Abhishek Bachchan reveals how wife Aishwarya reacted to his 2-year sabbatical

Abhishek Bachchan had taken a two-year long sabbatical from movies and preferred choosing the right script rather than just signing any movie. The hiatus is finally over and Abhishek is bouncing back with Anurag Kashyap’s film, titled, Manmarziyaan, alongside Taapsee Pannu. In an interview with Film Companion, the actor reveals how his family supported him and wife Aishwarya was his strength.

In the interview, Abhishek Bachchan spoke about how his family reacted to his decision of a two-year break from movies. “I didn’t say I don’t want to be an actor anymore, I just said I need to change the kind of films I am doing. It took two years for me to get the right film that I perceived to be the right film… How was it on the family? I spoke to them, I told them and they were very supportive… They were okay with it. I think somewhere they were like ‘Okay, one year has gone by, what is this guy doing? I think that’s a parental instinct. My wife was fine because I walk my family through everything I do so they are on the same page.”

Further speaking of how wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan resumed work after baby Aaradhya was born, the caring husband said, “When she came back (to movies), she went through the same insecurities of ‘Am I gonna be able to do?’. ‘Am I gonna pick up where I left off?’ ‘I am gonna climb that mountain again?'”

He considers this leap the best thing, he ever did in his career. Junior Bachchan was last seen in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 3 (2016).

After Zameen and Bol Bachchan, will Abhishek Bachchan and Rohit Shetty reunite?

Abhishek Bachchan is known to be one of Rohit Shetty’s favourite actors. They have teamed up in Zameen (2003) and Bol Bachchan (2012). Sources say Rohit is keen that Junior B play a negative role in his upcoming film Simmba, which stars Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan.

It is a powerful parallel role. The last time Abhishek played a character with dark shades was in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan (2010). Simmba is a remake of the Telugu film, Temper (2015), and is co-produced by Karan Johar and Rohit. Sources add that KJo is also keen to have buddy Abhishek on board. Let’s wait for the announcement. Or not?

A source close to Bachchan family told an online portal, “Aishwarya felt Abhishek Bachchan’s career needed a small push to catapult him to the top bracket once again

Reportedly, her differences with Sohail Khan triggered this move. A report in Deccan Chronicle states that Shetty is now managing Abhishek Bachchan’s profile and wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchanis the mind behind this strategic move to revive hubby’s unstable career.

A source close to Bachchan family told Deccan Chronicle, “Aishwarya felt Abhishek Bachchan‘s career needed a small push to catapult him to the top bracket once again. Of late, he hasn’t signed new films and is choosing to focus on the best possible projects. Following his revamped priorities, his first new project will be Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s biopic on poet-lyricist, Sahir Ludhianvi. Reshma has been brought in to oversee Abhishek’s forthcoming career moves and to position him as a prominent entertainment brand.”

Rumour mills were abuzz that Khiladi Akshay Kumar has also signed Reshma Shetty to manage his work. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Akshay or his team.

Abhishek recently walked out of his debut film Refugee’s director, JP Dutta’s upcoming film ‘Paltan’. The director had to rope in one-film-old Harshvardhan Rane for the role.

Aaradhya Bachchan's 6th birthday will be celebrated in a low-key manner

In accordance with Amitabh Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai’s muted birthday celebrations this year, owing to the death of the latter’s father Krishnaraj Rai, daughter Aaradhya too will mark her special day with a low-key celebration. While the little girl, who turns six today, usually enjoys elaborate themed parties, a small get-together is in store this year. The celebrations will be held on Saturday to suit the calendars of the guests.

A source says, “It will not be a grand bash this time. An intimate party at [Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow] Prateeksha is being held on Saturday. Invites were sent out last week. Given that the bash will take place in the garden, parents Abhishek and Aishwarya have added floral motifs to the cards.”

On the guest list, the source says, are star kids, including Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao’s son Azad, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh’s son Riaan, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna’s daughter Nitara, Sanjay Dutt’s twins Shahraan and Iqra and Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty’s son Viaan Raj.

Well, it’s a known fact that the fan following of ‘Game of Thrones’ spreads across all seven continents. People from different countries and languages are ardent followers of the HBO hit show. And we don’t need to give you thousands of reasons as to why show such a huge hit. It’s bloody amazing!

We can definitely say that it is one of the most watched shows in the world and every news or update about it goes viral within no time.

When we learned that GOT had an Indian connection, we couldn’t contain our happiness. From costumes to VFX, there were a lot of things where our people were involved in making of the show which is pretty epic if you think about it. But we bet none of knew that the show also had a Bollywood connection.

Don’t be surprised, but did you know Australian actor Conan Stevens, who was seen playing the character of Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane shares a Bollywood bond with us? The man has done three Bollywood films and shared screen space with Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan. What’s astonishing is all this took place while we had no clue about it.

Stevens has played Asura in ‘Drona’, Joey in ‘Chandini Chowk to China’ and also the fighter Luca in ‘Brother’.

Recently in an Interview with Hindustan Times, he shared his experience working in Hindi films. He talked how he is a huge fan of Hindi films even before he started working in them.

When asked about his favourite films, he mentioned Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’ and said, “I had seen Amitabh in movies before but never really recognised him. Black was the first modern movie I saw him in, and wow! I know it did not do too well in cinemas but what a great movie. Very well received by the critics and rightly so. I think this movie raised international expectations of Hindi films from a mad rush to marry with song and dance erupting out of nowhere to that India can produce very serious dramatic films.”

He also mentioned how he enjoyed watching ‘D-Day’, ‘Bhootnath’, ‘Ghajini’, ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’.

He also believes that Indian actors are very hard working and give everything it takes to play a role. He shared, “The stars of Indian cinema seem to take the job on as more than a job, it seems to me that they try to live as large as the roles they play. They sing and dance, do their own stunt work, they really take it upon themselves to work as hard as they possibly can at being the role model they pretend to be onscreen. And all whom I have met are absolute gentlemen in the traditional English sense. It really has been a pleasure to work with everyone I have so far met, and I must admit I have learned and do try to emulate them in this way.”

When asked about the difference between Bollywood and Hollywood he gave a mind-blowing answer, “In India, reality is too close so when we go to the movies we want to escape reality, in the West they are so removed from reality that that is what they want to see in movies.”

Tarun Mansukhani’s Dostana starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra released in 2008. Though there was talk of a sequel, it never took off. He then got busy with the animation flick, Koochie Koochie Hota Hai, which did not see light of day either.

The director’s next Bollywood outing, Drive, which features Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez is slated to release on March 2, next year; it is being touted as a Holi release. It took Tarun 10 years to hit the marquee again — a rather long and patient journey.

‘Dhoom 3’ is 50 percent complete: Abhishek Bachchan

Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who is currently working on the third film of the ‘Dhoom’ franchise, reveals that the film is 50 per cent complete

‘The status of ‘Dhoom 3′ is we are currently about 50 per cent through, we have just come back from a marathon schedule in the States (United States). Now we resume our indoor work in Mumbai,’ the 37-year-old said here Sunday at the Big Star Entertainment Awards.

Katrina Kaif, the newest entrant into the ‘Dhoom’ group, also talked about her upcoming films here. ‘At the moment we are shooting for ‘Dhoom 3′ with Aamir (Khan). Then in February I will start a film with Hrithik Roshan, which is an action film, it’s romantic-action kind of a drama film,’ Katrina said. ‘Dhoom 3: Back in Action’ has Aamir Khan in a negative role while Abhishek and Uday Chopra reprise their characters of Jay and Ali respectively.
