After months of rumors, it’s now official that Sonam Kapoor is getting hitched to her longtime boyfriend Anand Ahuja and we are shook!
The lovely couple will get married on May 8, 2018. And finally, after weeks of waiting, the Kapoors and Ahujas have shared a joint statement, confirming the glorious development and also requesting everyone to respect their privacy.
Here’s what the official statement from the families read:
“The Kapoor and Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.”
The news about their marriage started making rounds when Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma got married. Recently, when Sonam was asked about her wedding she neither confirmed nor denied but Kareena Kapoor Khan did take Sonam’s name when the topic was touched upon. Sonam also said that when it happens, everyone will know and that she will never hide it.
Recently, Anil Kapoor’s residence was all lit up, and everyone kept wondering if the wedding is indeed happening. Guess we all knew it already and now the confirmation just makes us even more excited.
It is being said that Ranveer Singh will be performing at Sonam’s wedding along with Arjun Kapoor. Also, Janhvi Kapoor will be performing numbers by her late mother Sridevi.
The wedding preparations have already begun and the families have decided to send across e-invitations for the wedding. A report on BollywoodLife stated, “Both Sonam and Anand believe in paper conservation. They believe that wedding cards mean a lot of waste of paper. Hence they have asked their families to not print any invitation cards. Instead, they have designed an elegant e-invite together which will be sent to their friends and relatives on their phones.”
The news has definitely made the day of their fans and heartiest congratulations from our end to their families.
