‘Game Of Thrones‘ has pretty much glued its actors to their respective characters and it’s kinda impossible to imagine them doing anything else, but this. Right? Like if I told you Khaleesi has starred in a modern day rom-com, it’s actually tough to imagine her without that flowing gown, flying with Drogon and laying waste to Lannisters and white walkers. So yeah, that’s the power of perception. The showrunners did a pretty good job in writing such amazing characters that we can’t imagine them as anything else. ‘I want her to know it was me’, she died with words that stung like a wasp. Probably one of the most brutal characters who used her words just as well as swords. She played the role of Emma Peel in the ‘Avengers’ in a previous life.

So it turns out that the real life ‘wolf of wall street’, Jordan Belfort actually gave him tips and lessons on how to act high on drugs while filming the famous movie. In an interview, he explained the process of rehearsing. “I showed him what it looks and feel like when you are high on Quaalude. We were both on the floor, drooling. His father walked into the room and asked us what the f*ck we were doing.” Leonardo apparently even had all of it taped on video to rehearse in person and called them ‘lost Jordan tapes”.

Leonardo and Jonah Hills snorted vitamin powders and it turned out that Hills ended up in the hospital due to an overdose of those vitamin powders!

Keanu Reeves is all set to reprise the role of John Wick for a third inning of the movie series. Not much has been divulged in terms of the storyline and premise that will form the structure of the movie but as per reports, the movie is gearing up for a May 2019 release.

The first part of the movie, which came in 2014 was a hit and fans loved Keanu. Chad Stahleski, the director threw some light about expanding the thriller series. “We want, not so much to go bigger on the third one, but to show you more of the intricacies of the world… I feel like there are all these different subtleties that I skipped over in Number Two, that I’d like to go back to on [chapter three] and show you the inner workings of different parts of New York. So rather than massive set pieces, I’d like to show you cooler and more intricate ones. I like telling stories from my one character’s perspective. Once you put that aside with the TV show, [you can] expand to all the different characters and follow them throughout their journey.”

He also explained how the original intention was to make just one movie. The idea of converting it into a whole series was not a part of the original plan.

Fighting the goons, sipping wine, and eating cake, staying in fancy hotels off our parents’ money, the movie instilled some fancy adventures in our brains. ‘Better Watch Out’ is like the millennial ‘Home Alone’, except it has a new angle of horror and thrill.

It’s supposed to be a chilly Christmas offering and stars Levi Miller, Ed Oxenbould, Olivia DeJonge, Dacre Montgomery, Virginia Madsen, Patrick Warburton. There’s a babysitter and kids and an intruder in the house.

The story looks like a good visual Christmas gift and the home invasion genre only adds to the fun thrill watch. The movie is set in an American suburb and the people inside the house realise that it’s not a normal home invasion. The movie is yet to get an Indian release date but sure looks like something we’d look forward to.

The woman who made the role so iconic, that even the makers have sleepless nights trying to give her dialogues that match the personality of the character is none other than the lovely Lena Headey. Our beloved Cersei graced the Jimmy Kimmel show and of course, they had a special section where the two had a full impromptu conversation similar to a scene in ‘Game Of Thrones’. The clip trending on the internet is an old one but it’s one of those things where you love going back to a good classic.

There was wine involved (of course) and Lena not only managed to drink like a boss from that fancy goblet, she also managed to convert the conversation into a fully blown goblet of fire actually. How they and a bounded life pushes Roshni (the lead) to get intimate with her brother is what the story is all about.

‘Game Of Thrones’ may be over but the hangover still remains, somewhere. It’s like a daunting ex , the mere mention of a name, a picture spotted somewhere and boom, you are ready to invest some time there.

Coming back to GOT, we all have our favourites. A favourite villain, a favourite we love to love and one we love to hate. The Hound enjoys a special place in the series. A guy who comes on and off, curses people like no one’s business, throws a few around, chops up a soldier or two and wears an angry face forever.

So there’s a full-fledged video which is a compilation of all the funny insults collectively pelted by the Hound over seven seasons of GoT.

In the last few episodes of the seventh season that just concluded, fans went crazy over the low key bond that started forming between the Hound and Tormund. The entire frozen lake set piece was testament to that!

‘50 Shades Of Grey’ has set many carnal clocks in motion, intimidated a few, changed the way women perceive desires and surprised men in odd ways. The movie franchise tried very hard to convert this desire to be the driving fuel for its success but the resposnse has majorly been lukewarm till now.

After ’50 Shades Of Grey’ and ’50 Shades Darker’ set the ball rolling and put the story in place, with a plethora of steamy scenes , the final movie in the trilogy is all set to see the light soon now. ’50 Shades Darker’ is being estimated to be more desire driven, good storyline and hopefully better acting! Oh also, they get married finally in this one. The teaser looks decent though.

Jamie Dornan offcourse looks amazing with that body that he has been flaunting in the last two movies as well.

The movie will have many dark undertones with Anna’s previous boss coming after her. If you have read the books, you know what happens, if you haven’t read them, then the movie is slated to release next Valentine’s day so you have to wait. Oh, please don’t forget that we don’t get to watch the unedited movie because once its snipped by our ‘sanskaari’ film board, I don’t know what skeleton will remain of it.

Indian cinema caters to the entire world; public has a huge appetite for our powerhouse and B-town has some wonderful people who make some stellar movies that don’t always compete with a Karan Johar movie at the box office, but leaves its mark on the world map. Film festivals are an amazing platform for such critically acclaimed work and here are some of the Indian movies which are making their mark and shining bright at the Toronto film festival:

1. The Brawler – Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Mukkabaaz’ tells the true story of a boxer who is trying to make his ends meet and also follow his passion to make it to the Indian National Boxing Championship.

2. Pahuna: The Little Visitors – Produced by our ‘desi’ girl Priyanka Chopra, the movie has received a standing ovation at the festival. The movie follows the lives of three Nepalese kids who make their way through Sikkim in search of their parents.

3. Village Rockstars: This one also has the flavours of the North East. The story tells the tale of a 10 year old girl who harbours a simple dream of making her own rock band.

4. Omerta- This is the brainchild of Hansal Mehta and tells the stark tale of Omar Saeed Sheikh, the man responsible behind the kidnapping and killing of famous journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002. Rajkummar Rao is the lead so you have no doubts about the credibility.

5.Azmaish: A Journey Through The Subcontinent – This is a unique combination of a Pakistani director and Indian actor Kalki Koechlin. The movie has Kalki interview the commoners in both the countries and draw parallel of how life is in both the places.

6. The Hungry- This is Bornila Chatterjee’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘Titus Adronicus’. Starring Naseeruddin Shah and Tisca Chopra, the movie tells the tale of greed, revenge and murder.

Next time someone tells you that our film industry is only about larger than life movies and dancing around trees, you know what to recommend them.
