The news of the legendary Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor passing away has left us all in grief. The actor-producer had been facing kidney problems since the last few years and was ridden to a wheelchair. Succumbing to the kidney ailment, he passed away yesterday at the age of 79.
Shashi’s career as a part of the Indian film industry had been nothing short of inspiring.
He began his journey by acting in plays, directed and produced by his father Prithviraj Kapoor. He started acting in films as a child in the late 1940s under the name of Shashiraj.
His career soon picked up and he went on to do exemplary performances in some of the best films Bollywood has witnessed. And since he did more than 150 films throughout his career, he was paired opposite a number of Bollywood actresses. Through his work, the actor was able to garner immense amount of respect and love from not just the audience but also from the Bollywood fraternity.
Although, there isn’t any proof required for the same, we stumbled across a photograph of him that warmed our hearts to the core and will do the same to you.
Two years ago, in 2015, Shashi was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke award and to celebrate the same, the Kapoors arranged a ceremony at the family-owned Prithvi Theatre.
And of course, the ceremony was a star-studded one. But what has captured everybody’s attention is a tweet by Rishi Kapoor.
The tweet comes with a photograph showing Shashi surrounded by some of the most beautiful and talented Bollywood actresses or as Rishi Kapoor puts it as “his heroines”.
