Ranveer Singh now has a train named after him in Switzerland. As brand ambassador of the country, the authorities decided to take the Padmaavat actor’s association a bit further.

The Ranveer On Tour is for the hordes of tourists from India that Singh has brought to their country. The train will travel across the Golden Line converging on the Swiss Alps. It will be inaugurated by the star on April 30. He is also said to have a huge fan following among the Swiss folk.

SRK has a long standing relationship with Switzerland as some of his most memorable movies ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Darr’, ‘Yes Boss’ and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan”where he shot right here amidst the ice-capped mountains.

Striking his famous signature pose with arms wide open in Davos, Shah Rukh re-created a DDLJ moment and transported us right back to the 90s. He captioned it saying, “Switzerland main aake yeh na kiya toh kya kiya…?” and we couldn’t agree more..

Akshay Kumar has begun shooting for ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’. He had a two-day schedule at Yash Raj Studios on Thursday and Friday.

The Khiladi, who features as a judge on the comedy show, was heard saying if the channel airs it at a late hour, he may not be able to catch it. The Khiladi’s bedtime is 8 pm. It is well-known that he believes in the ‘early to bed, early to rise’ dictum.

The next stint of shooting is slated for September 14, as Kumar will be on a break next week. He turns 50 on September 9. The actor is said to be celebrating his milestone birthday in Switzerland with near and dear ones.

Irrfan Khan is in Locarno, Switzerland, promoting The Song Of The Scorpions, with Iranian co-actor Golshifteh Farahani.

Anup Singh’s film premiered at the Locarno Film Festival on Wednesday. The love story was shot in the Thar desert in Rajasthan. Khan and Singh had earlier collaborated for the critically acclaimed Qissa (2013).

But off-late, the B-town lady Poonam Jhawer had taken time out and gone on vacation. The sexy lady of the town had reached Switzerland to have a great time. She will be seen in her upcoming movie “The City That Never Sleeps” which is produced by Satish Reddy and Haroon Rashid.

Poonam said, “I love to visit the most luxurious and magnificent places all round world. However, there are a few holiday destinations which are close to my heart.”

Beautiful actress Poonam Jhawar had done brilliant role in OMG movie where her performance was appreciated by masses and co-stars. “After doing a wonderful film I thought it’s time to take a break”, she added.

Swiss govt mulls bill to curb black money

NEW DELHI/BERN: Often accused of providing safe havens to black money from India and other countries, Switzerland has proposed a new bill to prevent its banks and other institutions from accepting “untaxed assets” from their clients and put in place a stricter due diligence regime.

The Switzerland Federal Council, the apex decision making body of Swiss government , has asked its finance ministry, the Federal Department of Finance (FDF), to submit a consultation draft at the start of 2013 to meet its goal of preventing banks from accepting untaxed funds from their clients. A decision to this effect was taken by the Federal Council at a meeting on Friday in Bern.

The move follows rising global pressure on Switzerland to act against its banks giving ‘safe haven’ to overseas entities in name of client confidentiality . In India as well, the issue of alleged hoarding of black money in Swiss banks has been a matter of political debate.

While a revised tax treaty has come into force between the two countries for exchange of information on untaxed assets and money laundering related activities, the rules require sufficient information for any banking details to be shared and many requests face the risk of getting rejected in the name of ‘fishing expeditions’ . The Swiss Federal Council said in a statement that it “is stepping up its efforts to combat abuses in the area of money laundering and taxation”.

“With the planned implementation of the revised recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), serious tax offences will be qualified as predicate offences for money laundering in future” it added.
