Sonam Kapoor trolled on Instagram for sunbathing in a bikini

Sonam Kapoor found herself being trolled on Wednesday evening after her sunbathing pic went viral. The actor is shooting in Phuket for ‘Veere Di Wedding’. Co-star Swara Bhaskar shared a video of the girl gang by the pool. Trolls had a field day passing comments about her bikini body, not that Sonam cares.

Swara Bhaskar wrote the following along with her post, “When u are dog tired after a looooooong flight.. actually two.. but still gotta chill out with your #Veere At @amanpuri #Phuket with @sonamkapoor @rheakapoor @shikhatalsania #VeereJustWannaChill missing #kareenakapoorkhan #VeereInThailand also yeah.. upside down video whatever!!!”

As always, any social media post by a Bollywood celebrity especial one where an actress posts a bikini photo of herself becomes the object of trolls. Swara Bhaskar’s post had the same reaction. Sonam Kapoor stars alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in ‘Veere Di Wedding’ which is set to hit theatres on 18th May, 2018. ‘Veere Di Wedding’ is has been touted as Bollywood’s first major chick flick.

Sonam Kapoor gained 11 million followers on Twitter earlier this week. During a Q&A session with fans, Sonam has stated that she plans to make Kareena Kapoor Khan join Instagram soon.

Sonam Kapoor has also expressed her desire to be cast as a villain if she ever did a superhero film in the future. Sonam even confessed that she would have loved to be part of her dad Anil Kapoor’s film ‘Mr. India’ which she considers one of her favourites.

Sonam Kapoor recently revealed on Twitter that she developed bronchitis due to environmental conditions. Sonam won a National Award for her performance in ‘Neerja’ (2016).

'Veere Di Wedding' first look has turned up the heat this October

We are already experiencing the October heat and the first teaser poster of ‘Veere Di Wedding’ has set temperatures soaring. In the poster we see all four leading ladies Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Shikha Talsania and Swara Bhaskar dressed up in traditional wear and yet are looking extremely sultry. Sonam is zipping her dress, Shikha is pleating Kareena’s saree and Swara is wearing her ‘mojri’. You can even catch a glimpse of Swara’s cryptic tattoo and it looks hot!

The cast and crew shared the first official image from the film that also revealed that the mahurat will be out tomorrow. The vibrant colours blending into the image and the stunning outfits donned by the leading ladies make this first glimpse a delightful one. Their posts have taken the internet by storm keeping the digital audience on the edge to find out what will be announced tomorrow. Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor’s ‘Veere Di Wedding’ is still on floors and the cast and crew just successfully wrapped their Delhi schedule. Ekta Kapoor has shared the first look of the film on her Twitter profile.

However, we are left wondering why Sonam has held a Japanese flag which hides Kareena’s face. Is there some mystery behind it? Is it a part of the film’s storyline? Who knows, once the trailer is out, people can gauge further into this ‘mystique aspect’ of the first look.

Sonam Kapoor has also acquired the movie rights for the book series, ‘The Aryavarta Chronicles’. The bestseller series by Singapore-based author Krishna Udayasankar is a modern retelling of the epic Mahabharata through the novels ‘Govinda’, ‘Kaurava’ and ‘Kurukshetra’ that collectively comprise the series. The 32-year-old actor has previously bought the film rights of Anuja Chauhan’s novel ‘The Zoya Factor’.

The film was affected by the rumours of a catfight between Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan. However, Sonam put out a Twitter post quashing all such rumours. The movie was also put on hold as Kareena was pregnant and expecting her first child with husband, Saif Ali Khan. Baby Taimur Ali Khan was born in December last year, post which she started shooting for ‘Veerey Di Wedding’.

Actress Sonam Kapoor is livid over gossip around an alleged ‘cat fight’ on the sets of her film ‘Veere Di Wedding’, which features an ensemble of actresses including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. Sonam’s reaction came following a ‘blind item’ posted by an entertainment portal.

In a Twitter post, Sonam wrote: “Dear websites, you can put out as many ‘blind items’ (aka gossip you were too lazy to fact-check) as you like pitting women against each other. It may get you clicks but it won’t be the truth. Must you insist on shoving this tired patriarchal concept of women cat fighting into our film (which is not about a road trip) as if grown, intelligent women have nothing better to do.

“We will continue to be actual friends and try and make a kick-ass movie and prove that women can work with each other, get along and have a blast. Because we can, we are and we will continue to. And on schedule. Please keep in mind how outdated, irresponsible, and harmful your narrative is and frustrating for a culture of women who actually want to work together. There is no place for it anymore. Sincerely, The cast and crew of ‘Veere Di Wedding’.”

Produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, the film’s first schedule was wrapped in Delhi. It is directed by Shashanka Ghosh. Sonam and Rhea’s father and veteran actor Anil Kapoor also shot down the gossip item. “Veeres stand together, through ‘blind stories’, false accusations and smear campaigns. That’s true friendship.”

Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan are getting along like a house on fire. The newest bffs in Bollywood are giving major friendship goals to everyone. Sonam and Bebo who are currently shooting for their upcoming film ‘Veerey Di Wedding’ took some time off to relax.

Shikha Talsania, who is also starring in the film posted a video on Twitter, where we see Kareena and Sonam making fun of each other’s diets. We hear Rhea Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in the background who are also pulling Sonam’s leg. Sonam is seen asking, “What do you want me to say?”, to which Swara replies, “What is your favorite dessert?”. Sonam replied, “It shouldn’t have calories.” Bebo joins in saying, “She shouldn’t eat desserts so she has just eaten a box of pringles.” Sonam then calls out Kareena for being ‘mean’ to her.

The cast of ‘Veerey Di Wedding’ have been sharing some fun photos from the sets and offscreen as well. The movie based on women bonding has a lot of fun and glam vibes to it. Both Bebo and Sonam who are fashionistas and style divas, have been regularly sharing photos.

The film is being directed by Shashanka Ghosh and shot in Delhi and Bangkok. The film is based on a wedding and four women who embark upon a fun roadtrip. ‘Veerey Di Wedding’ will mark the comeback of Kareena Kapoor Khan on the silver screen after her maternity break. She was last seen in the blockbuster film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ opposite Salman Khan.
