at Jio Gardens in Bandra Kurla Complex on November 19 and left for Dubai. Before leaving Mumbai, Sheeran gorged on some chicken tikka and chhole bhature.

When Justin Bieber visited India in May, his endless list of requirements included a convoy of 10 luxury sedans, a yoga casket containing aromatic essential oils, a dressing room draped with white curtains and a Jacuzzi backstage, among many other things. In stark contrast, Ed Sheeran, who is set to enthral his fans in India as part of his Divide Album Asia Tour this Sunday, has a modest set of demands. The singer only expects Nando’s Hot Peri-Peri Sauce and dry fruits in his dressing room.

A source close to the organisers tells mid-day, “Ed Sheeran’s backstage requirements are more like a mix of after-school refreshments. He simply wants bottles of Robinsons fruit squash, passion fruit juice, milk, beer, a six-pack of fizzy drinks, a jar of Mānuka honey and a plate of assorted sliced fresh vegetable and fruits. He also wants a special peri peri sauce that is being sourced from Malaysia.”

The insider adds that the organisers are customising his backstage room keeping his interests in mind. “Since Ed is a cat and bicycle lover, the room will be done up in animal and automobile graffiti,” adds the source. Marking his second visit to India, the event will see Sheeran belting out hits like Shape Of You, Galway Girl, Photograph and Thinking Out Loud. “We can’t wait to deliver a stand-out experience to fans, making sure that India is recognised as being at par with the global entertainment destinations,” says Kunal Khambhati (Head, Live Events and IP, Bookmyshow). More than 10,000 fans are expected to attend the show.

The seventh season of the much-awaited and fought-after (you aren’t a true fan if you didn’t fight over the characters and story plot) series, ‘Game of Thrones’, premiered recently and since then people have officially lost their chill. The first episode has already been viewed millions of times and has divided the world into two parts – first who watched it before everyone and spoil the episode for others and second who beat the sh*t out of those who give away spoilers.

Within a few days of its release, this season has already done much more than just fuel suspense around the characters. It gave people a room to troll Ed Sheeran for his cameo, gave the fan theorists fodder for their next groundbreaking discovery and most importantly, it has given some smartasses on the internet to go ahead and do what they are best at – pirating it. Thanks to the advent of internet, nothing seems like too big a deal these days and we guess these folks abide by this, so they went ahead and pirated the premiere episode 90 f**king million times.

According to a report published in Torrent Freak, the piracy monitoring firm MUSO has suggested that the season premiere has been pirated 90 million times in just three days and the sources were majorly the unauthorized streaming services with torrent contributing a little bit to it. It’s not like this show or any other show’s piracy numbers have not touched millions earlier, but this number and that too within a few days is huge. We won’t be surprised if Hollywood goes into a state of shock after reading the numbers.

MUSO even notes that most pirated traffic comes from the United States (15 million approx), while countries like United Kingdom (6.2 million approx), Germany (4.8 million approx) and India (4.3 million approx) filled up the second, third and fourth spots in the list of piracy. We hope any college professor isn’t reading this, else they’ll know how the students are putting the hostel and college WiFi to good use.

Frankly, we’ve seen so many covers of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’, we didn’t think anymore were possible. There have been dance covers, table covers, biriyani covers! Even the IIT boys couldn’t help making a cover of their own! Then there were some that blew us away with their sizzling dance moves.

There were beautiful mashups that we bookmarked for romantic long drives..

Just when we thought the song was done and dusted as far as covers and mashups go, an acapella channel came up with this ‘molecular Shape Of You’ parody. This one, meant specifically for every science student is a nerdgasm in waiting!

A tribute to every geek out there, this is the perfect video to send to your crush in the chemistry lab. Only if chemistry practicals were like this!
