Until last month, every time someone made plans for a horror movie, there were a handful of options to pick from like ‘The Exorcist’, ‘The Conjuring’, ‘The Ring’ or ‘The Sinister’. But after September 8, our choices changed and how. Now we just cannot look past the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘It’ and it seems we are not the only ones affected by the movie’s charm. Within first few days of its release, this movie and its scariest yet beloved clown ‘Pennywise’ has stirred up quite a storm globally and majorly in their home country. People lost their sh*t over an evil clown who loves to feast on innocent children and there are obviously no points for guessing that this movie is hands down one of the biggest blockbusters of this year.

Having said that, it seems this Pennywise’s terror or should we say charm isn’t going to die down anytime soon, as the movie has now become the highest grossing horror movie ever, exceeding ‘The Exorcist’, on the domestic level. It took one devilish clown and Stephen King’s mind-numbing imagination to break the latter’s 44-year-old record of being the highest grossing horror movie domestically. ‘It’ has reportedly minted $236.3 million as the US box-office within the first few days of release, easily beating ‘The Exorcist’ that garnered $232.9 million. However, this achievement is just a small step as the 1973 release ‘The Exorcist’ still rules at the top position of being the highest grosser globally at $441.3 million, while ‘It’ is at $404.3 million.

Pick up any of Stephen King’s novels, and you know that you are in for some spine-chilling and gruesomely fascinating read. Well, their adaptations only get better and we are thankful to all the directors for keeping the mystery and charm intact. Talking about the movie and Pennywise in particular, we think there couldn’t have been a better choice than Bill Skarsgard, who did a fabulous job in reintroducing us to coulrophobia all over again. The movie is directed by Andrés Muschietti. Given the gigantic tremors of fear that people felt after watching the movie, the makers are now gearing up for a sequel, which will only get scarier from here on.

As for the smashing record-breaking performance, can you hear confetti being thrown and wine glasses clinked at Pennywise’s sewer? Well, we surely can hear the party beats and who knows this might be one of his sinister plans to pull us into his charm.

This is not a story that we are cooking up, this is the basic premise of the upcoming Netlfix crime-thriller, ‘1922′, which is based on Stephen King’s novella of the same name. Imagine the nastiest and scariest of sh*t in the world – something that can make you pee in your pants out of fear – and you can trust Stephen King to already have something prepared on that. We are not complaining, we are actually in love with the various forms of phobia that this man introduces us to, with his bizarre imagination. Netflix recently released the trailer of the ‘1922′ which revolves around Wilfred James (played by Thomas Jane) who loves his farm and his home a little too much. For him “A man’s pride was a man’s land.” But his wife Arlette (Molly Parker) wants to move to the city. When James refuses, she asks for a divorce and tells James that she will take their son with her to the city. Tensions aggravate to an extent where James conspires with his son to kill his wife. However, things don’t end there. The real action begins when the wife’s ghost comes back along with an army of rats to haunt the sh*t out of James.

The trailer looks eerily creepy and teases us with an open ending, leaving us confused as to what will happen to James. ‘1922′ has been directed by Zak Hilditch who is known for making movies like ‘These Final Hours’ and ‘Transmission’ and by the looks of the trailer, Hilditch has done a fabulous job in keeping the fear and mystery intact in the movie adaptation. Pick any movie adaptation of Stephen King’s work and they will speak volumes about the talent this man has in instilling fear among people, with his firm grip on horror, supernatural fiction, suspense and fantasy genre. Having said that, we also can’t resist ourselves from coming back to his work again and again and probably that’s the charm of King’s books and the adaptations inspired by it.

The trailer of the much-awaited film ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ is finally here and by the looks of it, the movie is all set to revive our fading love for retro video games (mind you we are not talking about the Playstation or Xbox). The 1995 ‘Jumanji’ was all about board games and their characters coming out in real life, while this movie stresses on video games and how the players end up going into the game, in the body of the characters they chose to play. As kids we often imagined how the world inside video games like ‘Mario’, ‘Tekken 3′, or ‘Street Fighter’ looked like. This trailer lets us experience exactly that, but only in an exaggerated form.

The first trailer came out in June and hinted at the kinds of dangerous adventures these folks will experience and the second trailer, introducing the likes of Nick Jonas, Morgan Turner and a deadly cake; is fiercer and funnier than ever. The trailer begins with four friends, who stumble on an old video game console and suddenly get transported into the world of Jumanji, only to find themselves inside the bodies of Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan. With their own strengths and bizarre weaknesses, the four set out on a journey to protect themselves from the unseen danger that awaits them. In this trailer, the characters will also learn about their strengths and weaknesses and how it can literally blow you away. After all, it’s not every day you see people getting blown up after eating a cake.

The film has its own cool antics – each character having three lives to win the game, a phone-obsessed girl ends up in a middle-aged guy’s body and Kevin Hart being blown up by a cake. The film is directed by Jake Kasdan while the screenplay was written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. The film will hit the theatres on December 20.

Whenever we hear of a reboot or sequel being made of our favourite film, we inadvertently end up comparing the two and also take some bias towards the original one. But, this one is definitely worth the watch, at least the trailer is hilarious and funny.

In fact, we all love to watch movies that are made on athletes because it helps us experience and learn about the struggles that they had to go through in the early stages of their career and how their life changed after they found fame.

Of all these biopics, ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ was one of the most successful movies at the box office, both commercially and critically (then ‘Dangal’ happened and things changed). Anyway, we can’t help but say that actor Sushant Singh Rajput did a fabulous job in playing ‘Captain Cool’ Mahendra Singh Dhoni on screen. Such was his popularity and impact that after the film’s release, every time we searched for MS Dhoni, Sushant Singh Rajput’s photos and information would pop up on our page. Well, after wearing the cap of a cricketer on screen, Rajput is now reportedly gearing up for another major biopic on wrestler Dalip Singh Rana. For those who don’t know who this legendary man is – you can also call him The Great Khali.

According to DNA, a source was quoted as saying “The biopic is on the life of wrestler Dalip Singh Rana, better known as Khali or The Great Khali in WWE circle. The studio has spoken to the Punjabi wrestler and he has given them the rights to make a film on his life. Sushant has been approached to play the titular role and he has in principle agreed to do the film.” The best thing about any biopic is that one gets to witness things that were kept hidden under wraps, away from the public view. This movie too will shed some light on Khali’s struggles and his inspiring journey. It will be really interesting to see how the makers of the film recreate the journey of an officer for the Punjab state police, who struggled for years before turning into one of the most legendary wrestlers of his time.

However, there’s one thing we can’t help but wonder. The Indian-born American, semi-retired wrestler, Khali, is said to be fourth tallest wrestler in WWE history and is almost 7’1” tall and weighs around 157 kg. But, Sushant Singh Rajput stands nowhere close to Khali’s height and weight. So unless the makers seek help from some magician or someone who is hailed as the ultimate guru of CGI or VFX, we don’t think there’s any way that any Bollywood actor could look like Khali. In fact, a trade analyst was also quoted as saying, “What worked in Sushant’s favour during Dhoni was that he looked, walked and talked like MSD. Here, Sushant has no similarities with Khali when it comes to his body prototype and his height. Unless there’s a lot of VFX involved, it’s difficult to pull off a film on Khali. No hero in Bollywood will look convincing as The Great Khali, unless there’s CGI.”

We don’t know what the makers will do, but this is exactly what intrigues us and will drive people to the cinema. Sushant will be seen in another biopic where he will play Paralympic gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar.

As we all eagerly await the release of the trailer of ‘Tomb Raider’ starring Alicia Vikander, there is an interesting thing that caught the Internet’s attention and how. On one hand, where the makers were basking in the popularity the movie’s poster was enjoying, Twitter on the other hand was engaged in proving the directors that they can do a better job when it comes to Photoshop. The official Twitter handle of ‘Tomb Raider’ recently released the poster where actress Alicia Vikander is slaying it as Lara Croft. But, there is a tiny mistake that they couldn’t figure out, but people were quick to catch on. Check out this poster.

Now if you look closely, Alicia’s neck looks really weird and it’s evident that the photo was retouched to make her neck appear longer. Clearly, fans were miffed and laughing at the same time over this photoshopped image and came up with their bizarre and f**ked up variations for the poster.

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence may be receiving mixed reviews for her latest release ‘Mother!’ directed by Darren Aronofsky, but one can’t help praise Lawrence’s commendable performance as a woman whose tranquil life is turned upside down when a mysterious couple comes to stay at their house; in this psychological horror movie. Well, it seems that movie was just a glimpse of how versatile an actor Jennifer is and possibly a sneak peek into the various challenging roles she will be taking up in her upcoming movies. The trailer of Jennifer’s next movie ‘Red Sparrow’ was recently released by 20th Century Fox and our jaws actually dropped on the floor when we realized how twisted and intense the movie is going to be.

Fulfilling the fanciful wish (of playing James Bond’s counterpart) of every fan out there, Lawrence will be seen as a dangerously seductive Russian ballerina-turned-assassin, who uses her body and mind as weapons to kill the enemies. She looks striking as a cold-blooded killer who does not think twice before seducing and manipulating anyone, only to kill them eventually. In fact, her straight face and gawking eyes are reasons enough for anyone to fall for her charm. However, things turn wary when she falls for a CIA officer, played by Joel Edgerton. With ‘Red Sparrow’, Lawrence is reuniting with director Francis Lawrence, who has earlier worked with her in ‘The Hunger Games’ series. The movie is slated to release on March 2, 2018 and also stars Jeremy Irons, Mary-Louise Parker, Charlotte Rampling, and Matthias Schoenaerts.

It’s happening! A biopic is being made on Mike Tyson and ‘Django Unchained’ actor Jamie Foxx will play the role of legendary and controversial boxer, Iron Mike Tyson who ruled the boxing ring as the undisputed world heavyweight champ for 20 f**king years (1985-2005), has won 50 out 58 fights in his career. The news was apparently confirmed by Tyson himself, “It’s on, as of right now. Jamie Foxx has signed on for it. Filming hasn’t started yet but it’s going to happen.” In fact, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ director Martin Scorsese too is said to be associated with the film, although nothing is confirmed as of now.

While talking about the biopic, Tyson was quoted as saying that some people might find it ‘uncomfortable’, “A lot of people aren’t going to like the things I’ve done in my life.” Jamie has already started preparing for this big role. According to a report published in The Sun, a source said “Jamie went to a couple of sessions with his trailer in the gym for this movie.” It was further added, “He looked quite good throwing a few jabs and crosses against the pads. But when he tried a bit of sparring, he didn’t fare so well.” Well, Jamie will have to work real hard to toughen up for the role, after all playing the legendary boxer Tyson is not a piece of cake.

Tyson who is called ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ has many credits to his name, but has dealt with a fair share of controversies in his life as well. The man who holds the record of being the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title at the age of 20, was convicted of rape in 1992 and sentenced to six years in prison. The whole world knows about Tyson’s badassery, especially after he bit his opponent Evander Holyfield’s ear. Although we don’t know if all of this will be shown in the movie, but it will be interesting to see how his biopic turns out to be and the characteristics that Jamie brings with him on board.

Although the seventh season of ‘Game of Thrones’ is over, we just can’t get enough of the finale episode that blew our minds away. From Viserion, the undead dragon brutally crushing ‘the wall’ to Jon and Dany finally fulfilling fans’ wishes by taking incest to another level, this season ended on a really high note. We are sure many of you must be wondering what the actors might be doing, now that season 7 is over? ‘Preparing for season 8′? NO. Some are actually living their lives, away from all the tension of killing or getting killed on their quest to sit on the coveted throne. At least Jon Snow aka Kit Harington is definitely having the time of his life. For all those who thought this man knows nothing, he sure knows how to have fun, with his partner in crime Ser Davos (played by Liam Cunningham).

Since Westeros is not a place where you can attend to your fanciful wishes of riding in racing cars, Jon Snow, the King in the North made sure that he rides one in real-life. Kit Harington along with Liam Cunningham, took some time off Winterfell and travelled to Monza, Italy, where they rode in swanky two-seater Formula 1 cars. The duo looked super excited, and in fact were all smiles as they geared up for the ride. According to The Drive, Harington said after his ride, “I was cursing at all of you for putting me in that thing!” He further added, “That’s the most fun I’ve had. No matter how scared the two were while riding in the racing car, we are sure the experience is definitely safer than the kind of sh*t they had to deal with in Westeros since no one is hatching a plan to kill them all. Having said that, although Jon Snow couldn’t ride the dragon, at the very least, he got to ride in a beast that’s fiercer in real life.

Stephen King’s ‘IT’ has definitely raised the bar really high for all upcoming horror movies and TV shows. It has also made Pennywise one of the scariest and creepiest clowns we have ever come across. But, if you thought that Pennywise wasn’t eerie enough to trigger your fear of clowns aka coulrophobia, then get ready to be freaked out as a new clown is in town, and he is bloodcurdlingly frightening. And the latest trailer of the upcoming horror flick, ‘Crepitus’ has cemented that fear in our hearts.

Earlier this year, a teaser trailer of ‘Crepitus’ was released and it told the tale of a clown who enjoys eating children. He targets his prey by putting an X on their forehead. Check out the previous trailer here.

Now, a new trailer has been released which has taken gruesome to a whole new level. The film is about a 17-year-old girl, Elizabeth, and her younger sister, Sam who become the next target of Crepitus. How they fight the evil in a desperate attempt to save their lives, weaves the rest of the plot. Bill Moseley plays the cannibalistic clown in this movie, which is being directed by Haynze Whitmore. Bill Moseley has earlier starred in cult horror flicks like ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ and ‘The Devil’s Rejects’ and we are highly excited about what he brings with him to the table. For those who don’t know, ‘Crepitus’ is a medical term used to describe the sound or sensation felt when joints are popped or cracked. If this doesn’t creep your senses out, we wonder what can. The trailer looks disturbingly bone-chilling and only time will tell if it really lives up to its name and scares the shit out of us like Pennywise did or turns out to be yet another disappointing take on the horror genre. But, we are convinced after looking at the trailer that the chances of latter are bleak. The movie is expected to release in October in the US and it does not surprise us that it coincides with the month when people celebrate Halloween.
