The news of her death was confirmed by her nephew Nasirr Khan, son of veteran comedian Johnny Walker.

She was a star in her own right in the 50’s n 60’s. Babuji dheere chalna, pyaar mein zara sambhalna…Please keep her in ur prayers. May Allah grant her Jannat (sic).”

Often described as the ‘queen of Indian movies,’ she quit the film industry, married an NRI industrialist, and settles in the UK. She later returned to Mumbai’s Marine Drive for a few years.

However, after her daughter Meenaz committed suicide, she shifted to her Bandra residence, where she was currently residing.
