If you’ve seen ‘Deadpool 2’, you know it was just two hours of elaborate and hilarious pop culture references. And, don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I don’t think anyone would have to say anything bad about this movie. It has everything – comedy, action, superheroes, villains, and obviously Ryan Reynolds.
And, some of the best parts of the movie were obviously Deadpool being Deadpool and trolling each and every other superhero (or villain), be it DC or Marvel, or even himself. Here, we have some of the best instances of ‘Deadpool 2’ living up to our expectations – actually going even beyond – and giving us some of the most hilarious lines ever and trolling everyone else in the process.
1. “Grumpy old fucker with a ‘Winter Soldier’ arm.”
Wow, it was almost as if Bucky was right there. I thought Rocket was planning to steal Bucky’s arm in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ but looks like Cable got to it first. Does his time travelling device also work as a portal to other universes?
2. “I’m Batman!”
I’m not exaggerating when I say the whole theatre laughed at this point. Two simple words gave us one of the best scenes in the entire movie. Deadpool doesn’t care if you’re from Marvel or DC, he doesn’t discriminate, he’s going to endlessly troll you.
3. “Give me a bow and arrow. I’m basically Hawkeye!”
Not only was Hawkeye not a part of ‘Infinity War’, the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie yet, but he also had to be disrespected like this by Deadpool.
4. “Zip it, black Black Widow”
We all love Black Widow, she’s a badass in and out. And, after ‘Deadpool 2’, we have the same feelings about our very own black Black Widow – Domino. Maybe she can be the lucky Black Widow?
5. “So dark, you sure you’re not from the DC universe?”
Yes, this hilarious jab was in the trailer, but it was even better on the big screen. Remember when I said that no one was safe from our favourite anti-hero?
6. “Hey, big guy. Sun’s gettin’ real low.”
Remember how Black Widow said this to the Hulk in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ in an attempt to calm him down? Even Deadpool tried that on the Juggernaut, but obviously that didn’t work. For someone who loves to troll the hell out of Marvel, he sure seems like a huge fanboy.
7. “Brown Panther”
It was about time when something related to Dopinder made it onto this list. First of all, he’s the best character in the movie. Second of all, he really is the best character in the movie.
8. “Zip it, Thanos.”
We all know how much Deadpool loves to break the fourth wall (remember all the comments about lazy writing?) and this one was the best. Let’s start a conspiracy theory – maybe that time travelling device actually helps Cable go to different universes and he’s actually Thanos, but he’s just posing as Cable here.
9. That post credits scene
Ryan Reynolds’ appearance in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ was quite forgettable, but Deadpool now just wants to make sure that scene is completely erased from this world. And, he succeeds, thanks to ‘Justin Bieber’ and ‘Pinkie Pie’.
10. That other post credit scene
HE. KILLS. HIMSELF.
He literally kills himself before he can do that godawful ‘Green Lantern’ movie. Now, if that isn’t the ultimate troll, then I don’t know what is.
