Zayn Malik and Bollywood are words that you must have seen together in way too many headlines over the last couple of weeks. From Zayn announcing that he is making his Bollywood singing debut soon, to him posting videos of him singing Hindi songs, the young singer has taken us all by surprise.
His Indian fans were probably the most shocked, but were they impressed? Umm… not exactly.
His attempts at singing Hindi songs haven’t exactly gone down well with the Indian audience. While some couldn’t stop praising him, others were hoping that he never sings another Hindi or Urdu song ever, especially not ones like ‘Teri Deewani’ and ‘Allah ke Bande’.
Hear him sing and judge for yourself:
Tere deewani by zayn
Here is another one:
Tere deewani by zayn
While we think it was a pretty good attempt, some are of the view that he basically ruined the two classic songs which are some of Kailash Kher’s best work and are an all time favourite of almost everyone.
After listen to @zaynmalik’s songs in hindi I had to purge my ears with actual Kailash Kher because that has to be some of the worst singing I have heard ever in life. And if you think it’s good, you’re lying or delusional.

@zaynmalik , @Kailashkher ji made this song alive by singing it. One of my favt. it is. Either try to sing it the way he had or don’t kill the soul of song! You are good in your own ways and try to cover that only. For rest, leave it on Kailash ji.

Heard Zayn Malik singing Teri Deewaani and just felt something coming out of my ears, blood it was. Pretty sure I’ve lost my hearing guys. Sigh

Quit Singing @zaynmalik
Especially if you have to ruin classics like #TeriDeewani of @Kailashkher https://t.co/9zf5dWqiRo

Everyone has a different opinion and we were all genuinely hoping that this cover reaches Kailash Kher soon. And well, to our utmost happiness, it indeed got his attention but the way he responded was totally unexpected.
The good news is that Kailash is willing to ‘jam’ with Zayn but first, he suggests him to learn the nuances attached to the songs and improve his skills.

In an interview with news agency IANS, he said, “If Zayn is a real fan of Kailasa (Kailash’s band), we have our digital academy coming up. There will be a course dedicated to all our compositions, including Teri Deewani and all our superhits. To know the correct notes and nuances, he can join (the academy) and enroll himself. It will help him to improve his skills. Then we can jam together in future.”
Well, well, well, if that isn’t the most epic response, we don’t what is.
