Actor Leonardo DiCaprio and filmmaker Martin Scorsese are on board to work on a movie on Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States.

DiCaprio will portray the former President and Scorsese will be directing the project. The duo will also serve as producers, reports deadline.com.

DiCaprio and Scorsese last worked together in 2013’s critically acclaimed ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’. They have earlier teamed up in movies ‘Gangs of New York’, ‘The Aviator’, ‘Shutter Island’ and ‘The Departed’.

The duo are developing two more real life based films. One is called ‘The Devil in the White City’ about a serial killer who lured his victims into his elaborately constructed ‘Murder Castle’.

The other is ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ that depicts the birth of the FBI. It focuses on a series of murders of the members of the Osage tribe after oil was discovered beneath their land. The case became one of the FBI’s first major homicide investigations.

DiCaprio was last seen on the big screen in ‘The Revenant’ that earned him his first ever Oscar win after multiple nominations in the past.

It’s happening! A biopic is being made on Mike Tyson and ‘Django Unchained’ actor Jamie Foxx will play the role of legendary and controversial boxer, Iron Mike Tyson who ruled the boxing ring as the undisputed world heavyweight champ for 20 f**king years (1985-2005), has won 50 out 58 fights in his career. The news was apparently confirmed by Tyson himself, “It’s on, as of right now. Jamie Foxx has signed on for it. Filming hasn’t started yet but it’s going to happen.” In fact, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ director Martin Scorsese too is said to be associated with the film, although nothing is confirmed as of now.

While talking about the biopic, Tyson was quoted as saying that some people might find it ‘uncomfortable’, “A lot of people aren’t going to like the things I’ve done in my life.” Jamie has already started preparing for this big role. According to a report published in The Sun, a source said “Jamie went to a couple of sessions with his trailer in the gym for this movie.” It was further added, “He looked quite good throwing a few jabs and crosses against the pads. But when he tried a bit of sparring, he didn’t fare so well.” Well, Jamie will have to work real hard to toughen up for the role, after all playing the legendary boxer Tyson is not a piece of cake.

Tyson who is called ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ has many credits to his name, but has dealt with a fair share of controversies in his life as well. The man who holds the record of being the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title at the age of 20, was convicted of rape in 1992 and sentenced to six years in prison. The whole world knows about Tyson’s badassery, especially after he bit his opponent Evander Holyfield’s ear. Although we don’t know if all of this will be shown in the movie, but it will be interesting to see how his biopic turns out to be and the characteristics that Jamie brings with him on board.

The iconic Batman villain and one of the most enigmatic characters in comics, The Joker is just about to get his own origin story.

Even though fans were quick to express their anger after hearing the news that an origin story was in the works, we can all at least be happy about one thing – the character won’t be played by Jared Leto in this Warner Bros film.

Martin Scorsese has been signed-on to produce this movie and, along with that, it will be directed by ‘The Hangover’s’ Todd Phillips, who will co-write the film alongside ‘8 Mile’ writer Scott Silver, according to Deadline.

While the character never had his own movie, the character has been portrayed by some incredible actors on the big screen. Back in 1960s, Cesar Romero played the character in the Batman series.

Then, Jack Nicholson took over the role for Tim Burton’s Batman in the 1989 movie.

After that, Heath Ledger even won a posthumous Oscar for his portrayal of the character in 2008’s The Dark Knight.

The Joker Origin Movie Is In The Works

The Joker is currently being played by Jared Leto, and he will continue to portray the character in in the forthcoming ‘Suicide Squad’ sequel and ‘Gotham City Sirens’, but, reportedly, a different and younger actor will be handed the role for this movie. But with Scorsese being on board, Leonardo DiCaprio probably cannot be ruled out.

The news was met with a lot of backlash, with fans mainly arguing that the Joker doesn’t require an origin story at, that’s the point of the character.

that Joker film is supposed to be an origin film? oh god

— Terence Johnson (@LeNoirAuteur) August 22, 2017

The whole point of the Joker is that he has no set origin story https://t.co/f63wzK8Zpc

An origin is totally unnecessary for the Joker at this point. And as in prev RT, The Dark Knight made it clear he’s scarier w/out one.

i hate the idea of joker having an origin like, we know HOW he was made but it’s so dumb for him to be like “oh look at him having a bad day

But, hearing about Scorsese’s involvement, some people were still a little hopeful.

Martin Scorsese on board to produce a 1980’s Gotham City crime film based on the origins of the Joker? You have my attention… #TheJoker

— Jesabel (@JesabelRaay) August 22, 2017

Okay I’m hopeful for the Joker movie. If they are casting a new joker and Scorsese is suppose to produce then all is not lost.

DiCaprio must be playing the joker? DiNero is his father?  Where does Joe Pesci fit in?

— J Gerry (@IslandKing63) August 22, 2017

But, after Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger, whoever gets signed on to play the role will have some big shoes to fill. Literally!
