After an exceptional performance in his latest thriller ‘Ittefaq’, actor Sidharth Malhotra is back in action (quite literally) with another kickass movie ‘Aiyaary’, the trailer of which was dropped today.

As the story unfolds in the trailer, one gets instantly reminded of movies like ‘Baby’, ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and more, but given that the movie is helmed by stalwarts who earlier gave their Midas touch to movies like ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Special 26’, ‘Baby’ and ‘M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story’; connecting the dots between movies is inevitable.

However, by the end of the trailer, we realize that it has its own charm and style that makes it stand out from other action movies, which were based on army officials battling with external and internal threats hovering on the country.

The trailer gives us an insight into the relationship between two Indian Army officers, a mentor (Manoj Bajpayee) and his protégé (Sidharth Malhotra), and how their differing ideologies lead to conflicting situations between them. While Manoj and Sidharth singlehandedly bring the whole house down, veteran actors like Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher hit the final nail on the coffin and turn this into a visual treat we are dying to watch.

The name ‘Aiyaary’ seems apt for the film, given that both Manoj and Sidharth don various avatars and disguise while catching criminals. Director Neeraj Pandey reportedly said, “Aiyaary has been a special project with a very exciting ensemble. ‘Aiyaary’ means the ultimate trickery. The word ‘Aiyaary’ fabulously sums up what a soldier resorts to ultimately in the face of extreme crisis. His intelligence, sharpness and wit not only bedazzles his own troop but also earns him the respect of his enemies.”
